"You're never alone when youre with jesus"

Well, this is going to be an interesting one because Im going to need to elaborate briefly on religion. I'll use Christianity as its what im most familiar with. There are many ideas put forth through Christianity that are really just roundabout ways of instilling proper values in people. The idea that god will forgive your sins if you acknowledge them is actually just you accepting your flaws as part of the human experience, reflecting on them and trying to do better. The idea that god never gives you more than you can handle, that obstacles are put in your path to test you, is meant to inspire strength and courage, to dissaude you from lamenting the struggles of life but instead to believe that the scope of challenge in your life is directly attuned to your ability to overcome that challenge.

So people say that youre never alone when youre with Jesus/God. I would say that youre never alone when youre with yourself.

Which brings us to the crux of this post. I came here BP, beta, what have you and recall feeling Id never be able to go out to clubs, parties, even just coffee shops by myself. I was my own worst enemy. I noticed when I went places that I was fidgety and awkward. This self awareness was compounded by an idea of finite potential. I thought human beings were just born the way they were. People who were confident were born that way and would always be confident. I was doomed to always be awkward.

I developed a shitty sense of self and as such I couldnt be comfortable in social situations. I also placed far too much value on the opinions of others. In terms of ascertaining social status this can be brutal. Comparing yourself to a social adept makes you look like a social retard.

Through identifying my current standing and accepting it, I have a foundation of comfort that carries with me wherever I go. Through letting go of my need to ascertain how Im doing based off of external feedback and coming to rely predominantly on my own internal feedback mechanisms, I find myself growing more and more indifferent to other peoples opinions of me.

Now that im less inhibited by these social pressures that were largely manufactured by myself, I find myself much freer. I can say whatever I want and know there will always be someone in the room who has my back. Me. No matter what happens I will be there.

Self reliance is a beautiful thing. If you feel uneasy, anxious, its because you are mentally assessing yourself as being unfit for your current environment. So therefore, to relieve the anxiety, one must become fit. Both mentally and physically. If youre going to become a bolder person, youre going to be putting yourself in riskier situations. If you arent tough enough to handle those situations, something will come along to let you know. If its not a fist in the face it will be the anxiety, the unease.

Using the tools found here to develop your physical and mental fortitude will continually push the boundaries of your comfort zone. How can you live in a world thats constantly trying to kill you? Be strong enough to fight back
