You have to make emotional arguments to "win" but then you've already "lost." Their goal is to knock you out of your frame, your goal is to convince them they are wrong. It's a lose-lose because even if they concede any point, they'll just turn around and continue making the same old emotional arguments with other people.

You can't debate this. Either you enter their emotional frame, and lose, or you try to throw facts at emotion, and lose.

You're better off spending the same amount of energy trying to convince a lion that it is a mouse.

Go on youtube and search from "pay gap myth" and find the one with the economists explaining it. It's about 3-4 minutes along.

I would not suggest approaching this with good faith. Pro-feminist people do not argue in good faith, they attempt to make their opponents look bad.

If you publicly debate them remember they are trying to make you look like an idiot and your goal is to do this to them first. If you do not want to engage in this sort of things just say nothing. But please don't go in expecting reason to have much effect.

There is a pay gap but its because women tend to choose jobs that pay less, in fact in technical jobs they make more then their male counter parts by about 8% and tend to be promoted faster. Rape happens and its bad but how many times has a woman cried rape when it was just her not wanting to be seen as a slut? Feminism isn't equality, look at all the marital and child laws and you can then see how women went from less equal to more powerful.
