To start, I would like to thank all the EC’s and main contributors for building an encyclopedia around reclaiming masculinity.

Like many of you, I had no mentorship from my father. His check-the-box parenting style prevented anyone from making a case that he was an uninvolved parent. But if the effort you put in to raising/preparing your children for life could be likened to the craftsmanship of cars, he clearly felt that a Yugo was more than sufficient for the turbulent roads of life.

The information found here, and throughout the Manosphere has allowed me to work through all the anger accumulated over the years towards him, and forge myself into a man of my own making.

I have to shake my head that I have to do this in my early 40’s, and wish as so many others do that TRP was available much earlier. However as the saying goes, “S#1t in one hand, wish in the other, and see which fills up faster.”

I am a single father of 2 boys under 6. I have full legal & physical custody, due to their incubator fleeing state before she had to go to jail. Those events are enough for an entire post at some other point, which I may or may not inflict upon you all. But after my experiences, and looking at everything a man needs to learn to be properly prepared for today’s reality, I have decided to take steps to ensure that my sons and other children of their generation will be far better prepared as individuals than we were.

Our public school system is an abject failure; since the 70’s & the creation of the Department of Education, year after year, our academic performance as a nation continues to move steadily in one direction compared to everywhere else – down.

Year after year, the teachers union’s cry “We need more money! If we had more, things would get better!” More money is allocated, and rather than reduced student load on classroom teachers, we get an incredibly top-heavy bureaucratic parasite that ensures that the vast majority of acquired funds are absorbed by armies of “Administrators” while parents and teachers have to buy their own supplies.

After 50 years, we need to accept that this will not change from the inside. An alternate system must be constructed. To paraphrase T. Roosevelt, “Complaining about a situation without offering a solution is called whining”. Here is what I am working towards for my children, and others will benefit as well.

I am working to build a charter school, designed around and focused on one single goal: To produce the most self-sufficient young adults in the world.

Picture this: When a student first arrives at school, he/she is given a once-a-year stipend of school dollars. What for? From the start, the student has to “pay” for almost everything. Lockers, supplies, services, etc. Right away an important lesson is driven home, the first law of economics:

<b>There is no such thing as a free lunch (TINSTAAFL)</b>.

Along with this, a student economy will be guided (to an extent) to give them a better understanding of how things actually work and what skills are actually needed to succeed at life – not just college prep.

Classes will cover FUNCTIONAL math. If you want to go into a field that requires advanced math, those courses will be available as well. But it will be real-world-application centric classes like personal & business finance.

I’d like to make the history classes non-PC i.e. teaching that while Lincoln freed the slaves, he also thought they should all be shipped out of the US as they were incompatible with our culture. That paints quite a different picture from the Moses-esque “Set these people free” benefactor that was pushed during my time in public schools.

All students will attend trades classes. Carpentry, electrical, plumbing & IT. My goal around this is to ensure that no matter what market my students land in, they will always have multiple skill sets that will earn them better than minimum wage.

All students will grow some of their own food. Both soil & hydroponics will be taught, centered around first producing enough food for a single family and then how to scale to a commercial level.

The mandatory athletics program will include self defense training. I know everyone has their pet favorite art, but with multiple 2nd Dans and 15 years in the martial arts, I have a different take on things – if anyone wants to chew that fat, I’ll cover it in the comments.

This is my concept in a nutshell. All I know for certain is that our public education system, since the creation of the DoE, has been circling the drain and doesn’t prepare our youth for anything other than college. While that may still seem like an attractive proposition for some of you, I want to provide options. I’d be happy to answer any and all questions, as time permits.
