How do you want to WANT something better?

Personal opinion here:
The apathetic feeling common to most men is the result of the world telling them to repress their masculinity. We are told that it's wrong to be hateful, wrong to be jealous, wrong to be angry or feel rage, wrong to lust over tight cooch and double D's.

Society pressures us in an attempt to alter our desires so something they find more palatable and less threatening. We quickly discover that we cannot choose our desires, our desires choose us, and negating those desires does not create new, more acceptable ones in their place. Thus we kill our own desire for the sake of conformity and acceptance, then wonder why we no longer desire like we are told we should.

Anger, frustration, lust, desire, jealousy; those are the things that fuel us. Every man wants shelter and safety, some danger, some excitement and risk, some competition, reward and failure, some incentive, some punishment, some tight young thing to stick his dick into and a mind he considers an equal or greater. All men also want comfort to a certain extent. When all the other things he wants on a basic level are outlawed or shamed, shuned or dismissed by society he defaults to the only desire left; comfort and entertainment. To be left alone to play vidya games and go out drinking for some casual risk/reward/danger on the weekends.

Tell me I should go outside and clean up the front yard because it looks a little shit? Don't give a fuck; rather get on vent and play some games.

Tell me that Steve's yard next door looks great and that it really shows how much effort he's put into it? Fuck that cunt Steve next door, he's a fuckface, I'll be outside at the crack of fucking dawn for as long as it takes to make my yard look better than that cunt's yard. I'll make sure it doesn't even look I'm trying that hard either. If Steve mentions it i'll downplay the shit out of it to make fucking sure he knows it's GAME FUCKING ON!

Competition is a powerful motivator. Same goes for my previous list (hate, rage, anger, jealousy, DD's, etc).

Your emotions can be powerful assets if controlled and used in a fashion you wish which works towards your rational best interest. The most apathetic people I've known are usually the ones that suppress those emotions because they've been told they're bad or simply don't harbor desires which fit in with what society expects of them so they go through their life trying to make it as easy and painless as possible.
