Dread is most often administered on purpose. I recently experienced a case of accidental dread that worked just as well. Here's a quick FR on how things went down.

My favorite plate came over early the other day to cook me breakfast and watch a movie. This chick has been cool from Day One. No real shit tests from her. She follows my lead willingly and we always have a good time together. I get the occasional "We should go out somewhere sometime" test, but that's about it and those are easily dealt with. After breakfast, we both needed to get some work done before watching the movie. I had been travelling and needed to make a few quick calls. She's teaching a couple of online courses and asked to use my laptop to check in on her classes.

She opens up the laptop and says "Sorry, I don't think I was supposed to see this. I think it's a spreadsheet of all the girls you're dating." DOH!

I had been updating it the night before, adding a new plate and a potential international plate (if that's even possible - FR to follow on that one). Anyhow, I was updating some info and left the file open so it's the first thing there when she opened it up.

I go "Oh yeah?", barely looking up and not even looking at the screen. She says "Yes, do you want me to save it?" and I say "Sure, just save and close it."

So now I'm on alert and waiting for the shit test to follow. About 10 seconds pass and I hear "I don't think I like that." I said with a slight grin "Are you on it?", actually trying to gauge how much she had seen. She said "Yes". I said "Oh, good for you!" and got up to grab the phone and make my calls. Her reply? "You are so bad!"

I come back into the room and she's still working on the laptop. When I sat down, she closed the laptop and jumped all over me. Needless to say, we never did get to the movie and she went home with a big smile on her face. That being said, I'm sure it'll come up again the next time I see her and I'll handle it the exact same way.
