There was no failure.

He spent 5 dates with a girl who soft nexted him and thinks its a success because she pawned him off on a girlfriend with lower standards. His transparent self justifications don't make this not a failure. Quit hamstering for OP, he's done plenty already.

You never kissed her after four dates?! That's one problem. She's been seeing you for so long in a non-sexual context that you more or less friend zoned yourself.

Learn to be sexually aggressive with women. Make it a game. Be so aggressive that you try to burn the date down each time you go out. Force yourself out of your comfort zone. You'll calibrate your awareness and ability to push things further after a while.

If your saying that not all relations need to end in sex is your thinking what you did was fine, then you're a little bitch. If not, you just acted like a bitch and need to change.

You are OK with the friendzone until she starts calling you up and asking for favours. I.e. car is on the shop, can you drive her to work for the week, toilet needs fixing and she needs a big strong man to do it for her, shoulder to cry on after some Chad pump'n dumpery. Yeah, the friend zone is great as long as you provide utility. She is grooming you....

I'm developing a theory that the friendzone isn't always a bad place to attack from. Hell /u/OmLaLa wrote a series on getting laid through dating apps where his strategy was to put himself in the friend zone as soon as he messaged them
