SUMMARY: Accidentally tell HB8 that I have a girlfriend. HB8 seems more attracted towards me.

I'm a big fan of attending meetups. I enjoy filling my calendar with meetup groups that align with my interests. Might as well go out in a group than solo. They are also great at gaming women, as long as you pick the right ones. For example, don't attend a tech meetup to game women. You will be very disappointed.

This week I attended a holiday party at a bar/club hosted by an outdoor meetup group. I had always procrastinated on attending any outdoor meetups, so I decided to check it out despite it being indoors. It seemed like most of the people there knew each other, and I'm walking up to people introducing myself and flexing my social skills.

Not long after I show up, an early 30s mixed-race HB8 racking a very nice chest arrives. Let's call her "Mary". Mary approaches me, and I introduce myself. It turns out that this was her first time as well. I also learn that she's a big fan of salsa dancing.

Now here's where things get interesting. I tell Mary that during my stint in Colombia I danced quite a bit of salsa with my Colombian girlfriend at the time. For some reason, I accidentally said "girlfriend" instead of "ex-girlfriend". My tongue must have slipped in the heat of the moment. Anyway, she seems more interested in me all of a sudden, giving me more IOIs. I suggest we go dance, and we playfully bust out a few salsa moves with Top 40 music in the club. She asks me more personal questions, eventually wanting to know about my long-distance Colombian girlfriend.

Now here's where I fuck up. I corrected her by saying that my girlfriend and I broke up shortly after I left Colombia. All of a sudden, I could sense that she didn't seem as interested in me, despite the fact that I was now single and available. I did get Mary's number that night, but she's apparently "booked for the next 2 weeks". Go figure.

What I learned from all this is how powerful preselection is. Without the slightest clue, I had accidentally boosted my SMV by casually mentioning having a girlfriend in another country. Had I continued faking it, Mary would have possibly gone home with me that night. It reminds me of past situations where every time I mentioned that I was "seeing someone", women seemed more attracted to me, even back in my beta days. There are countless studies out there proving that women are more attracted to men in relationships or marriages.

LESSONS LEARNED:

  1. Preselection is always a good thing, even if you fake it.
  2. If you do fake having a girlfriend, at least fine tune all the details before going out and doing this.
