If I have to read one more bullshit post full of philosopher quotes, platitudes, adages, and inspirational drivel, I'm going to punch something.
You want a platitude? Here's one that's actually true:
Changing your mindset isn't the answer. Going to the fucking gym, talking to girls, excelling at your profession/hobbies/skills, and actually reaping some discomfort, failure, rejection, pain, and life while doing the goddamn work is the answer.
Reading bullshit on the internet, then living the same shitty life, but this time with a new and improved mindset just makes you a bigger pussy.

Thank you. Motivation is blue pill. Discipline is red pill. The difference is massive. TRP is the reality that spits in the face of the "be all you can be" and "soar like an eagle" mentality.

Actually I recently had a very crucial change in mindset that did prove to be the answer. Your mental framework is incredibly important.

"reaping some discomfort, failure, rejection, pain, and life while doing the goddamn work is the answer."
sucks this is part of Rp but its just true.. and its actually healthy to expierience it from a Red lenses and understand its part of the growing process, without failure we will never know what really is working and whats not and damn its hard to taste failure and taste the blue pill at the same time

... reaping some discomfort... is the answer
Lol no. Reframing the situation to one's advantage until the desired result is achieved is a powerful technique.

"I'm not an unfuckable loser! I just reject the game entirely because I'm too awesome for it!"
[–]Andrew543210 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not an unfuckable loser focuses being an unfuckable loser. Focus on seeing mistakes as results to be improved upon. One would not reject game unless the goal was to be an incel.

Another high school kid who thinks he had the world all figured out and in a headlock. Still so plugged in he writes this drivel. He looks up to the guys with lots of money who kinda lucked into it. Gates was in the right place at the right time and used other people's ideas more effective than they could. That comes from not having to build the thing yourself and adding an application beyond what you initially built it for. The difference is Nick Tesla and what became of things he invented.
Same with Musk, dude got lucky with pay pal. Sure he had to work at it, but the effort and risk were not overly against him. It wasn't arduous nor did it threaten to ruin him.
Buffet had a daddy who have him the money to start out, he gets the most respect because he took risks, but his opportunity is relatively rare. Is not going to happen to you.
And the final point. Just because you're a mind boggling rich fuck doesn't mean you're good, the best, smart, or anything else like that. It means you either got lucky, or you used others ideas and inventions, unless of course you're born into it. Wealth is not a good indicator of quality not capability. Anyone can make money, fucking anyone. Ok kid, I get it, you bought in and believe money will do everything for you. Unless you get lucky like Musk, you end up eating your life chasing a man made construct.

In my professional life, I have met everyone from the kids' list. They all had one thing in common that pretty much summed up what Archwinger said. They were all tireless in what they did. (For Musk, he is tireless in making shit up.). They weren't smarter. They weren't more "alpha." They weren't innovators. They weren't business geniuses. (Bill was widely known for stupid ideas in this venue.) They just pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed. They broke a lot of people in the process, but they won.
And yes, luck is an essential component.

Dude Elon musk really... you have rocks in your head and your incorrect...

i dont know why you had to bring politics and Trump into this when its irrelevant and it doesn't tie into the post at all, considering Trump cannot work alone as President and needs 100+ aides and advisors to hold his hand through the whole process

That's nice. How much time did you spend writing this?
Cool. Go spend it in the gym, balancing your budget, or gaming instead. It'll save you a lot of frustration down the line.
You have agency, so use it to act.
(And this is coming from a guy who used to submit some pretty good shit weekly) now I only comment in downtime. I've got shit to do.

You touch on some solid concepts here and there but don't fully develop them. Your heading gave me an idea of your core message but it got lost in translation. Granted, we as readers have minds of our own and shouldn't rely on you to spoon feed us, but likewise, we shouldn't have to do your work for you.

If you see Donald Trump as a role model, you're a fucking moron. Conservative politicians want working class America dead.
Sure he can "hold frame" and he worked hard to get to where he is, but that doesn't render over the fact that him and his cronies are evil pieces of shit who have no concept of morality, charity, or true leadership.
