There are no universal truths. The “truths” that we know are only scratching the surface. Every “truth” that we “know” is untrue in the fact that someone else knows the real truth behind it. However, someone else knows the real truth behind that real truth; for every layer of truth there is a deeper layer of truth that most are unaware of.
Example:
Truth from person A’s perspective: I have a feeling that Company X is about to exponentiate its value, lemme buy some stock in it. After all, there’s a 50% chance it will grow. It can either grow or not grow, therefore, 1 in 2 odds.
Layer 1: That doesn’t mathematically equate to a 50% chance because the odds of ‘not growing’ are in general going to be way higher than those of ‘growing’.
Layer 2: It isn’t that the odds of ‘not growing’ are always higher than those of ‘growing’, it’s that the two do not have to be the same.
Theoretically, the amount of layers to a truth is infinite. There are a lot of (infinite) variables at play when it comes to this universe and it’s silly to think that human understanding can consider them all and effectively draw a ‘truth’ from them (we don’t even know how much we don’t know, and we never will!).
My point isn’t that “EVERYTHING WE KNOW IS A LIE!!!” The reason why this is important is that we need to realize that the idea of universal truth is flawed. Take everything you see and hear with a grain of salt, be a skeptic. I mean think about it. Every truth is true until it’s proven untrue.
