I have a drive such that everything I want to do involves self-improvement.
Do you have trouble post-poning short-term gratification? (one piece of candy now or two later?) Good. Don't be like me and set milestones for 5 and 10 years from now.
What do you want?
- To get laid?
- To be rich?
- To be popular and have a lot of friends?
Good. I don't want any of those things, because they are just the fruit on my tree of self-improvement. And you can't get those without having a foundation. Your short-sightedness just wants to fill the void. Does anyone want to actually improve themselves? We could have a fun and exciting life doing what we want and the money, friends, and women will follow.
If you want to eat junk food and sit around all day, that's perfectly fine with me, but you're not meant built to be an alpha. Not everyone was made to be alphas, fake it as much as you want, it won't change things. Don't be like me and work hard, get an awesome career through connections with the powerful people so you have more funds and more free time to enjoy life and more women flocking to you as a result of that.
You can't be like me because you'd die just trying.
I see posts about how guys in college these days are sitting on their ass all day long, playing netflix'n'jerk every night. You want to know what an accomplished guy did in college?
- worked nearly full-time
- Made more than my parents combined. Enough to be completely independent, paying for college by myself and being able to purchase a brand new sports car.
- researched under a professor
- This guy got me a full-time job offer 6-months before I graduated - making more than all of my friends starting salaries.
- double-major in engineering
- Not for the faint of heart. I outperformed my classmates without even trying.
- president of a couple on-campus clubs (Car club and self-improvement club)
- More important connections. Met lots of successful guys and girls for which I was their mentor/leader.
- rode a 50lb trick bike at full-tilt from home<->work<->school every day
- Closest thing I had to working out when I'm booked from 8am to 10pm everyday. I drank a glass of orange juice for breakfast and ate a hot-pocket for dinner. But don't be like me, it's too hard post-poning gratification.
Regardless of being busy, I still said yes to going out at night. I still got up at 6 or 7 the next day, sometimes making breakfast for the girl that stayed the night. However, as soon as I knew the girls weren't right for me, I dropped them. Some of them actually got pissed that I chose school/work/other-activity over them. I require intellectual compatibility so most of my relationships were just physical and ended whenever any ounce of drama peeked through - I had the biggest abundance mentality. But you... you're like my old roommate who woke up at 3pm and skipped class because he couldn't find the right thing to wear, plus you would be tired after ignoring your professors all day and need to take a nap, before playing netflix until 1am.
I was a prodigy, so I skipped any sort of studying and still managed to finish top of my class. I'm not joking. I didn't study for finals or midterms, but you can be damn sure I paid attention in class and wasn't browsing facebook or whatever the new thing is now. Regardless, I always looked down on people who said they were too busy 'studying' because I knew they were just staring at the ceiling, scrolling through social media, or watching netflix until the deadline was an hour away. Go ahead and be like those people - don't be like me.
By 25 I was the first of my friends to make 6-figures, buy a house, and finished my masters. It's more challenging mentally than physically, but that's probably why you can't possibly be like me - You lack the mental willpower.
If you still think you have what it takes to be like me, I'd be happy to answer any questions.
The amount of winners in this world is decreasing, and the amount of losers in this world is increasing.
