Summary: I describe the differences I notice between high value men that are desired by women and respected by society versus low value men that don't do that well and aren't that loved by society. The differences I am describing have to do with how these men act and present themselves in public, not what actually makes them high or low value (looks, money, status, etc.).

Body:

I am a straight male but I think most of us who are straight can admit that a guy is good looking if he is good looking.

High value = attractive guy that is sought after by people and women Low value = ugly or plain looking guy that is not respected by people and ignored by women

Over the years I have started to notice some major differences between how guys that are good looking and usually sought after by people versus guys that are plain/average and usually not that successful with people. I used to wonder why the "halo effect" existed until I had a chance to interact with many people over the years and witnessed it for myself. For some reason, I've noticed that most ugly and unaesthetic low value men I have come across in social interactions, I usually wanted nothing to do with them after a while. For a second I thought I was discriminating against guys because of how they look but I noticed that there was something in the behavior of the handsome guys sought after by women versus the ugly nerds that women ignored.

  • High value guys tend to uplift guys while low value guys will often take verbal jabs at others to uplift themselves

Some of the most bitter guys I have met were nerds while some of the most positive guys I have met were either jocks or charismatic fraternity brothers. I often notice that nerds and low value men will insult their friends in front of others to make themselves appear better than them. Even when I have socially interacted with guys, I notice that the low value guys will often find flaws in every person in the room and gossip about them as a way to get some cheap laughs.

  • High value guys tend to shy away from the attention while low value guys are just desperate for it

I notice that the uglier, less attractive, and low value guys in general are also the loudest and most desperate for attention. A lot of the low value guys I see are usually loud, often bragging about their achievements to the person they are talking to so the entire room can hear them, and desperate to get attention of the room. High value guys I have socialized with tend to talk in a lower voice and shy away from the attention that comes in their direction.

  • High value guys are often tactful while low value guys go around looking for confrontation

Low value guys tend to be quick to anger, get violent, and often try to provoke others while high value guys are the exact opposite. Most high value guys I have met tend to find a way to control the situation to where a confrontation does not happen and they can laugh at themselves at times. I notice that high value guys respond to criticisms and insults with a laugh and have a very thick skin while low value guys will often anger at even the slightest insult.

  • Low value guys are often hateful while high value guys are very accepting

Low value guys to some degree tend to be bigoted and racist while high value guys are usually very accepting. I notice that low value guys will often make race jokes and say some disturbing things about other nationalities while high value guys often refrain from doing any of that in a lot of cases. A lot of the guys I know who cared a lot about things like nationalism, racial purity, and anti-immigration politics were often low value neckbeard types and rarely high value guys. High value guys tend to not even care that much about the politics or at least know to keep their mouths closed in front of many other people.

  • Low value guys want to tell you their sad life story while high value guys want to hear yours

Low value guys want to tell you how hard life has been for them, how the world is cruel towards them, and how life is so unfair to them while high value guys want to hear your story. Whenever I am talking to a high value guy, I always feel like I am doing more of the talking than him. In talking to low value guys, I notice that they are the ones dominating the conversation and doing most of the talking.

I know there are more differences that exist but those five immediately came to mind for me.

Lessons learned:

Not only do high value and low value differ in how they are perceived but also in how they act.
