There will come a time when you stop being a pushover.

When you will decide that you had enough.

See, when the line has been crossed too many times, you cannot avoid the anger. The rage that comes from repeating disrespect.

This is when you make a stand.

And after you make a stand, there will be silence.

And then, if it's a woman, there will be a phone call. And you will hear her talking to her friend or family with her breaking voice, her sadness, her weakness and the pain she feels. She would look as an innocent, fragile child. She may use pre-existing illness or disorder and experience a panic attack or an asthma attack. She will be distressed.

And it will trigger your protective instincts. The need to comfort, to apologize, to explain. You will doubt yourself - have I been wrong, or too harsh? Surely, you do not wish to spread sadness and chaos. You do not wish to be a bad friend or spouse.

The answer is no.

You are not dealing with a child. You are not dealing with an innocent. You must hold her accountable for her actions, for she will not. You must be 100% sure of yourself. Hold that frame. Do NOT take ANY step back.

Kill the doubt, for a leader cannot have the luxury of doubting himself.
