I had a knock on my classroom door a few weeks ago, and opened it to find a kid and his entourage poised to "prompose" to one of my students. Flowers in hand, posters, the works. Of course, at that point it was too late to warn this guy of his folly; and the girl, who apparently knew it was coming, went out into the hall with a deer-in-the-headlights look on her face.

It turns out that this young man was not only not the girl's boyfriend, but that the girl already had a boyfriend who attends our school. She had indeed learned about the promposal in advance (thanks to the wonderful grapevine that is social media), and now she was forced to face that ridiculous scenario with a boy in whom she wasn't the slightest bit interested making an over-the-top production of asking her out on a first date.

From reports, she was going to accept initially to save the boy embarrassment and let him down easy later. I actually felt sorry for her, until talking to her about it subsequently revealed that she was intending to go with the (older) guy after all, not because she was won over by his proposal, but rather because she really wants to go to prom and neither she nor her boyfriend are 12th graders (i.e. old enough to attend without being the date of a senior).

So much Red Pill wisdom in this episode...

I thought my school had it bad, but this is absolutely disgusting. I physically had to shut it off at the blindfold part.
