Summary: An analysis of the manipulation of language that has resulted in the Orthodoxy of Betadom.
Body:This post, to some, may seem an exploration of facts so obvious that they're not worth discussing. Lately, however, I have been seeing a lot of posts and comments using words such as "sexist" and "misogynistic." Therefore, it is a matter of great importance that we examine language and the way it distorts thought.
First and foremost, it is crucial we make clear that words such as: "misogynist," "sexist," "racist," "homophobic," "islamophobic," and the like, are completely meaningless. Words such as these have definitions that could never truly be instantiated by any individual. That is to say, they're caricatures of real words – they seem typical enough, until their cartoonish features are brought to light. These are examples of pejoratives – words that merely exist to distort thought and end conversation.
If you're a younger (thirty and under) red-piller, then the aforementioned words will be all too familiar. These are words that we grew up being taught should never be associated with our respective names. It may not seem like it, but these words and any of an analogous sort, have a deep psychological effect upon those who learn them. The negative connotations of such words cause us to think in a particular manner. Regardless of whether we take them seriously or not, they alter our perspectives. These words disallow for open-mindedness and restrict free thought through an aversive mechanism. To clarify, this means we unconsciously avoid certain thoughts in order to minimize conscious consistency with what is viewed as immoral.
Having introduced pejoratives and their functions, we can begin to demonstrate how they’ve birthed the all too common Beta. Before continuing, it is important we note – the Beta is a victim and we mustn’t ‘victim blame.’ Now, once we realize that language is both an integral part of human development and everyday interaction, it is impossible to deny that it shapes us as individuals. Language, for humans, is as much an environmental stimulus as rain, sleet, or snow. If the values that shape language use are harsh, the demeanor of its speakers will similarly be harsh. If the values that shape language are weak, the demeanor of its speakers will be one of weakness. Thus, if leftists (e.g., progressives, feminists, SJWs) control the zeitgeist, then the character of their language is altered accordingly, which then, changes the character of its common speaker. It is here that we see the emergence of the Beta. That poor creature that first learns constricted language, then speaks constricted language, and finally thinks constricted language. The limits of the Beta’s language are the limits of its world.
Some might discern an apparent chicken-or-egg causality dilemma from all of this. Specifically, you might be asking yourselves: “What came first the Beta or its language?” To answer this question – the Beta did not invent pejorative language; instead, the Beta is the progeny of this language.
Lessons Learned: The adoption of leftist lexicon has spawned countless Betas. We must avoid using pejorative language as much as possible – this will loosen its stranglehold on free thought. Our very recognition of such language in conversation only perpetuates its legitimacy and from this: we have nothing to gain and everything to lose.
