The closest to this I know from reallife are some young Turkish guys here in Germany.

I was talking with one of them after work and he was bragging how he beat up someone at a club on the weekend. This guy was very small and skinny as fuck. I still believed him and wanted to find out where he got the skills to fight someone.

He explained that he and his friends meet in a backyard and fight one on one. "So do you do semi-contact or wear gloves or what do you do not to get injuries?" "No, we go full force without gloves and there are a lot of injuries."

I found that interesting. I had some martial arts experience and asked him why he doesn't do martial arts. "They don't prepare you for a real fight and if I ever have to go to court after a fight at a club, I will be better off if the lawyers can't show that I have martial arts experience."

I found that to be pretty extreme back then. I hated physical violence and the first priority at our martial arts classes was not to hurt your training partner.

So I told a Turkish friend of mine about the guy and how he fights in the backyard full-force. And he said: "So? That's totally normal. We did that all the time. My brother is deaf on one ear and my mother still blames me for it. And I broke my cousin's jaw."

Uh, yeah... I guess it's not for me.

I've always wanted to, but I don't have health insurance. How do you explain that to a claims adjuster? I'm pretty sure mutual fighting isn't covered under most insurance plans.

IF you were going to, the only vaguely smart way would be with full protective/padded gear on. It's probably a horrible idea.

My friend and I watch a lot of spartacus and we decided to become gladiators. We bought "cold steel gladius trainers" on amazon (amazing btw 10/10 would recommend). We had our first training session yesterday and it was one of the most thrilling and fun thing I've ever done (second only to urban/rock climbing and longboarding). Yes, I woke up today with some bruises and stuff but I feel fantastic! The only rule we have is no face shots because these gladius trainers can do some major damage. I would highly recommend picking up a pair of these and finding a friend who is down to do this. It's also a great shoulder and trap workout.

Yes, I'm sure several share the sentiment, but it's a bad idea - you can't just walk around life like that. Fight club has awesome metaphors and ideas, but they are just that-metaphors.

Join a MMA gym or some other martial art. If nothing else, join a team sport where you preferably don't have to face women, as you will have to go 'easy' on them by white knights

Go join the Elks or Masons, or American Legion or VFW if you're a vet. Fight club is a horrible idea.

BJJ is what you are probably looking for. It has the most intense sparring on a regular basis, and the greatest sense of comradery. Boxing is good too, but many of the gyms are over-run with women now.

The Asian martial arts top-down class structure and emphasis on choreography are a significant barrier to the kind of male-male bonding and testing yourself that you are probably looking for.

If you really enjoy Aikido, you would probably like the Russian martial art Systema more. It has soft work and joint work like Aikido, but a more casual and masculine ethos, with more striking and more going hard. I got into it because I didn't want to wear a gi or bow to my sensei. If you live in a major city, you can probably find a good instructor. It won't test you like BJJ, boxing, wrestling, or MMA will though.

The Asian martial arts you are currently practicing are great for fitness, self-improvement and discipline, but have been significantly watered down in the west, and they do not spar hard enough every day to truly test you.

The origination story behind BJJ is particularly relevant to beta men looking to better themselves. Helio Gracie was the smallest and weakest of I think 5 brothers who were taught Japanese Jiu-Jitsu by their father. Helio was so weak and sickly that he was not allowed to train. He watched however, and figured out how to optimize the movements so that a weaker man could defeat a stronger opponent. Eventually he could beat all his brothers. If you are looking for a fight club, I think you will enjoy it more than Aikido.

How would you know it's a good stress relief? You obviously haven't ever been in one.

Fighting sucks and there is no good result that comes from it win or lose. Even if you win convincingly it sucks, even by some miracle you manage to KO someone in one hit that's great and all but your knuckle is going to be feeling it. Take someone to the ground I fucking hope you were on the softest dirt on the planet because just dropping on cement hurts.

Oh you did land on the softest dirt on the planet Great your clothes are now fucking filthy. Oh that nice shirt you had is now fucked better find another nice shirt.

Then when it's all said and done you need to worry about whether or not you will get in shit for it, whether the other guy is going to be ok, whether or not you still have all your teeth if they landed something.

Find another outlet, fighting sucks and is a terrible stress relief.
