Positives:

Completed an early build of an app an got it approved for beta testing: I’m building an app which allows users to be more precise when playing music. Managed to get an early build done and got it reviewed. It is now in the testing phase.
Fasted for two days
Finished mixing and mastering a single for a local band.
Realized my physique sucks. I’m at 16% body fat and about a 19.5% ffmi. Time to work out harder and eat more while maintaining quality (mainly this)

Negatives:

Still cannot manage to get up consistently at 7 AM. Sometimes I even wake up later not remembering the alarm. Unsure if this is my body’s genuine need to sleep more or just my lack of discipline.
Still watched porn. Working long hours on a laptop seems to do this to me. Will attempt a clean next week.
Still had a cheat day. Would like to transition to full time healthy eating.

Goals:

Make my first Mac app. I have an idea that is pretty simple and could be done in a day of all-out coding. Will allocate Monday to this.
Fast a day. Will do it on Monday so I can get the time to build the app and the cognitive benefits of running more on ketones than on glucose.
Wake up consistently at 7 AM.

If I get these three done in addition to my usual tasks, I’ll be pleased with next week.

The Good:

Got a solid week of workouts in. I changed my routine from 5x5s to more of a HIT program for the spring/summer in order to lean down. The results have been great and I’m getting a lot of compliments.

Stuck to my diet. I do a fairly strict Paleo diet with a small amount of dairy allowed, although I think I need to cut down or cut off the pistachios. I’ve been keeping them around as a “healthy” snack, but probably eat too many of them daily.

Have been approaching girls a lot more and I can feel my anxiety starting to fade away the more I do it. I’ve also been talking to pretty much everyone I meet and my conversation skills have vastly improved over the last few months since starting my RP journey.

Managed to pull a girl on Saturday night. Cute face but the summer/sun dress she was wearing hid an alright body. Solid 5, not ashamed but nothing to brag about. Realized I didn’t have any condoms after we were already home, so we stuck to oral. (Need to tighten up my logistics and plan ahead better).

The Bad:

Drank way too much last night. Since starting my diet and only allowing myself to drink occasionally, my tolerance has gone to near zero. This coupled with the fact that I really like beer has been resulting in me drinking to near blackout two of the last three times I’ve gone out. Not healthy at all and I act like an awkward asshole when I get to that level. Need to practice some serious self control in this area and give myself a hard limit of 2-3 drinks when I go out. Also need to switch my drink choice to tequila or mezcal.

On the topic of alcohol, I still have a hard time talking to girls without it. I’m a fairly laconic person and alcohol seems to be the crutch I use to open up and be more talkative. I need to just man up and start approaching without it.

Broke a two-month streak without porn this week. Seems that the temptation is stronger when I’m hungover and/or pissed at myself. Confidence and self control issue.

Summary:

My physical improvement has made excellent progress, although I still have a long way to go with my interpersonal skills and self control.

Goals for the Upcoming Week:

1.) Keep practicing my game by talking to at least one girl per day without alcohol (sounds low, but I’m that bad at it.)

2.) Get a handle on the alcohol situation. Will be going out on Saturday so this will be a good test.

3.) Cut off the porn.

Social 10/10

One social hangout with like 10+ friends. Felt slightly off, that’s bad. Some crucial FR moments I want want to reflect on: sat next to HB7-8 while in a group conversation, she stayed with me while the rest of the group left, IOI noted. also felt slightly ballsy sitting next to her in front of everyone. Then sat next to another chick at the bus. Again, may not seem like much, but is an improvement for me.
Another social hangout with friends, was way way better. Felt pretty good. Some crucial FR moments I want want to reflect on: HB7-8 comparing tan on arms and stomach, which meant kino / getting close, IOI noted. Took a sneaky Snapchat of her and boom got social proof for another (former date type) girl (whom actually responded with a slightly kinky reply many hours later). Was cracking jokes throughout the day, was good.
couple of stranger girls came up and asked me (while I was with a friend) to film me for a sketch/school project. I totally lead the conversation (over my friend) and did agree to be a part of the video. Niiice.
initiated and talked to an HB10 that I normally don’t talk to. Felt somewhat stifled and weird, but still glad I Had the balls to do it anyway.
new idea I am going to start implementing, “nexting” my male friends. I want to be non needy with my friends and want them to actually respect when I pay attention to them. If they do not, then I will just try to talk to someone else besides them. I find myself being to reliant on my fucking friends instead of talking to everyone.
Been meditating some because I've been really fucking anxious about an upcoming party. Will write about that in next Weekly progress thread. TRP why the fuck is this thread of Friday and not sunday? seriously wtf. kind of done feeling anxious now though, at leas a little bit done.

Fitness 8/10

three strength trainings plus one run. Missed one strength workout today due to social hangout, but that was very active day so it’s fine.
Deload week, going very light to recover.
weight is higher than ideal. I’m not going to do any serious summer cut this year, but still want to be leaner than I am now. Next year and summer I am going to be FUCKING SHREDDED, mark my words.

School 9/10

one exam went pretty good I think, we’ll see.
otherwise, have next to no work left before summer.

Positives:

* *What gets measured gets managed:\* I’ve learned for guys like me at this age, Im very good at tracking & improving whatever I have a spreadsheet for. So I’ve actually created a spreadsheet for a vast majority of my dietary and health related tasks. My goal for the upcoming week is to track every hour of every day as I spend it. How much time am I really losing in commute time etc…

* *Melatonin*: Sleep was a very scary thing for me because each night felt impossible but I realized my rhythms were all effed up. I took one of these pills two nights ago and I plan to fully reset my rhythms and avoid screens all evening as to not tamper with my cycles.

* *imJacked*: I don’t know whats so different about my physique but many people I’ve come across from my past have told me my size has increased tremendously and I look great. In my mind I feel same as always so I don’t know where this is really coming from.

* *Cardio*: My cardio was really dwindling and affecting my heart, I just completed 3 cardio sessions this week, my heart rate was 130 at rest because of a sleepless night and stress. Yesterday morning after a week of cardio it was at 51 BPM at rest and stress dwindled tremendously.

* *Renewal of FAITH*: Religion has all kinds of connotations attached to it and I used to hate the restrictions but as I grow older I understand that the restrictions are there to train your discipline among many other things and I love that.

* *Took control of my privacy*: There is a misconception that because you are an ordinary man that who cares if companies know everything about you. But what many can’t seem to realize-it’s not about who you are today, it’s about who you might become tomorrow. As a high SMV man of the future, privacy of your data is a good habit to get into. This reddit account is the last social media account I possess- Facebook can track you OFF facebook btw…

* *meet-ups*: I haven’t really been optimizing friends/social life at all and I set up a swim meet up with a friend who was a former national champion(#2 in Canada for his age at his peak) & another friend who is an avid tennis player. I suck at tennis but he’s happy to help-what friends should be. I also have another one with a programmer buddy of mine. I probably will only meet these people once a month but if I can get one meeting per week, boom: slowly but surely I’m building a higher quality social life of people who are supportive & positive, come from wealthier-skilled backgrounds-you can act like it doesn’t matter but IT DOES.

* *I cooked*: I made pizza from scratch with farmers markets ingredients and everything & also helped with dinner 2-3 days of the week. It was delicious, I mainly watch short cooking videos to always be upping my cooking skill these days.

* *Spanish phrasebook*: It’s not much but whenever I have a spare moment I pull out a phrasebook and practice a few lines. It’s a start I guess.

* *Github training*: This was an interesting tool that everyone keeps telling me to upload what I have onto this site. It takes about an hour to learn and few days of practice to get the hang of it-if you are a coder I highly suggest learning it.

Negatives:

* *Task completion*: I tracked how many IMPORTANT tasks I completed in month on my Kanban board- ONLY 13!!! This is highly inefficient, my goal is to complete 13 things in an entire week and I got to around 8-9 ,not what I wanted but a much higher completion rate is a massive goal for June.

* *Sugar*: This week would have been 3 weeks sugar free but I must admit, I had 6 squares of a Hershey cookies n creme bar cause I was worried about blood sugar one day and I panicked , 2 chewy granola bars over the course of a week, and 1 reduced sugar chocolate milk 2 GO after a gym workout cause I had no post- workout.

* *clean room*: I let my room cleanliness slide ,really disappointed me but I fixed it by the end of the week. I’m trying to go paper free/only having one notebook as to reduce clutter in my room.

* *No Work*: I really need to start volunteering/working again. I need to get back out there and make a little mark in my community.

* *Grooming slacked\*: Let my beard grow because I got lazy, not the worst look but I don’t like it.

* *I could have studied harder*: With my sleep issues this week It was hard to study especially considering how 3H from this post upload I have a midterm but oh well-you do what you can and improve for next time.

Goals:

* Apply to 15 or more locations this week.

* Apply to volunteering at the very least.

* Go paper free as best I can and make my room way more tidier.

* Complete privacy switch over and delete unnecessary software.

* Make a final exam study plan.

* help cook every single meal for sure, make at least 3 dishes from scratch myself.

* Go screen free for a week, Im dead tired of always staring at a laptop for work. Only check emails/essentials via phone-nothing else.

Positives:

I’m the strongest I’ve ever been. 6 foot 2, 220 pounds. Bench I can get 225 for 10. I can get 175 on overhead press for a max. Constantly getting compliments on how big I am.

Girl I know at work is engaged with a loser and I feel like she is so absorbed into my frame I can literally have sex with her if I wanted, however I’d regret it. So I’m instead gonna friend her hard to meet her other hot friends.

Making a lot of money this summer before going back to college. 60-65 hours per week which really puts my time management skills to the test.

Negatives:

Don’t do enough mobility work, especially for my back and hamstrings.

Making massive changes these days. Been lifting and exercising everyday since april and noticing changes in my body and the stares from women at the gym and nurses at work. I am almost done reading the rational male (Thank God for Tomassi) specifically his talk on masturbation. This week I dropped masturbating and video games and focusing on my passion for music and learning german. The post about wasting time struck a chord with me as I am not seeing the results that I want with women and my level of skill with guitar, songwriting, etc. Working everyday to become a better me which is a positive.

While I am happy with dropping bad habits, I would like to see some success with sex. I have a new confidence that I've never had in the way I walk, look at girls with the "I want to fuck you eyes" and my general nonverbal communication with women. I have read up on IOI's, building tension, and seduction but I feel like I am stuck. I can easily approach and talk but I still feel like I communicate overtly with information instead of covertly with behavior) (like discussed in the book). It's like trying to establish a new mindset that I've lived with for years. Just struggling with seduction in order to move further on with women besides simply just a conversation. Struggling to escalate as I'm eager to be challenged (namely pass shit test and establish frame control).

Good: My weight/loss conditioning program continues to go well. One month in now. Lost about 5 real lbs. I don't count the 10 in bloat that came off the first week. I have stayed away from weed. I have an 11 mile, 12 hill higher intensity biking course I use, and I have also added in swimming. I did a mile yesterday. I also signed up for a distance swimming/bike event next month. I am pleased with how this is heading. The Bad: I do find myself missing the company of women, and yes including getting laid. I reached out to one that I have sort of chased in a futile manner in the past. My approach was terrible, total BP needy in the past. I am looking to do better this time. I feel my game is sharper, and I learned a lot just reading here.

Only approach in the last month led to the girl bringing four of her friends over for a pizza and beer party. Girl is just a 6, her friends 6-8's. They said I looked like Bruce Willis and loved hanging out
Still managing HIIT 2-3x a week. Hitting maintenance calories
Soft nexted a potential oneitis
Former plate wants back into the fold. Now comes over once a week strictly for sex, and she knows to leave without whining now
Negatives:
Haven't lifted in a month
Still drinking every weekend, and the next two weekends I'm meeting old friends so looks like that's going to continue. This is linked to not lifting as it fucks up my sleep
Couldn't close on a 8.5 girl that was obviously into me. Still get the deer-in-the-headlights effect happening
Despite all the huge leaps I have made in the past year and a half, still have defeatism creeping in. The highs of smashing new ass are great, but wondering if all this effort is worth it, especially at 34. Financially fucked for the near future. Still a bit skinnyfat. Greying hair. For all my disdain for mediocrity, I still lean towards the comfortably numb feeling of letting myself go. In short, I'm wondering if I will ever really believe in myself. Fuck my upbringing and my limp-dicked will.

Pros

Routine

Started waking up at 6:00 AM every day of the week, but quickly realized it was a bit too extreme. Thus I let myself sleep until 8:00 AM on weekends.
Limited my rest time between each our of work to half an hour, while also listening to the Tom Torero Podcast, so that at least half my attention is still turned to learning something.
Kept on taking cold baths everyday, which worsened my cold but didn't stop me nonetheless.
Ignored my phone for three or some days, making myself less addicted. Eventually I had to use it for a bit of logistic, but I've never wasted less time on my phone than I am now.
Increased the amount of videos destined to learning per day in my routine from two to three.

Social

Went to my nephew's birthday anniversary and talked to a chick. Got her number, but she lives a bit far from me. Will make an effort nonetheless.
Befriended a colleague of mine with whom I didn't have much previous contact.

Learning

Learned a lot about C#, cracked my head trying to understand arrays but finally got it. Finished a really simple Youtube course on C#, moving on to another now.
I am now able to understand most if not all of the subtitles in Easy German's videos. Watching a few videos a day has surely improved my understanding and I've noticed improvement on my writing skills too.
Finished Nietzsche's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra". Didn't enjoy the read, but the grind made me mentally a bit stronger nonetheless.
Stated reading Illimitable "Men's The Dark Triad", going to finish it tomorrow.

Cons

Routine

Didn't meditate on any day of the week. It is my most urgent problem to fix.
Failed to go to sleep at my desired time just like last week, but am still trying.
Skipped leg day.

Social

My date didn't work out. The chick was the one that cancelled it, but I'm not going to let myself off the hook that easily.

Challenges and goals

This week has been absolutely phenomenal for me. A few events happened and a few pieces fell into place to make me realize how little time I have and how much I have to work on improving myself, or, as 1dondraper put it, changing who I am. An honest thank you to whomever presented this post on some thread's comments, it has indeed sparked a flame within me. Time to take charge. I failed my previous goal of leaving my phone on my desk for an entire week. A few of the issues were external, but I won't try to shift the blame from me.

This week, my challenge will be to maximixe productive time. I've already set most of it up: one hour working on whatever I need to work on, half an hour resting. On the following weeks, I will be reducing my time spent slacking off.

Starting out here. Started going to the gym and did my first real work out in years. in Also got my eye exam out of the way after work and in general just have been really efficient. Read a lot of great articles on here.

-Still trying to impress and get the love of my oneitis even if she showed me many times that she does not give a fuck about me. I am not able to accept that the battle is already lost. I must stop doing this shit

-Jerking off every day. It wastes my time and my energy

-Getting bed too late and do not have enough sleep so I feel exhausted and it affects my mood. I should regulate my sleeping hours
