I'm not whining about being ugly. I'm asking for other profiles so I can see what DOES work.

I'm not that far on Tinder. I'm trying to pass the entry barrier. Can I take a look at your profile?

Where can I find that stuff as a professional now? Sure, it happens with life, and I can't control that, but I wanna get better at this stuff. If there are ways to push for it, I want to hustle NOW rather than regret not being better.

SEC. I did. But poor/not a hustler/too proud and too scared for that stuff. Regretting several of those characteristics.

Thanks bro, I needed to hear that. Maybe you're right and my paranoia is focusing on the small things ONLY.

Less nice, more just people with a lot of goodwill and such. Unfortunately, I am currently dependent on some people and they're not non-factors.

Thank you for a well thought out answer. But I've seen a lot of hypocritical people in the way they behave, lol.

Valid point, i don't think about most people. I wish them well passively but i'm not actively invested in their lives nor can i be bothered to.

Appreciate the honesty. That was also when I found TRP, so I went from super positive clueless happy go lucky to super negative paranoid antisocial.

no, no and no. there were a few cases where people close to me actually did that and I withdrew socially for about a year and when I tried to come back, I was incredibly paranoid. It's better now, but not where I want.

I come to find a sense of satisfaction in being able to do these where most others would pussy out. To get where others will not, do what others will not.

No, to paraphrase what Ben Taleb says in Antifragile - 95% of shit that happens to you isn't in your hands. But every so often life will give you that perfect set up, and you need to be in a position to take it and slam dunk that bitch home with both hands. And for that, you need to be working. You need to be ready, and on top of your game. To take those opportunities, you need to be working so that if/when they do arrive, you have the wherewithal not only to recognize them but to use them. Wrong. It's not hamstering, because it's not a choice he made. He didn't have the skills, but that doesn't mean it doesn't come with its own potential upside. That's not hamstering. He's reframing.

I feel like the evolution of this feeling would be an understanding "Ok, you messed up. You were maybe dumber/smaller/less of a go getter. So you didn't have what it took to slay back then. What are you doing about it now though?" Easier said than done though
/r/TheRedPill28/11/16 08:40 PM

Honestly, a lot of us didn't have the game/skills/options. What are we supposed to do about that? Feel bad? It is what it is. We can fix it now, that's all that's different.

getting laid is bad for you psychologically Only because you live in a culture that basically worships getting pussy as a rite/measure of your manhood. I grew up in the far east and I didn't lose my virginity in HS. I didn't know it was possible to, and almost no one did (think 2-3/400 did). I didn't lose anything, and I still had a fantastic time with all my other achievements.

How much older? If you're 30+ in a class of 18-21 yo's, what image are you portraying?

I agree with some of this, and think some other stuff is wrong too. Pros of Cold Approach: 1. You get auto +1 for being able to be completely vulnerable with a stranger (if you're super direct), and if you can pull it off in an attractive way, great. 2. It's very nerve-wracking in the sense of how much it pushes you out of your comfort zone at, and helps you grow internally. Each time you pussy out or fail you have to question yourself/your method/mistakes afterward and seek some uncomfortable a…

Nice post, easy +1. I'm not that athletic, not well-built, not extroverted. More likely to sink into third person mode and watch than participate and maneuver. But I want these things to change, and I've always had a bit of a flair for wanting to express myself that has long been ignored in favor of what came more naturally to me. It's hard work changing yourself and fighting the demons of your self-doubt when you're going against 20-odd years of programming. Some things I probably won't ever ch…

I'm exactly where you are, esp. with this: geriatric faggot who is in charge and considers you his inferior in every way I want to say 'leave me alone, I don't want or need your wisdom' but I fucking can't right now. I've got eyes on this thread for now.

This is scary because it might be true. Definitely have thought about this as possibly true. I'll approach. Sometimes it's scary that I might get a bad rep or get known as that guy. But...I really want to believe this.

Yeah I lied on that one because I was a paranoid fuck worried about being seen by someone I know. Why look though? Guess you need a Purpose and some faith that you WILL make it. Hobbies?
/r/askTRP20/10/16 01:32 AM

It's slow though, I want to move faster / optimize / make fewer mistakes or learn more
/r/askTRP19/10/16 10:49 PM

My concern with this approach is that when you're alone and not ON, one day I came crashing down and my issues came back in full flow. I would LOVE to be able to do what you did, but I'm honestly not sure how to do so without the backslide. I'm not unwilling to change things, jsut that I'm suspicious of anything that suggests get-rich-quick, I don't know what your background is, how much you needed to change, where you were in life, etc.
/r/askTRP19/10/16 08:04 PM
1

If you're like me, you're in a hurry because you're very cognizant of all the time you've lost and all the mistakes you've made and you're not where you thought you would be. So it's an eternal game of catch up where you never actually will. I did find that pattern: try too hard => make unsustainable progress or burnout => hate self for not making it fast enough => rinse and repeat lol. Now I'm getting better at this, and thanks for your answer!
/r/askTRP19/10/16 06:47 PM
3

Yeah, this is me a lot. Thanks :). How are you with women now?
/r/askTRP19/10/16 06:27 PM
6

Yeah, I've had some girls tell me I am handsome, but it means nothing if I don't believe it, if you know what i mean. Plus with daygame you gotta really believe internally that when you're stopping that girl you are worth those 5 minutes that you're detracting from her, and that I think is where I falter - I don't believe it internally. I love lifting, it's a great time for me. Thank you for the boost, I needed to hear that.
/r/askTRP19/10/16 05:54 PM

More like at what point did you start to become comfortable with yourself, start seeing results with women, esp. if you're starting from zero like I was?
/r/askTRP19/10/16 05:45 PM
3

Hey, thanks. I've only been lifting for 2 months because I had severe tendon damage from an accident a year ago. I became very antisocial till about january, so really this is 8 months progress on actively building a social life. 8 months and only one date (not approaching every day some times too much anxiety/self hate/too much work to do). Finally I'd say stop looking at posts on TRP about guys saying "6 months in and I'm slaying pussy", that's just virtue signaling and they're all super thirs…

How do you tell when they're actually disses? Sometimes I feel like they're just shutting down or making fun of everything I say or do
/r/askTRP13/08/16 07:40 PM
2

My friend's responses are to make fun of everything I say. Present something new I thought was funny? 'Nothing is funny about that'. 'This is cool' 'no it's not' 'dude this place is really good for burgers' -> 'good for you eat it all yourself'. Strongly feel like disses and I lose energy.
/r/askTRP13/08/16 07:28 PM

Read the other comments. I mention that I'm trying to get them to come along, some don't think it can happen, others don't want to act. You are pushing the line of every other "hustler, entrepreneur, always climbing" guy out there who has a lot to say, but not much to show. Hmmmm, food for thought.
/r/askTRP12/08/16 05:31 PM
1

Probably what I'll do, I want them to do this with me - I don't want to be telling stories, I'd rather these guys were a part of the stories. They're great guys. Very self aware, so they're not the type where something pisses them off or makes them sad and they don't know why. Lots of scope for improvement and high ceiling. Oh well.
/r/askTRP12/08/16 02:54 PM

Damn, it's true, but kinda sad in a way.

These are my best mates, bro. I am not trying to be 'complete' right away, and this has a vulnerability curve I'm willing to admit to with them. I think they're all capable guys who can do this - if they get off their asses and commit, or try. I don't mind doing it alone, but it'd be nice to actually discuss things with my friends, you feel me? IDK, maybe a night out as newbies to game, we can pull one dude aside and say 'nigga you are hitting on the wrong girl, look at the one next to her, she'…

Well these dudes are really close friends, so I want them to have the same kind of successes - they can be players, successful men, assertive all-stars too, I don't get why they aren't considering the words instead of saying dude no that would never work.
/r/askTRP12/08/16 02:48 PM
1

That's what I want - I'll say 'dude, we should get started on this, I'm working on it, you're a capable guy, we can all do this together.' But they'll say 'no man i dont think this is for me', or look at me with incredulity.
/r/askTRP12/08/16 02:47 PM
1

Most of my friends wouldn't agree with the ideas or the philosophies I espouse now. That's the issue, I can keep my head down and act like the others for now - or I can be honest and lose a lot of friends. Whether it's about getting pussy or forming a sports team, I'm pretty controversial (thanks TRP).

How do you communicate to men? Same way or different? Alpha is alpha with women, what do you need to do with your pals and other guys?

I'm from a culture where age is valued more than wisdom/experience. What you describe would rupture the family, and is what I'm trying not to do.

Several reasons, some already covered by others: 1. A culture that emphasizes safe steady professions that also happen to be very time consuming eg. Engineering/medicine. No time = shit game. 2. Said culture also demonizes love and especially sexuality. Girlfriend? Disgraceful. Premarital sex? Dishonorable. In early middle school, I've been called up by teachers for spending too much time with girls and getting distracted. 3. The media peddles heroes and icons who are unattractive but follow a h…

Help, but not in an obsequious manner. Help because you genuinely want to help, he's going to likely be overwhelmed and you can help him. Introduce yourself, say you forgot their names, it's whatever. Remember, your objective: is to enjoy yourself, let no one get you down. Meet people, make friends.
/r/askTRP05/01/16 06:17 AM
2

Don't tell them, people don't like feeling inferior - which they will next to someone who's working hard. They'd prefer the status quo. Do you, don't brag, don't boast, if you want to hang out with them keep up the friendshsips though.
/r/askTRP05/01/16 06:08 AM

Introduce yourself. MEET people. Find out what they do, get to know them. DON'T hit on women immediately ; I sense you're not there yet socially. Establish yourself as a chill dude, and be interested in everyone.

It's not about being extreme, it's about putting up with shit that YOU SHOULDN'T BE. And just because he's a doormat to his family, doesn't mean you have to be. This I get. But after I say it, if it's ignored?

/r/askTRP23/12/15 09:09 PM

I get where you're coming from, but this seems a tad extreme. I'm not sure if roommate would back me up, though, he's very close to his family. He'd have to sever some cords. IDK man TRP on boundaries is much harder than TRP on women IMO.

Thanks, this is what I'm gonna do. In general, what do you guys do in situations where telling them to fuck off isn't a clear option? I think family in general becomes a sticking point and eventually you all have to play along, like some weird episode of Modern Family, making sacrifices, pretending to give a shit, and tolerating small slights all the time that can't be escalated because they'd lead to an open feud.

If you were a person who was approached by a stranger, what would make you want to get to know that stranger better and become friends? Assume the stranger is male. (A similar question is asked of women about what they want a guy to say when he approaches them, and of course they have no idea what they really want because they're solipsistic. Don't fall into that trap.) I'm quite solipsistic myself. But I think a first time meeting followed up by asking to hang out would be weird unless 1. We go…

I'm 23. I do meet friends through sports, but they are all similar, so to speak. I'm trying to branch out, like for eg. The best strategy is no strategy, just individuals pursuing their own self-interest, and a society that evolves based on the present interests of its individuals. Many ideas would have fucked up before the idea of cities and trade evolved too. You're unlikely to hear about the ones that failed. Society evolved because people realised that long term strategies would benefit them all more than any individualistic ones. That's why religion was powerful and backed by those in power. The best strateg…

I could be using my own parents as an example for the lack of pedestalization. Beta was the minimum requirement, as you can still feed a family on beta bucks. Being an alpha wasn't necessary, because who cares about poon when you don't know whether your family will survive the next day. About hedonism, definitely true. Sex was primarily for procreation, and I doubt whether recreational sex was a real concern. Are we richer for embracing recreational casual sex? I doubt it. The problem with embra…

Seems like arranged marriages in old times covered a lot of this. Girl from good family? Girl look okay? Girl treat everyone with respect? Girl acknowledge her submissiveness to the man? Girl virgin till marriage night? Basically, a decent looker whom you didn't oneitis with whom you'd eventually fall in love with over the course of time. Since you didn't have love at first sight or some shit and your folks picked her out, she'd be attractive but not someone whose looks you pedestalise and hence…

Social, public or elsewhere. If there are women around, your mind will automatically be geared to do things that will attract their attention. Yep, this sort of sums it up. Attractive woman around, showboat. Become life of party, etc. How'd you begin to 'realize' yourself as much more important and do shit for yourself? That's what I'm struggling with.

You've missed what I believe to be the main motivator: self deprecation makes it less likely that others will attack. People tend to spare the wounded, so calling yourself an idiot usually means the next guy won't. Women do this all the time while crying, for eg.

It's a source of drama/excitement. Women love any absolute value of emotion, but not so much boredom/tranquility. The proper response to this situation is to think, "Damn. I agree with everything you said. It seems a little....disingenuous to ignore people to me. Your example makes sense to me. And in that context, I get it. They are related by sentence structure. That's one way of interpreting the clause. Mine is another. I find it strange that you divorce 'respecting other's opinions" from the context entirely, then seemingly translate it to either not respecting people generally, or to not respecting that others are entitled to an opinion (essentially "agreeing to disagree"). I may not have understood the difference well, but the way you put it makes …
/r/TheRedPill13/09/15 11:00 PM

That isn't always true - if you ask someone to do something for you, a certain proportion will always ask you "why can't you do it yourself?". In this case, how can you NOT justify it. You don't need to justify your decisions to others UNLESS you are otherwise beholden to them in some manner, but how would it work in the case I speak of?
/r/TheRedPill13/09/15 10:44 PM
0

No, I do mention my dilemma in the last line of my post. Your interpretation is different from mine; I took respecting others' opinions to be a different point from seeking their approval. Those two aren't intrinsically related. While they often are, they do not NEED to be. I do not mean respect in the sense of 'your opinion has equal or more value to me than mine', I mean it in the sense of 'I respect that you have your own opinion, that doesn't make it accurate or informed, but you are entitle…

We want to explain ourselves. We respect others' opinions I don't see what's wrong with either of these. Especially the latter. We do not live in a situation where you do not question those above you, unless it's a master->servant relationship in some form. I don't question the VP of my company, but I WILL ask my boss why he does what he does. The second - There is absolutely nothing wrong with respecting other people. Or do you mean only their opinions?

Saved and noted. Thanks. Its thorough and we'll written.
/r/TheRedPill08/09/15 04:51 AM

Alright, that agrees with my interpretation as well. As long as the motivve behind what is said is "It'll get him to do what I want" its ok, I just don't like the idea of being afraid to speak that way. I would hate being spoken to that way, so I assume others will. Is that a bad assumption to make? I'd rather not wait till someone actually says "Stop ordering me" to realise it. And if I keep doing it, I expect it to get easier, but sometimes it stays just as hard even with time.

From what I've seen, a lot of women do that - holding on to / stewing in resentment till they blow or are provided with an outlet. I'd say it is in two parts: 1) Insecurity about people not being willing to like me and extending to refusing to do things for me because they 'dont take orders'. I have a friend for eg. who reacted poorly to something another guy said because it came as an order when a favor being requested should have been phrased nicer. Difference is whether the weakness is shown from a position of strength or weakness . I haven't lost my father yet, but that is one of the scariest things I've ever contemplated. The thought of it brings tears to my eyes, as he is one of the greatest men I've ever known. I'm in this thread to learn and to understand how to take this eventuality the best way.

This is a post where the title itself is good enough; there doesn't need to be any backup material. If generalizations are true, we aren't unique. We're all (every day) fighting over what makes us unique. "Oh yeah? He's varsity QB? I'm on the district soccer team". Ignore that you guys are both white, male, middle class, same school, from San Jose. Focus on the ONE thing that makes you different so as to hold on to your identity that you're a special snowflake. On the other hand, though, if we d…

It's because in several of these cases, the woman's SMV is not much higher(IF AT ALL) than the guy's. Not enough to get a Chad or a better Billy beta. What this guy's beta traits have done is artificially convince her that she's higher SMV than him. When he threatens to leave, he's raising his momentary SMV by saying I'm not putting up with this shit, I'm willing to walk. By simulating caring less at that point, he's dread gaming her since woman are so in the moment. Sort of related to RPS's ans…

Okay. Some misconceptions here , OP. This is only a minor part about the cock carousel, and for the most part, that isn't it AT ALL. This is about the fact that men gives exactly zero fucks about how successful a woman is, or how independent she is. All they want is for women to be homely(read:feminine), slim and pretty. So in the USA, for eg., look at all the open talk about manspreading, mansplaining, etc. The number of people who can boldly talk against women is reducing fast as feminism takes over the states. “Cultures have always had a preferred sex. In some eras, men are celebrated; in others, it is women. There is no equality in prosperous cultures, only a cooperation where one sex recognises the superiority of the other. The sex it is least acceptable to criticise is that culture’s preferred sex.” To see who you are truly ruled by, ask yourself who you are not allowed to criticise. This is a fantastic insig…

But sometimes they run too deep, and dealing with them at the source is the best way to get rid of them once and for all.

Provided that you're reasonably self aware and honest in what you're saying, good for you. Absolutes are for the purpose of Safety, we don't actually believe that every single women is a raging nympho for alpha cock ticking away ready. Whether you're beta bux or not depends on your wife's past. How does one treat a goddess? She can do no wrong, ignore the red flags because of the fact that she's a goddess .
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/15 05:22 AM
1

I think the RP view that most people here have is the one you'd get from a cursory glance or delve into RP posts; those are quite shallow and insist on absolutes. By and large however, we aren't Siths: we don't doubt that there are quality women with whom we can actually share some feelings or share decisions, but we DO NOT encourage looking actively for them. Or maybe it's just that bar skanks are largely the spoilt type that RP largely talks about.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/15 04:35 AM

I think your relationship may still be following the RP model; the issue here being that most people believe that 1. the man must make every single decision and that there no absolutely NO quality women anywhere. For the avg redpiller, he's looking for bar skanks, of course he would be forced to deal in absolutes. I'm more than sure that lots of people DO have quality spouses and that they can make theirs work damn fine. Does she find you very attractive? You don't treat her like some goddess do…

Asshole is a judgement - you're imposing a moral compass when you call someone an asshole. At TRP, we accept the fact that there is no ABSOLUTE MORALITY. TRP is largely about self improvement. Almost entirely. Getting pussy happens to be an extension of improving our social lives. I see no contradiction. TRP resulting in alienation from friends and family doesn't make it "bad", it's about finding out what you want and getting it. If friends and family are holding you back, cutting them off may b…

Too tryhard, your alliteration becomes weak because the words don't seem to go well together. If you're a beginning writer, I know it's tempting to do this, but style over simplicity is a recipe for disaster. If you like bombastic writing, look at GLO's posts. He makes it much more natural. Until then, less is always more. Message before medium

How old are you? I was a semi pro soccer player till I had two herniated disks, one lumbar and one cervical. Took me the best part of five years to heal, could have been Much less. Depends on the issue. Anger is usually a loss of control. Mistake: controlling your feelings isn't controlling your frame, it's controlling your state. There's a difference. Your frame isn't just composure, it's how you will deal with the world. If you think something needs to be addressed, address it. "I didn't like the way you reacted to X." "I don't appreciate it when you Y."

It's none of her business, and she will try to control you over it because of insecurity, as you've already surmised. Red-Zen has some good points. Who cares what she feels, she's an ex, don't listen to her. I told my older EX that it really wasn't her business and I didn't need a grand inquisition. This is good. don't judge her many (many) dalliances, and she really can't judge me. i hope you didn't say this to her. Don't justify your behavior.

My ex dumped me the day she found out she got accepted in her dream university. Life sucked then, but I'm really a lot happier now. I'm learning to steer my own ship, and loneliness implies you want to be accepted by someone else. With time, that perspective will change as a high value male is the person whose acceptance others want. This is phase 1 : denial. Go through the rest, and let the chips fall where they may.

The contention they make, is why are those labs dominated by men in the first place? Men being superior might be true, but it could also be because of the way things used to be with women initially considered not good enough and being told to stay out of stem. Which it was, we won't know, and I highly doubt the men of old were actually this articulate about the matter at all. They contend the latter, we say it is the former.

The idea of debate is that two or more individuals present their ideas with a view to finding the real truth. In ppd, most of the non rp debaters are not trying to find the truth; they already believe in their own idea as the truth and are trying to break our frame by convincing us we're wrong. They're not open to the idea of themselves being wrong. This isn't a debate. Do not engage. Also, OP, noice comebacks and rejoinders. Very clever.

If it came down to the situation in your first paragraph, I do not envy the situation of anyone who lived in the old place. If you're enforcing 'boundaries' to this extent, you need to step away. So does the other guy. I've been in this exact situation, as a good timid roommate who wanted to play fair. You're being extremely defensive, and it looks ugly, the rest of the world will see it as socially retarded.

You know they're anal to the same extent as you? My advice, don't get caught in my level of neuroticism. Good friends are hard to come by. People have ingrained habits that are hard to change. Bathroom thing is easily settled by you using their bathroom while they clean up. Leave the door open a tad so they feel the stench as a reminder once in a while. Or all of you take turns about all of the bathrooms in turn.

Best friends? Watch those strands of kinship get strained. They will, unless you or others are easygoing. 0. Are you new here? Are you learning how to set boundaries now? This is the most important point. Most guys (myself included, I was in this position a few months ago) tend to overcompensate with really hard and sometimes unnecessarily tough enforcement of boundaries to make up for never having them before. Try to resist the calls of your ego in setting these up. 1. If you're anal about peop…

Third paragraph among what you've highlighted doesn't fit. To rephrase what I said, there are men who know it to be immoral and are okay with that. There are others who feel guilt, but pass the baton with claiming what they did is amoral. At which point they are choosing to believe a truth that is less uncomfortable. Pushing an agenda, yes. Getting more reads, yes. I'm sad to see that, I enjoyed what seemed to fit the ideal of information without ulterior motive but I guess that was my own expec…

Disagree. IM's post did contain a small amount of projecting his own ideals, but it was largely neutral. The don't deserve a wolf pack, is a reflection of his morals. The rest is straight. Having morals isn't BP. Ideas are amoral. Actions are. There are a lot of bro knighters and a lot of people who wash their hands of the burden or guilt(which they wouldn't have if they truly believed their actions were not immoral) by saying hey hey hey trp is amoral don't shoot the messenger.

A really inportant thing that's almost never mentioned is that anger is a valid feeling and you are allowed to feel it. Even as a man. There's nothing wrong with feeling something, it's your body's reaction based on on external stimulus. Take a second, analyze your anger, determine if this Is worth getting angry over or further, whether this anger is worth demonstrating. Holding frame does not mean denying your feelings. That said, she asked nicely, so do it. Don't make it an expectation though, she shouldn't be expecting you to not play music at all or some such shit. What she's asking seems reasonable. Do it.

Hit by one of these, these referring to the anxiety attacks, not the people. If I had some trouble with anxiety that day ill struggle to make eye contact, etc. Problem with male bonding isn't this, it's that I can never tell when someone is pushing disrespect or if they are being normal. I tend to veer towards the former and this makes interactions very forced

More that I've had boundaries violated before so I'm super scared about letting anyone gain ground on me so to speak, it ruins the friend making process because I spend so much time thinking about what to say and how to say. I had very bad issues with people who weren't respectful of those and whenever I'm in a conflict in a similar situation it triggers. I didn't mean to hijack the original thread, this was just my counterexample. That said, I have no social anxiety , I talk to people fine most…

I used it have severe anxiety, still do rarely. My gut goes into crisis mode very soon and I often do not know whether there is a real danger or not. This is just an example, I wonder if the subconscious can be skewed off by great stress. Is it part of the hindbrain, evolved during olden cave times to Avert danger? Or is this you being in great tune with surroundings?

Phenomenal stuff, well deserved delta point. You do not need a reason to love yourself. You do not need a reason to be confident. These truisms are taken away from us when we associate our ego with things that happen to us in life or things we do in life. We confuse our identity with the things we do, and while one can take pride in having the drive to accomplish, to base our value off the cars we built or the sports we played Is fallacious, this is something that can help build confidence but u…

A lot of these are mere speculations on your part. Noticing things you don't care about; that's just a trait and has nothing to really do with interest. If the guys posting this are fake, who cares? They're internet points. Pay attention to those who have phenomenal material, like IM or archwinger. These guys write quality material. Sieve out what you don't care for and learn from the rest. You might mean well, but you sound really full of yourself. Maybe you don't intend to, maybe you do.

A strong point about rationalisation is that it is done in reverse, exactly opposite to the scientific method. While in the latter, you perform an action and then based on the result discount or confirm a theory, in the case of hamstering the problem Is approached differently. I have a beginning A and an end B, which I know for certain. What points can I fit in between to get an acceptable curve for the answer? A question that often bothers me is the presence of intuition or gut feeling. How are…

Nice point, agree. If not for function, the veneer of form will be exposed when there is an actual call to action. That's why being true to yourself is so important.

I just realised something: Dale Carnegie is famous for his book on winning friends and influencing people. All these are merely ways of having the strongest frame and projecting your frame so well that others invest in it. Isn't that the key for any orator or inspirational speaker? Your words spread your frame and inspire others by having an army that seeks a stronger frame before battle. Inspiration = you giving them a strong frame. Also, tying in with approach : when you're nervous your frame …

The model alpha you described, isn't that what Dale Carnegie describes in how to win friends and influence people? Sure, they exist. In the top 0.0001% of society. The Warren Buffetts who can afford to be the old patriarch, loving and warm and benevolent leaders of the pack. I also see these in patriarchical societies in the eastern world where this role is usually taken by the grandfather who is the head of the family until his eldest son takes over the premier alpha role. Not really, mate. Just finished reading mastery and some self analysis. There is never any question of motivation, or confidence when you're doing something that is your life's calling. You do it because you love doing it and your focus is on the task, not on you. For someone who only wants to perfect the art of approach, why would they be nervous? They either successfully approach or find a new way not to do it that will be avoided next time. That's because they focus on the journey itself and …

This is me to a T. To add on to this, that's because we no longer go about the task as a child would. Instead, we append an ego to what we've done. Our pride is no longer in the art but in ourself as the egoistic artist. True masters are children at heart, they have no ego with their work. That's what makes them transcend their peers. Kill your ego and let the rebirth Begin. Attach no value to loss or victory but to the experience.

Ive seen rurouni kenshin as well, but somehow never saw this at all. Several characters show great levels of red, must be said. Good for you! I didn't know how to downplay pain and I'd often tell her I'd missed work in pain. She lost a lot of respect for me. Eventually I had to split just for the peace of handling it on my own terms and understanding my own body

I agree, assholes just keep pushing. But treating a good guy the way an asshole needs to be treated will make him into an asshole. Most people aren't remotely self aware or honest. Culture is very big on family; two families get married, not two individuals. I owe my folks a lot, and unless something really big happens I wouldn't want to let them down in this. Related question: wouldn't this apply to any scenario in life, whether the person making us angry is the little kid who said he'd stop after four pieces of cake and tried for a fifth, or the guy who said he'd help you do X and never turned up. Anger in itself is breaking frame, but its not necessarily due to a covert contract.

By positive and negative reinforcement I mean say 'I noticed you did X well, but your Y is falling short' instead of only pointing out the Y. The more such Ys there are, the sooner they'll clam up and decide to oppose anything you say. I could be projecting a little at this point, I'm not 100% sure but this is what struck me. Statement of business. When you're above the law and establishing your reputation for brutality, you don't care where it is. Street isn't that different when it's a more mafia controlled place. If it's a place with actively just police corps then it's less likely, but village side do not, I repeat DO NOT pull any shit. You will be destroyed violently.
/r/TheRedPill04/03/15 04:07 AM

Mix of both. Mafia are above the police, often have them on payroll. Think traditional Italian stereotypical levels of strength, with the savagery of the primal animal. Shows of brutality are very common to set precedents.

I'm Indian. I'll tell you how this goes down. You like a girl, and she sort of shows an interest. Local mafioso likes her, makes his interest known. She'll be his, one way or another. I made a flow chart on this, and I figured the only people who were self confident were the guy who doesn't give a fuck about the result, the guy who is well versed in the field already, and the guy who is irrationally self confident. I can't understand it. However, he does say don't over think the result of failure, and have no shame whatsoever. TRP advocates 1 & 2, those two are easily attainable relatively. This is 3 I think as well, based on the line above about shame. Thoughts?
/r/askTRP17/02/15 09:54 PM

So I'm guessing a lot of people (myself included) are confusing confidence with hesitation. How are these linked? And the seniors are actually good fighters, i can't exactly prove it to you but I get your point and what I intended to say was he still beats people who you would guess are better than him. More concerned about the first. tRP always says you get confidence from feedback loops. What about this? This guy has always been confident and doesn't seem to fit the paradigm. He used to say he…

Racism isn't comparing stats to male logical inferences. It's when you generalize the meaning. Black guy higher testosterone? Probably. Makes him better? That's racist. When you say he's a better man because of it. One such black man may be a better more accomplished man than another. But extending that generalization is racist

I'll explain. What do hamsters do best? Run their damn wheel. They don't care about the world outside. They only care about the wheel. Such are women and 'feelings'. Women will do anything to preserve their feelings of indignation, however terribly rationalized it is. By hamster we mean rationalizing anything to make yourself feel better. The way a hamster would just run its wheel no matter what. Guys hamster too. When they make up excuses they know aren't the real reason why they don't do somet…

For one, I prefer to use discipline as opposed to motivation. It's much hardier and reliable. You're not subject to the idiosyncrasies of your emotion state. But to answer you directly, Facebook. Seeing people's awesome fake lives makes me want to make mine really that awesome.

I haven't read this yet, and I know I echo many formerly beta voices when I ask - do you not often hear a voice at the back of your head suggesting that being nice and compromising will eventually get you what you want? The beta is so entrenched that the new thought patterns are a constant struggle.

Reiterating she's my LTR not my wife. The reason i ask this is because I intend to wife her up. Traditional country, family marriage and so on. I've done NMMGY twice, and I'm going to start when I say no ASAP. Should I still do MMSL? Since we're both virgins

I wanted to write an in depth post on this, but someone on the main sub beat me to it. The idea I was tinkering with is that any man in a successful relationship isn't truly beta. Every woman has traits that she considers alpha, and while the ones TRP believes in are hallmarks of strength some women have other attributes that they pay more attention to. Some women from different backgrounds haven't had anyone care for them and seeing someone go the extra mile might be something special to them. …

In a way they're right. The mental aspect is what makes it creepy or not. At the gym, there are always hottie's way out of my current league in terms of SMV. If I think about one too much, i panic and can't even meet her eyes. When it's organic, like say her lifting form is off and I'm concerned about her getting that right it's extremely natural. I did that, and I did it well. TRP is imagined as a bunch of horrible people who never leave the basement. We're not. We're usually awesome or becomin…

Spot on, societal checks are all that's holding the system together right now. Two interviews about whether a woman would prefer a sexually experienced man or a novice In an advanced metropolis versus a less westernized one: more western => want experience. Less western=> actually believe in the BP lifestyle. I think a point is to be made that both RP and BP lifestyle are possible, as long as you understand the rules that TRP tells you
/r/TheRedPill03/02/15 06:02 PM
170

To add on: When you make a plan for life, you don't draft with the outliers in mind. You draft to cover 98% of people AND THEN consider when people may be outside of this spectrum and adjust accordingly. Not the other way around. It's not logical. That is what AWALT means. Not that every single woman is. Means that every single woman has a predisposition to. And you would do well to assume the worst to keep your ass out of the fire. If you're wrong, awesome. If not, good thing you were careful.

Completely agree on the hamster part. I've been lifting a few months but school's kept me busy, it became a dirty bulk. There are some aspects of approach advised that are just..embarrassing. I can't bring myself to go up to someone and say ring ring ring banana phone. Is that your banana phone? That just sounds..idk what. My inner frame was super poor, it's better now. But I still have a lot of self worth to deal with . which is what makes me think the hamster might have a bit of a point.

Sorta vague. Context? Level of involvement with person? Sometimes I find that even while leading expecting someone else to accept your leadership is a form of attachment whose denial hurts. If they say no, reason it to them and why it's good for them. If still no, fuck it. Move on.

I think an important idea to grasp is that water, while formless, never loses its intrinsic nature. When you know exactly who you are and what you're about, it doesn't matter what form you take. This law isn't about being a chameleon. I hope people get that, I didn't at first.

I loved big bang theory before rp. I can't stand it anymore. It's disgusting. Two guys driven by their women. One guy who's too pathetic to get one. One guy who's a sociopath that any guy with a moderate amount of sense would have cut off or punched. Ugh.

To add on to what you said, people hate when the status quo changes. If you're the same beta schlub as always, they are still at the same place relative to you and don't have to work on themselves. If you change, you're making them feel shitty for contentment with mediocrity. They resent that. So they'll try and keep you down.
/r/askTRP23/12/14 03:31 AM

This is a point discussed in TRP but usually only one side. A clingy girl can either be the faithful kind or the projecting cheater. What TRP will tell you is next so you can find another girl who doesn't have this problem. A rarely mentioned point is that you can also choose to stay and work with her. It's up to you. If she shows the qualities that you want in your woman you can explore the second way.

The context was different. I was talking to my non PC friend about stuff like this, she doesn't care. This other one got offended rapidly. That's not exactly what I said, but I see what you're saying and it makes sense. The problem was that my face fell visibly. Once I lost composure I'd lost frame. I'm getting better but not nearly there yet. Not sure how to get over this. I'd really appreciate advice. I'm 6'1 though, so I'm not small. Getting bigger.

You're not alone. In my journey to alphahood I find myself sizing up almost every guy. I'm more relaxed around those I've subconsciously labeled as either not a threat or friendly. I think this is OK, because one of the main steps to rising out of where life puts you is to start bumping your surroundings eroding l wondering where you currently are so you can size up others while you evolve

Thanks for your inputs. It's often something someone said or did. Which I can identity with as well. I want to help her change that.

The newer ones whose accounts are barely a week old are parroting lines like they know what they mean. You need to learn more. Next her, without context. Asktrp needs some kind of vetting procedure so that the trigger happy anger stage guys don't spread their hatred

Im getting better at being a lot more supportive. She never appreciates herself, so...everything counts as a failure.

I agree with a lot of what you've said. Problem is the working on it part. It's as vague as 'people don't respect me'. Not sure how I can help with that.
/r/RedPillWomen22/11/14 01:59 PM

Not with me, she is allowed to break down to me. I want her to learn how to get respect from others. Or to ngaf about these things.
/r/RedPillWomen21/11/14 03:25 PM

Reminding her of what she's done is not well received. Edit: she usually says that i need to be more ambitious and not let her settle for second best achievement-wise. On second thought, not being well received may be entirely her fault. She's going through a lot of shit. Doesn't feel fair to deny her rants. They're usually not even about the same issue, there's always something worrying her or someone being mean. Thanks for your input!

Yeah, for sure. Lifting weights, meditation, martial arts. Basically, things that force you to be in the moment contribute. I don't see how that would help the newbies in social situations though, especially since the particular kind of situation I'm talking about is when you're actually under some form of duress. At work, urgency at home, crisis situation.

Knowing yourself is optimal. It's the best way. Once you accept yourself and know exactly what you're capable of and where you stand, there isn't any doubt. But sometimes you have to learn while you are otherwise occupied. Or married. Or in charge and not ready. And you can't afford to let that week through. You're standin captain, but you have to keep it afloat. While you're working on getting your act together, let them think you already do. Fake it till you make it is only useful insofar as i…

You WILL have panic and anxiety often along this journey. You WILL doubt yourself when you are entrusted with the wheel of the ship and a map and the lives of people are all relying on your experience. To have a steady hand, you need. 1. Because the Indian culture in India is completely the opposite. Dads who rule with an iron fist in any family that is even slightly traditional. It's a huge shock to see these girls fall for the same trap as all the others, especially when they have come to the us and the west from that background. It's them venting, why do you care so much? Holy shit buddy.. Mind blown. This makes so much sense. You should put this up as a separate post and refer people to it each time someone says double standards. Question though. You know this. I do. TRP does. How on earth does society? How did they...slip, so to speak, onto this totally RP slice of logic?
/r/TheRedPill06/11/14 08:49 PM

How do you pull this off? My girl says I'm not humble and that my language is bombastic. My response is that humility is overrated. If I can do x I can do x. Why would I put it any other way? She seems genuinely offended.

For those who want to change and are going in that direction, this is useful. For the others, hamster gonna hamst. I do remember the one blog, since no one else really ever quotes from anywhere else. It's useful insofar as it tells you what stare you're in, now. And in a way let's you see the differences so you can see what separates your current states from the high two - alpha and sigma. Lots of people do this thing where they identify with one of the stereotypes played by a character they saw…
/r/TheRedPill03/11/14 02:18 PM
1

There's a lot that can be observed from watching interactions. When you're new, watching the flow of power and group dynamics is really useful to see who the real men worth knowing are. This helps sort of qualify different ranks. Otherwise everyone clueless would probably help straight for the loudmouth who is the life of the party.
/r/TheRedPill03/11/14 01:44 PM
1

No, you are mistaken. Alpha, beta = TRP talk for a mindset, set of skills and behaviors. The whole set of alpha, beta, gamma, delta, sigma describes group hierarchy. Not behaviors. It's not a hamster, it's a different meaning for the same term under a completely different context. Your first paragraph is on point.
/r/TheRedPill03/11/14 12:22 AM
1

I believe the sigma is a stage that betas go into some point during their self imposed exile. I now understand the game and how the pieces move, I can predict movements too, but do I care enough to get in and play? The sigma often gets in to play, gets bored and gets the fuck out into something more engaging. Those who persist and like to play are usually alphas. Both sigmas and alphas as per group hierarchy are alphas as per TRP - strong inner game, strong sense of self, etc. What they do with …

They help you become s lot more present and feeling like an alpha male badass motherfucker.

I would go with the latter. You shut her Tests down, mind I'm giving you a lot of credit based on your word. I think she's just not a slut, see what you can make of this. Sex was on date five, blowjob on three. Not too bad.
/r/askTRP02/11/14 12:54 AM

What do you want out of this? That's your frame. If you want to hookup, make a move. If she shoots you down, are you okay with cuddling and a movie? If yes, then problem solved. If not, make it clear that if she comes over you do want to hookup.

The objection is that you know she might come with you and another dude no matter how alpha if less alpha than you is going to get cheated on. And yet you hit on one anyway. /r/askTRP31/10/14 04:57 PM

So the issue with the video isn't that there's anything...wrong with it per se, it's that 1. It is very insular. 2. Lies about the kind of men that get blown off. As an aside, how would men react in this situation under similar conditions?
/r/askTRP31/10/14 04:40 PM
1

When you're getting attention from everywhere, I'd expect all attention becomes annoying at this point. With low value betas, as I've mentioned what's the point? What do you think about that?

/r/askTRP27/10/14 07:15 PM

Im trying ti cut back on shows and tv and games, to put that somewhere else. School keeps me on my toes constantly, so this isnt a viable option. Another problem is that for people to recognize me as no longer BP guy, they need a reason to acknowledge me. You know how people resist changes among you when you go rp. This has been a continual barrier.

More details. Also, what would convince them to follow you?
/r/askTRP27/10/14 06:33 PM

Exactly. The key is that if not him someone else. I am not OK with the idea of barging into an ltr. What I do need to accept is the reality that there are others who are and knowing what their motivation is or what to look out for is about all I can do. You can't shove your morals down other people's throats. They aren't going to listen. I up voted both of you though. I've had my girl stolen from me. Fuck those guys.

Agreed. I'm advocating that he keeps working on his smv, keeps subtly showing her that all the time. That said, if she's from a more traditional culture, who isn't an attention whore by nature, there may be some promise yet.
/r/askTRP20/10/14 09:06 PM

That's not necessarily true. Get more information on his background before you tell him to drop. Maybe it could work with his culture. And since we're giving specific advice here, we can do more than go with an AWALT.
/r/askTRP20/10/14 07:28 PM

OP, the others say abandon immediately. I'll give you the other side. It's possible. It can be done. But it's a commitment of resources you make with almost nothing in return. Are you willing to do that? That's your answer.

/r/askTRP17/10/14 09:59 PM

Isn't that the problem with correlation studies? They don't prove anything. They do find a reasonable similarity indicating that the presence of Y is frequent where, oddly enough, X is also present. At no point does it say either one's presence explains the presence of the other. This is why I'm not fond of correlation. You can't use it to make inferences.

No statement ever is a blanket one covering each example in an infinitely large data set. It's a generalization. Doesn't imply there aren't outliers.

What worries me more is that I'm not sure they're doing this form of NLP writing consciously. I think it's genuinely how they frame things.
/r/TheRedPill17/10/14 02:04 PM

I thought my question was the reasoning. I'll elaborate a bit. The asktrp flair was meant to promote discussion, or discuss interesting or different scenarios. What is is being misinterpreted as, is a replacement for the asktrp sub. If we remove the flair, a lot of thought provoking debates don't have a flair. I disagree with the idea of removing the flair unless we can replace it with, for example, a d&d flair for debate and discussion.

Being a grad student is not the focus of my question. It's a choice I made about a passion. That's not under discussion here. My question revolved around whether people in general find it easy to talk to groups of randoms. And whether my awkwardness in that situation was indicative of my own lacking in general or whether in was situational. Civil had nothing to do with being truthful, it is purely about the way I said what I said.
/r/askTRP13/10/14 12:03 AM

Well constructed, well argued. I'm not interested in random pussy. I'm an a relationship. You've responded well to a comment of mine before, which is the only reason this reply is civil. You seem to have life figured out, good luck with this stupid train of the thought.

For me it's genuinely that two people's time was wasted. I wouldn't like my time wasted like that, and neither would anyone else.

That said. I do think it is kinda dickish to invite them at once. The fact that it turned out well doesn't make it any better in that regard. I want to add an analogy, but I'm no longer sure if I can give one that wouldn't become some kinda fallacy.

Values are individual, and some people are gonna choose to be a particular way. This isn't gonna go anywhere. For what it's worth, I don't approve of that either.

I'm a grad student, I barely have time for the games. Living far from campus makes it a huge pain to consider it at all. I'm not interested in pussy either. I'm only really concerned about the interaction.

Hold up, in India rape is a huuge fucking deal because there actually is so much of it. It isn't like the west where spoilt brats get drunk and cry rape. We're talking women can't travel alone in some parts kinda unsafe. The maximum women do to put themselves in trouble is to come home from work late by taxi or rickshaw and get dragged off by the driver. Don't post stuff from India here on rape. Almost anything increases your smv. Lift. Dress well. Frame. Do cool shit. Maybe an intensely paralyzed person but I doubt otherwise. You play the hand you're dealt to the best you can. Do people get shitty hands sometimes? Yep. Did they have a choice in it? Usually no. That's the point of TRP. Accept yourself and be the best you can be. For yourself.

Dammn Munich fan I wanted to write a post about this but you beat me to it. Anyway, this is what I gathered. Yes, I've heard seemingly conflicting advice. Yes, I've had these doubts. My take is this. The average guy here has issues talking to women, smiling too much, nodding too eagerly. For those guys, stay stoic. Be unimpressed. Don't show it no matter what you feel. Do not try to depose an established leader. Not that it can't be done, but the failure will have huge consequences. You want to be alpha prime of the group, win their respect and befriend the alpha. Work your way up within the ranks or make a truce with the alpha so he accepts you to be on his level. Would not advise trying to out alpha him. I have this question myself. The answer I came up with is that a lot of us don't have a plan, an overarching vision of how to go about things. For the guy who wants his Nobel prize, frame is barely on the top of his head. As girlschase says, the guy with wide angled vision is always gonna hold frame because he barely gives a damn about the current situation. But I digress. The answer is, we live confused and having to poke and probe like the blind. Trp says do x to get y. It's simpler to accept …

Yes. Life isn't fair. One of the first things you need to accept. Some people get stuff. Some don't. No point questioning things UNLESS you could have done something about them. In which cade, learn and move on. Regret is pointless. That's where the abundance mentality comes in. One girl gone? You'll find another. One game lost? We'll win the next. Keep pushing yourself to generate chances. That's really all you can expect of yourself.

The answer to why is the last line of your second paragraph. Say it and don't budge. That is your frame. Remember to hold onto your frame like a drowning sail to some flotsam. I have a DT friend. Always the less favored brother. Got the short straw monetarily, his brother was an overachiever, never respected, mistreated as a kid. He developed these as a defence to protect himself. He's an A class artist. He exhibits multiple active personalities. How would you identify another DT? Can a DT be extroverted as well? I would love to see a field report, if you are looking for an audience. I wish I had some of these qualities, looking to acquire them on some level.

Y'know, I have a friend who's a complete dark triad. However, his empathy comes out only around little kids and animals. He couldn't care any less about other people in general. I just made another connection, he can never keep it brief, ever. A simple question asked to him will result in an essay answer. I've seen tons of long answers from you IM, not too many brief ones. Thanks for this. I'm not very good at picking my battles. Public area, so no bouncers. And far too crowded to find someone again. I really should have mentioned that before I moved. And the I'm sorry was more of an excuse me? Not an actual apology. Would it have been worth using the counter of racism? To pressure flip?

OK, I'm sure her response to this would have been OK, then find somewhere else to stand. We got here first. Where to from here?

When you said overreacted, I thought you might have been an asshole under the name of "holding frame" or something. Someone not being in love with you is plenty good reason to end it; but if you think you can take it be with her for a while only more withdrawn. See if it all comes back; don't stay with her if her reasons revolve around loyalty or rather if there's no attraction.

BTW, there are PDFs of zen in the art of archery, if you plan on providing a link I can probably get you one

For the second part of your question, I'm not certain there's a best cocktail. What would be the best depends on the context. What serves you in society probably won't be the same skill set that would help a highly successful surgeon. There's an article by the scientific american that covers this in better detail, I'd highly recommend you read it.
/r/AlreadyRed08/09/14 05:50 AM

So the thing with all dark triad traits is that the level isn't binary, it's a wide scale. People with varying levels of the psychopathic traits can be successful, such as fearlessness, limited empathy, sharp focus, etc. The ones who have these in moderate amounts can be highly successful, or also if the concoction overall is attractive.

Already broke up with her four days ago. Not even a text. I'm not happy compromising myself or living to someone else's standards. I could probably pull this back...I'm just not sure I'm mentally ready to do that again. Maybe in a few months. Why can't she make some effort at all? It's actually wearing away at me since I'm thinking about putting in more effort. The distance is killing, I agree. I'm still in love with her, but it hurts to continue like this. Thanks for taking the other side, much as I am loathe to consider this possibility. And so begins a new age of knowledge! Thanks, that's what I've done, I'm intensely second guessing. She keeps saying shit like "I don't like it but I can live with it" and I wonder if that just might be true, and I can eventually fix it. Feels a bit like I'm running away from the problem, and I could be doing more.

I'm hamstering a little, I know. It's our culture and background and upbringing that make me wonder if I can't pull this back by the reins. Unfortunately, I don't have any real good memories anymore. In fact, I can't really remember I time I have been able to rely on her for...support or anything, even though we all grew up in a very traditional society. I think I can no longer be "nice" even. Thanks for your reply.

What do you want this to be? LTR? Or casual? That determines your next move
/r/TheRedPill19/08/14 11:35 AM

Dude, wait. before you dump her, think about this: is she just insecure? If you go too alpha with an insecure girl she will flip the fuck out. If you like her enough, tone down the texting maybe. You say gf, is this LTR or temporary? We need a lot more info. If she's so worried, you might already be alpha enough to handle her. Stress on the need info
/r/TheRedPill18/08/14 09:08 PM

Wrong, did you read the first paragraph? She says clearly that he doesn't work, is a lazy slob and doesn't have sex with her either. I don't blame her for wanting out. She wears the pants.

I hadn't thought of it that way. Love the insight. Machiavellianism comes better to me and I do fall in the more introverted bracket. Great points throughout.
/r/TheRedPill17/08/14 04:48 PM
1

That's the thing-it's the one that goes most against the grain in terms of how I'd see the world. It's the hardest for me to incorporate. How do you think of life as a game when you know that others do care about you and will be impacted by your death? I don't want to cause them an unbearable amount of pain, that isn't narcissism which I believe is neutral, that is just disregarding what others would feel.
/r/TheRedPill17/08/14 04:42 PM
1

Oh no way bro, i understand your dilemma. I think there could be a few more here and there but I also get that the lack of them makes for a more intellectual read. I also seem to find that narcissism<machiavellianism<psychopathy in terms of cultivation difficulty, as you had said in an earlier post .
/r/TheRedPill17/08/14 04:26 PM

Think of it this way. A million men are in this beta position where they get trampled by women every single time. In order to escape, you must be willing to do what others are not. In this case, That would be TRP. Could be faaar worse like having to kill and that would be a horrible situation, but the grass is actually greener on this side and not because you're looking over with green lenses

South Asia has a different reason for it's seeming lack of assertiveness which is what I just explained. Order of the day for most of them is pulling their family up for the next generation, and they don't really care how they do it. Individual wants that help the family? Perfect. If not, you are letting them down, since working women are usually willing to let their husbands take the driver's seat. Unless metros.
/r/TheRedPill14/08/14 05:35 PM
2

I'm not referring only to Japan. I refer to most of Asia in my post. Most of Asia is still very family oriented, especially the subcontinent. Japan is shifting, for the reasons you have mentioned. I agree with that. Asian does not mean only Korea, Japan, and China now does it? When you consider the subcontinental part of Asia, none of what you said is true outside the two or three metro cities.
/r/TheRedPill14/08/14 05:24 PM

I think the issue here is correlation but not causation. I could be wrong tho
/r/TheRedPill14/08/14 05:18 PM

Most asian cultures are very focused on the success of the society or the unit as such, not on the individual. Societal pressure is a major factor. Family is highly important. Your family will generally support you throughout your education, but you will support them later. The dad is usually the alpha of the family by the way it is defined in the culture. You learn how to be a functioning cog in a system. The last thing this system needs is a rebel who wants to be his own man, note I am talking…

Looking for? Seems like you came here expecting a bunch of people to be gung-ho about it. I won't blame you for it, it's a fucking attractive idea, but not practical. I'm highly skeptical of self-taught martial arts, but YMMV.
/r/TheRedPill14/08/14 04:07 AM
1

I never thought about the second part at all - I usually do not wonder if people are actually nice, I've always given them that benefit of doubt which is a cultural thing. It is a good point, and I probably should just focus on self improvement.
/r/TheRedPill14/08/14 04:03 AM
3

Yes, I'm sure several share the sentiment, but it's a bad idea - you can't just walk around life like that. Fight club has awesome metaphors and ideas, but they are just that-metaphors. Join a MMA gym or some other martial art. If nothing else, join a team sport where you preferably don't have to face women, as you will have to go 'easy' on them by white knights
/r/TheRedPill14/08/14 03:54 AM
1

That makes sense. I see what you're saying, but doesn't a large part of that come from already having high value? To your bold statement: I've actually done that - thinking about what to say beforehand, etc. It sorta disgusts me to do that, but I'm not sure how else to go about it, that's the problem. Any suggestions?
/r/TheRedPill14/08/14 03:51 AM
1

Yeah, one of the ways I find that works is at the gym, but not a lot of people are into lifting. I'd try a martial art but my knees are injured, so options are a bit limited. What else could I engage in as a non-solo activity?
/r/TheRedPill14/08/14 03:47 AM
1

I'm just musing bro, you're spot on with the value thing. I agree with what you say. I didn't find it that hard before, and I'm stating that. Dale Carnegie-How to Win Friends you mean? Other than that, monk mode seems a good idea at this point, to build a lot of contributable value?
/r/TheRedPill14/08/14 03:34 AM
2

This is disrespectful, draw your line on where you will cut them off. For one, new people even men, do shit test guys. Some of this isn't too surprising, but if they're being dicks, just move, man. Not the end of the world. If this is a repeating trend as you say, you may well be doing something wrong. This is like a case of you-arent-better-than-me-but-you-sure-act-like-it, so what;ve you got that I don't? They're faking it if you are being honest about your relative values, and you're not call…
/r/TheRedPill14/08/14 03:30 AM

So you screwed up, no big deal. No lasting harm done. You'll recover, and next time your spidey sense goes off a little earlier or your paranoia hits you sooner. You'll get better at this game
/r/TheRedPill14/08/14 03:26 AM
1

I dunno man, it never used to be this hard before. I'm not sure if that was from a former-high-value perspective, or if life used to be simpler just a few years ago. That said, there do seem to be some guys who are really genuine, the....male-equivalent-of-unicorns.
/r/TheRedPill14/08/14 03:23 AM

Traveled around, I agree with. But then again, you don't know all the awesome places, dark shady alleys to have some one on one time, etc. Plus she can set the tone since she does know more about the place

None of the reasons you've mention are any indication of anything flaky. I'd say no, since she seems to have perfectly valid reasons. Give her a good fuck before she leaves anyway. Don't let show your insecurity, that alone would change the way she sees you

I'm not sure why you're being downvoted. This is a marriage, with a woman obviously attracted to him. Kicking to curb isn't the best idea in all probability. And yes, when the woman is super self conscious already, it's impossible to say something that doesn't crack at an already brittle exterior. How would one go about this in a reasonable manner?

To you, yes. But to the women whose reactions are used to gauge this? Negs would seem like disinterest, the push 'oh he doesn't like me as much'. Compliment 'or maybe he does?'. Either way this study is based on the women's interpretation of 'interested'

Look at all the other responses. Yes, there are always exceptions. But this is a trend. Psssh. If you're an exception good for you. A significant majority are not that nice. As a rule of thumb, when we say group X does Y, it DOESN'T mean Y is a defining characteristic of X. It means Y is prevalent among X.
/r/TheRedPill07/08/14 05:52 AM

Nope. I put forward my experience with one woman as an example, and comment sagely on a general trend. Which is backed up by all the stories below.
/r/TheRedPill06/08/14 01:48 PM
1

Exactly. What makes us different is where we draw the line. I don't owe her shit. And I expect nothing from her. That's not to say I will mistreat her. Ill just treat myself right. Subject vs object. Where feminists draw this line is by blowing this out of proportion, erasing our original idea (my second sentence) and making us seem misogynistic for NOT giving women everything they want.

This is heartbreaking, but maybe there's a reason in this case. His wife is holding it together only because he's a rock. The second he loses it, reality will hit her like a tonne of bricks. She will go to pieces, literally. She needs for him to remain strong so her sanity is intact.
/r/TheRedPill05/08/14 04:32 PM
14

I've never thought about it that way. That's a good point
/r/TheRedPill05/08/14 01:35 PM

It's really sad. Men cry when they genuinely feel loss. Women cry when they want something or don't like something. Guess which happens more often? You'd think someone who never cries would be taken more seriously for the sentiment that his crying represents. But to them, it's a genuine sign of weakness. I don't tell my current girl any of my worries or weaknesses.
/r/TheRedPill05/08/14 01:09 PM
2

This is an excellent idea. When I tell women they're always impressed. Men have always reacted the same way - so you break houses with one chop? Hiiiiyyyaaah! In fact I'm more into the dealing with men, and self improvement aspects of this subreddits.

My girlfriend broke up with me in the most brutal way possible : leave me on the hook, go out with another guy and tell me he was fun and nice to have around. I burst into tears of sheer pain and she says "Stop crying" with such an expression of disgust. I vowed never to cry in front of a woman again without great exception. Funny how much respect we give their tears when they are fake, and how little we get when ours are real.
/r/TheRedPill05/08/14 05:58 AM

This is standard female strategy (unintentional though it is) - Find an alpha, shape him into a beta, and then drain him dry while getting some new cock on the side. For what it's worth, you've learnt all this in good time, you got plenty of time to get things the way you want. This may be your thing, but DON'T GIVE SECOND CHANCES. Especially not to proven sluts
/r/TheRedPill05/08/14 05:54 AM

Exactly the lesson I learnt. I have nothing to do with him and he knows better than to try to mess with me again. I've learnt enough to deal with him now. I'm angry, in a good way.

Here's the deal, it's that she's freezing you out is an overreaction. I completely think she's going to try to cheat on you. If you regularly ignore anyone they will get pissed off. But this? Is strongly overboard.

You know, I wish I could do this. I always wonder - what if I'm forcing then into the uncomfortable position of having to accept someone they don't really enjoy around because by telling them I'm coming, I'm not giving them a choice. I used to feel this way when people did that to me, where I reluctantly let them come along even if I'd rather they weren't there. Maybe it's a cultural thing, my culture is generally polite.

I'm willing to try, If nothing else. Different culture, conservative girl, but she's coming to the states next year. Biggest test ever. I'm already on my guard lol. Has unicorn like qualities. Potential wife material the way I see it. Bitchiness I'm willing to allow for owing to work stress and lack of ANY companionship. Disrespect, not so much.

The reason I'm with her still is that I've taken the pill a year and a half into the relationship. As Rollo predicts, there is resistance. Seems like she's seeing too much change too fast. I have to slow it down, stop telling her things, etc.

Fucking A, Bro. I completely agree. I'm in an LTR. Here's the thing - not only are they incapable of change, they oppose it in all its forms. I used to suffer from anxiety. Four months ago. I had hour long anxiety attacks. Now I'm actively manipulating the same people who I was once afraid of. I am proud of that. I've come a long way. I struggled so hard to get these skills. And what do I get from her? You're different. I don't feel comfortable around you. She does the same things and expect dif…

I have three good female friends. All of them are very good girls, virgins, and extremely supporting. I can actually go to them when I'm down emotionally, and they DON'T seem to view it as me losing frame. Not that I do it regularly, but still. Very culturally bound (in a good way) maybe that's why. When my ex cheated on me (former beta) one was there throughout. She was the ex's best friend, and stopped being friends with her coz of her cheating on me. She didn't even KNOW me till then lol. I nearly shit myself at the last line. But yeah, this explains why women love men who just 'get it' and also why verbal communication never settles anything. Men communicate verbally because they usually straighttalk. Women do not because they powertalk.
/r/TheRedPill18/07/14 02:31 PM

Naw it doesn't love them I think it's more that hating them would change the status quo. Women and white knights abhor change in any form. Plus, if the women pile on her they'll be hypocrites when they do it themselves. Let's all create a support system so that the betas we drag around won't get any hints About our cover up act.

So much this. My roommate is exactly the nerd you describe. Will not go out of his way to make one new contact. He'll suffer for it later. I wizened up. I'm making contacts, making sure I'm memorable in some way, because when I call up for a reference or a favor, I want them to remember me. When people come to you knowing you can help them out, that is value for you. And for that you need contacts. Don't make it a one way street. Be able and willing to help you. Not please, or sign a covert cont…

Yes. They don't 'logically' want a bad boy. But they have a bad boy. Therefore, he can't really be a true bad boy. He must be a good guy or they wouldn't have fallen for him, right? Right? Whew. Rationalization....100%, sanity maintenance successful. Woman logic: holds in the court in their own heads.

Forget today. Forget tomorrow. Hell, don't even think about next Monday. Instead, keep working. Invest in yourself knowing that THERE WILL COME A DAY, when you will realize you are pretty damn far on the road to 'who you want to be'. Keep interacting, take nothing personally. These are your initial scouting approaches, to keep your game up. Introspect critically and objectively and otherwise throw yourself into monk mode. Monk mode will help you see women as an ancillary and NOT the big picture.…

Thanks for your response! But I'm from a different culture, where sleeping with lots of people isn't done at all. Most girls around this age 18-25 are virgins or have a very low partner count like 1-3. That's the nature of the society. And I'm not interested in these chicks but they're good company, not a lot like the hypergamous cc riding ones that we hear of. My LTR was under strain from bluepill-me, and I've moved to the US and there's a heavy culture shock for me. All this is just FYI, my ca…

I could add more information if that might help, but that would again fit perfectly into the idea of expecting a certain algorithm to finish as I want. Which is something I resent, if I trusted my own instincts more, maybe I'd not have so many questions. I'm from a different culture, a different background, stumbled into TRP by accident while browsing seduction. In my culture, not getting married makes you an outcast. So sleeping around is also not a great idea if I'm going traditional. Any book…

Hey, thanks for the response! Can you be a bit more specific with some of these? Like, what might be a sample 'change' implemented? And where do I start? To be more precise, I can read how it plays out, and give good TRP advice, but now it's my own, and I can't stop obsessing. The issue here is that my gut would tell me to do something that might not necessarily be TRP or generally very self-respecting. I consciously have to curb my enthusiastic and free way of meeting people. Any suggestions ar…

This is where I respond with a standard reddit comment - are you me? But seriously, a few months ago she was disdainful and downright scornful when I eschewed other female contact and said she wanted her guy, whoever that might be, to be comfortable around a lot of women. And that it turned her on a bit. Now, a few months down, she is insecure. I'm not sure what to do..

This is the kind of thing I cannot help but feel outraged against. I know it seems insincere and all, but how can they deny you the chance at education when you have shown you deserve it? I think I'm past anger, then I see something like this. Props to you man. That would crush me. Probably irreparably. You've made a man of yourself. Give em hell.

When I read this, I got the same strong feels I got when the membership increased in fight club. TRP might be a huge illusion based on curve fitting in the end (my greatest fear) but I'm hoping it's accurate and plowing on. I now understand where I once felt confusion, see progress where I felt fear. Different culture and different background. TRP holds something of value for nearly everyone.

Funnily enough, she did this when we first got together too. I was too beta back then and did it for her, then, after a year of pressure building inside I let it all burst out and we split. Not happening again. She says she just doesn't want me to say it. Hanging out is still okay

Your first sentence is brilliant. I will keep that in mind for sure. And use it. I'm in an ldr, so it's not so much catching as 'are you with any cute girls at work?' If no, I'm lying. If yes, shitstorm follows. I'm not sure. I hate having to pretend like no one else in the whole wide world looks halfway decent.
/r/askTRP30/06/14 09:50 PM

Thanks! I'm in an ldr, so the actual catching isn't so much a deal. More like there's often the question 'wow your friends are cute, don't you think so?' If I said yes, you can guess what would happen. If no, then I'd be lying. I don't want to have to pretend she's the only good looking female in the whole wide world. There may be others, but that doesn't bother or faze me in the least.

Thanks, this seems to be the most popular opinion here, and to be honest I don't do enough me things. The thing is, I'm from a different culture. I'm Indian, and my girl (also indian) is very low on the hypergamous feminist I wanna be free scale. TRP made me realize that, and that's just making this pedestal a lot higher knowing she's pretty great

Props to your dad, he reminds me of my grandpa. He is an electrician, plumber, carpenter, tailor, mechanic. You name it he does it. When he tried to pass these values onto me, I refused because I'd rather play video games. In my entire family, everyone feared my grandma (his wife). She was a terror. Her cousins, kids, etc.all were afraid of her. She on the other hand was completely deferent to him.

Varies with culture. In mine, a man can be shunned for past promiscuity. A woman will look at you unfavorably for having slept with a lot of other women.

Thanks! I've been doing that, working on lifting. I used to be a violinist, but I moved to the US for a master's and haven't gotten my hands on one yet. Is there any further mental aspect that might help one ...realize their own value, so to speak?

[-] QuietCont 8 Points 21:48:22, 28 May I'm not really convinced by her story, but 5 years is a long time to throw away. I'm think I'm trying to rationalize it in any way I can because it would be so much better if it was true. Here's the hamster line we were looking for.

Thanks for your reply. I've been going to a counselor for a few months now, and it's slowly getting better, but I can't rush the process. This isn't social anxiety, so it's not making me freak out in the presence of a lot of people or anything. I believe its a result of an uncomfortable living situation ( do not get along with a roommate ), and health issues. I was offered medication as an option, but I figured I'd deal with it on my own through meditation and exercise. As a further question, as…

The thing is, he's not trying to get the attraction. He doesn't really care or try for it, it happens because he takes responsibility and rises to the occasion and stuff. He's an old friend of mine, and a good guy too. I have some health issues which put me in not-so-alpha positions sometimes, and I've been hiding my anxiety attacks and depression from people here. Why I bring this up is to explain why I can't always be super dependable, sometimes I have to shut myself away. Thanks!
