I have been dating a girl for about 9 months now, and recently discovered that she most likely has been cheating on me.

Likely... hmmm...

part of the texts I saw were about how she wished she was dead because she felt so bad about cheating on me.

So you read her writing that she felt bad about cheating, but it's just "most likely"? Ah ok well... She didn't cheat at all. It's all just an illusion.

She has a close family friend that had just joined the marines in the summer that this is with. She basically was like an older sister to him during the last ~6 years, but he always had a crush on her.

Oh, he's in the marines huh... well, color me surprised.

I became suspicious when I was in the car while they were talking on the phone. Because he doesn't have much time to use his phone still, she didn't want to miss a chance to talk to him. The way they talked to each other didn't seem quite right. So then I did something that I regret and looked through her texts.

Heh.

Apparently before leaving for bootcamp, they had passed out on the couch together, and her sister found them in the morning with his arm around her. At least this is what she told me when she came back from her visit with her family. I'm not so sure I believe that is everything anymore.

Yeah, nothing happened or anything. She's just relaxing with a marine's arm around her neck.

I confronted her a few days ago about it, bringing up that couch incident, and about how it was weird listening to them on the phone in the car. She flat out denied that anything had happened between them, and would try to make it more clear to him that his crush on her wasn't healthy for anyone.

Of course. She never cheated at all, now she will push away Mr Marine and return to your loving arms.

I can forgive her if she just tells me the truth and is willing to make sure that he will never get the chance to be with her. But lying to me again will not make that something I think I can do.

Kill me...
