I had a discussion with a friend last night and I thought that I'd like your perspective on it.

My background:

  1. I take things pretty slow relationship wise. Sex is not exclusively for relationships.
  2. Spinning plates (duh)

His background:

  1. Studying to be a surgeon
  2. Got into an exclusive relationship way too quickly with a woman who turned out to literally be psycho and when he tried to break up with her, she tried to beat him up.

So we discussed breaking up. My feelings were that unless you are serious about her, breaking up via text or fading away is sufficient. He lost his shit, calling me a coward, ad hominem, etc.

This is dating in this century and women are used to it. They don't need to be protected from hurt feelings. Besides, having personally had an explosive breakup, I'm a little more careful about it.

So how do you guys break up?

Edit: just wanted you guys to know that over email today, I was accused of being 1) misogynistic, 2) racist, 3) an asshole. This guy is a joke, I don't think I will consider him a friend anymore.
