A girl saying you are friends means shit.

Girls are ruled by their emotions. A friend of mine would go for girls with boyfriends. He'd get their number saying he just wanted to be friends. Then ask them to hangout as friends. He spiked their emotions just the right way, escalate properly and boom...fucked the "friend" up the ass.

So you could have still made that work. Don't worry too much though.

This should probably be in ask trp but whatever. Don't ask a girl questions like "Am I wasting my time?". You put pressure on her and made her slightly "above" you in that moment giving her too much power, so she didn't know what to say besides "huh". Also more pressure was applied when you questioned her on where things would go. Her liking someone shouldn't deter you. And if it didn't work out, no sweat, just don't show it to her. All after one cardio session though. Too quick, so it sounds needy. You should have just asked to hangout or go someplace, and see where it went from there. They want care free and fun, not pressure.
