TL;DR - If you mess up by apologizing, make fun of her and then go zero attention. Applicable to plates and LTRs alike.
Disclaimer: DOES NOT APPLY TO PSYCHO CHICKS, but why are you sticking your dick in crazy?
The other day I licked my LTR. She hates it, but it's playful, intimate, and feeds her need to not be bored. Plus, I think it's funny. Unfortunately, this time it really pissed her off. I said that I was sorry (mistake) and she got even more pissed off and went to the other side of the couch to pout. Eh, whatever, I wasn't that bothered by it, except for the part where I instinctually apologized. I knew that was a mistake.
After that I decided her pouting was annoying me, and in all honesty, her attitude was probably annoying her too. People don't want to act like children, but sometimes their emotions are uncontrolled. No problem, I decided to try to fix what I broke.
She was laying down, so I crawled on top of her on the couch, like a dog climbs on a person. I bounced on top of her, made fun of her for pouting by calling her a baby, and tickled her a little bit. She got even more annoyed, but I knew I had given her an out to stop pouting by making her even more angry. I went back to my side of the couch and continued watching Netflix, zero attention on her.
The thing about anger (as opposed to pouting) is that anger fades relatively quickly. About 15 minutes later she slinked up next to me like a kitty who wants to be petted. I let her crawl under my arm and smile up at me, and she was actually happy. Her reaction to my play had been to pout, but when I gave her an out to escape her poor reaction (and my apology), she was able to take it.
My apology actually created the situation, because it showed her that I thought that I had been out of line. Women are a bit weird sometimes in that they don't really know the rules the same way that men do; we are mysteries to them because their rules are more subjective than ours. If a man apologizes, a woman interprets that to mean that what we did was wrong, so they then hamster about why we would disrespect them or do wrong by them. (There is also the betaization/unattractiveness aspect.) With some obvious exceptions, apologizing for doing wrong is actually the thing you are doing wrong.
Sometimes there is a valid reason to apologize, but you should apologize A) only once, and B) be certain to make her stop pouting after a given amount of time (because she knows that pouting/holding on to negative feelings is wrong on her part). This is how you take care of A) the relationship, B) her, and C) your own happiness. Maintain her mood by not apologizing, and using playful provocation to compel her to change moods that neither of you want her to have.
Lessons Learned: Apologizing (with few exceptions) creates problems.
If she is pouting, make fun of her and then go zero attention.
If you don't make fun first, it might seem like you're pouting too (you become unattractive)...
...but if you mock and then give zero attention, she's the one boring you (she's unattractive).
