My girlfriend and I visited my friend and his wife last night in there tiny open floor plan apartment. This apartment is practically run by there 6 year old pitbull. My friend is a beta and on top of that even though his family has raised several pitbulls over the year, he doesn't have any idea on how to raise a GOOD dog. Now, you all are waiting for the connection red pill right?
I'm a natural alpha, my presence is always felt, a born leader, women always listen to what I have to say, they blush (including my friend's wife) and non-assertive men cower in my presence and most guys respect my opinions without question or reluctance; from the moment I walked in the house this dog was checking me out; now I'm no where near afraid of dogs, but I'm also not an idiot who trusts owners that assure people their dog is ok; especially if those owners aren't that bright and I've deemed them incapable of having the mental capacity to assess the potential threat their animal could cause myself or my woman. At first, the dog was just sniffing me...I'd let it lick my hand and sniff my fingers, you know get familiar. After about 15 minutes of the four of us humans having some convo, I noticed the dog would stare at me and growl from across the room. After a few growls I realized the dog didn't like the fact that my voice was so deep and would growl back at me anytime I'd hit a "deep note" while talking. After a while, the dog would growl, bark very loudly and get in that lowered position as if ready to attack. Now, this whole time the dog hasn't bothered my girlfriend. I decided I'd show this dog that I'm not afraid of it by asserting my dominance over it (something I've done plenty of times with other dogs, an otherwise dangerous decision if you have even the least amount of fear) by simply placing my hand on the top of it's head and placing my face slightly over it's "Snout" forcing it to have to slightly tilt it's head backwards. The dog didn't like this and immediately tried to regain control by placing it's paws in my lap over my arms at which point I moved my arms from under it's paws and placed my hands on it's paws (this is a sign of being the leader to dogs). The dog ran away from me, about 3ft, and immediately started growling and barking. I said in a firm, deep voice "What is it you want from me (dog's name)?" I really wanted to say, "We can get it on right here you spoiled mut" but out of respect for my friend (who wasn't helping the situation because his "remedy" to get the dog away from me would be to call it over, rub it and give it it's toy every time it would growl at me) I decided not to overdo it with the assertion of dominance.
I left his place a little later thinking, "I'm probably taking this too far...why am I trying to assert myself with a dog?" until my girlfriend (who the dog sniffed once and left alone) started telling me her side of what's happening and she explained that she thought she was watching a national geographic episode of feral animals finding there place in the pack. I just found it interesting that having the natural urge to not be dominated by ANY living creature is instinctual for me. Has anyone had similar situations? Do you think me and my girlfriend are complete loons?
