I took a web design class. I can confirm, OP is correct in the "fuck everything about this" line. That's just a bad design, the images do not get your eye to focus on the writing, because the side pictures are too distracting (my eye kept going to the female head on the left as I read the opening).

The more I think about it the more horribly it can backfire. What if it becomes a universal conviction that bad, violent behavior reporting ratings attract women? What kind of incentive that would be?
