(Did a quick search of the sub. Saw a few posts about FB, but mostly rants or specific stuff. I'm looking for a more general discussion.)

First, any pertinent and/or definitive articles on Facebook from the RP perspective that are worth checking out?

So, what do you all consider an acceptable RP stance on Facebook? Do you use it? Is it a waste of time? Any technical pointers from you more experienced RPers? (I'm certainly no expert.)

Are there any fundamental --- that is, obvious once you see them --- differences between the way a beta and a genuine, max-level alpha uses (or doesn't use) Facebook?

Do you guys consider Facebook to be a female- or male-centric environment?

My brief, and admittedly matter-of-fact thoughts: FB must be a female-centric environment, because --- obviously --- it's much more about mere communication than action.

Nonetheless, I think FB can have a place in a genuine alpha male's lifestyle. At very least, it's useful to keep in touch with certain people, to maintain membership in certain organizations, and keep up with social events.

What I'm not so sure about is whether FB is good for any more than this.
