As a high schooler, I feel that this sub is a bit lacking in teenager-oriented RP content. After all, there is no better time than one's teenage years to chase girls, go full-on BP in relationships, be awkward, get broken, and generally make mistakes. It's the time to find out what works, and what doesn't. Having swallowed the red pill over the summer, I took this attitude to heart at my new school and, by March, had gotten with my first ever girlfriend (we'll call her "C").

Though I had focused throughout the year on cultivating an RP attitude, I couldn't help but put C on a pedestal; she was the cutest thing I'd ever seen, but also had a good personality and sense of humor (for a girl), so I always had to fight the urge to randomly compliment her.

However, our relationship came to a halt after a few weeks (as high school relationships often do) when C told me that she was "temporarily" breaking up with me. She stressed the fact that she really, truly liked me, but didn't want any relationship with anyone for a time. I practiced maintaining frame, kept things light-hearted, and took C's word for it, since she was so adamant about having feelings for me.

Fast forward I don't know how many weeks to today: no word from her at all about how she feels, but I had remained optimistic the entire time. Surely, I thought, C is too mature to withhold information from me. She's no average girl. But then, I accidentally discovered on her "diary" which she had left behind in a classroom. The contents of it shattered the pedestal I had placed her upon; though she thought that I was "cute" and "funny" and good at listening, it turned out that she really didn't like me that much. She was still infatuated with her first boyfriend, "B," whom she had previously claimed to regret dating. According to one of C's friends, B had ignored her for a long period of time, and C herself wrote that he was "more interested in talking than listening." Yet, she was in love, praying to God that he wouldn't find a new girlfriend so that she could spend the summer with him.

I had read about TRP concepts such as "the pedestal" before, but never before had I witnessed anything like this firsthand. What I thought was my ideal girlfriend turned out to be a textbook example of a girl who is attracted to the unattainable, the unavailable. In all likelihood, B barely even cares about her. He can afford to ignore her emails, tune out what she has to say, maybe take advantage of that teenage pussy once she's legal. Basically, his aloofness drives C crazy. I'm probably gonna stop associating with her, since I would always have to live in B's shadow if we got back together.

**Slowly but surely, I'm learning by experience, and that's what TRP is all about.***
