On the virtue of setting boudaries, or how one poor man got abused by his ex-wife.

Good news, everyone!

Vasagel. In India it is currently in human trials and in europe the next step is a baboon study. donations are more then welcome (as pointed out on the website the amount is not as important as the total number of people which donate... this helps for further grants)

I dont have any disposable income, but you guys should really back this. I've been keeping an eye on it, I'll be one of the first to get it in the states.

It completely reversible with a liquid solution. Also the gel they insert into your sperm tube cost less than the actual syringe used

IF it happened, I'd expect it to be available for a maximum of 5 years before it starts getting banned, first in the feminist dystopias like France, Sweden, Australia, Canada etc then the rest (except probably the Middle East)

Whether they'll cite some bullshit safety concerns or just outright say "Men shouldn't be able to have control of their fertility because it robs women of their power to get pregnant [and make men pay for it]" who knows.

But birth rates will drop to zero without a massive change in the incentives society and women give men to have children, and since women have absolutely zero interest in increasing those incentives, daddy government will have to step in and stop those nasty men hogging all their bodily autonomy.

Don't get your hopes up.

They've said a male BC is within 5 years, for a couple of decades now.

Whatever happened with RISAG?

[–]du-musst-bahn-fahren0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess you mean RISUG

Vasalgel was inspired by the work on a polymer contraceptive called RISUG®, which is in advanced clinical trials in India; some of the men have been using RISUG® for more than 15 years. But right now, only local men near the study

Calling it a breakthrough is an understatement. The day this gets released to the world it will be the beginning of something extraordinary. This is exactly why the red pill is needed. To be prepared to maximize your chances in the sexual market when there is no purpose or consequences to sex except pleasure.

No purpose or consequences to sex except pleasure.

I don't know if that excites me or scares me..

[–]PinkfloydPurplefloyd[S] 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

These days most sex is already for pleasure. What this contraceptive will do will finally give guys an option to opt out of forced fatherhood, a phenomenon that ruins thousands of young men's lives. Birth rates are going to fall to absolute shit.

[–]SpinalArt4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Absolutely right. It will be interesting to see how things turn out as far as both sexes not needing anything from each other except sex.

[–]nSaneMadness7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'd expect to see society start to crumble, and a mass increase in shame tactics against men. A significant drop in birth rates, and because no woman can play the "I'm pregnant" marriage trap, a decrease in marriage (and in correlation, divorce as well).

But I wouldn't get my hopes up over another male BC claim.

And getting STDs, don't get too hyped up on it.

No babies, dick falling off is still a raw deal.

[–]CptConfused2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I wonder what would happen with our testosterone levels

[–]Clauderoughly4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

nothing I would expect. This isn't a hormone based treatment, it interferes with a protein that helps the sperm move.

So the swimmers are being created, just with neutered tails.

Yes Just in time for my thirties.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No cumshots anymore? Fuck, that ruins all my fun, not going to take it.

[–]tsudonimh8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's not going to stop you making a sticky mess, there's just no swimmers in the pool.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Looks like I misunderstood: "The mice had sex normally, but no sperm was ejaculated."

[–]Clauderoughly3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

All the normal supporting fluids, just no swimmers in it
