You feel this way because you have no connections dude. You do stuff to better yourself(like lifting, good job, etc.) but you have nothing else. If you have a friend that lives 3 hours away and don't see them often, you don't have enough friends.

Don't take that critically or feel bad about it, just try to get a circle of guys you can hang out with man. Women will never make you feel better about your shit dude. Never. They don't have the capacity to look past their own issues. Find some guys you can get drinks with, play sports with, w/e. You need people with whom you can blow off steam.

I have had lots of times I feel down man. Maybe the grind gets to me. Maybe I just had a bad day. You know what I do? I go hang out with my buddies. Its amazing how just spending time with some good friends, no matter what it is you are doing, can make all your problems go away.

Always remember that women are the ones that need to be picked up. They can't pick you up when you are down, they don't want to.

Its your friends who will be there to lift you up and help you keep going when you are feeling down. They are the ones who won't leave you behind.

Take my advice with a pinch of salt as it's not for everyone and it's definitely not a 'healthy' resolution - but I went through similar and the only way out of it that I found was stimulation.

My life has been much easier since I've accepted I'm just another mechanical being - input x and get y.

During my biggest spell I went away, visited pro's for mind blowing sex, pulled the hottest women I could for validation and then picked up some local martial arts, picked up a few other hobbies, raced some cars and generally did anything that played into my minds need for novelty and peak experience.

Although I'm a long practising Buddhist(obviously not hardcore lol), so I was always well aware that it was a game, and saw it for the game it was - otherwise it's easy to get caught up in the hedonist pleasures trail.

But yeah, if I ever get into a rut - I take whatever money I have and either travel for a week of pleasure seeking or do something life affirming.

Sometimes - I just drive myself around some beautiful locations and find a beautiful place to meditate and flush all of these walls that are holding me back.

Wish I could help, but can commiserate. Practicing IDGAF works wonders, but in your situation there's liable to be periods of recoil. Meditation (even group meditation) is definitely helpful. I haven't in a while because of self-sabotaging tendencies though highly recommend it.

Interest groups are definitely a good start, because peer groups can bring out the worst in people if you're not self-aware. I hate it when people overcompensate, and I avoid people who remind me of bullies, more so for their sake these days lol.

I'm in the same boat as you man, broke up with a 3 year LTR in October and made some negative progress in my life over the following months - just keep grinding at the gym and in your personal life, things will pick up eventually. Just keep telling yourself she's probably already fucking some other guy, and that you should probably do the same with other women, helps with the oneitis that creeps up from time to time.
