Intro

I’ve noticed that beta males have very rigid and literal thinking patterns. Reality, to them, isn’t malleable. They have trouble imagining any type of lifestyle outside of the one they were exposed to growing up.

In reality, there are many takes on “the best way to live.” For instance, my college friends and I all lived together and were into the same stuff in our early 20s. After graduation, though, we took very different paths:

  • Friend 1 moved to the LA suburbs, and became laser focused on his career. He lives in monk mode 24/7, and has sworn of partying and even socializing for the most part.

  • Friend 2 works remotely and is thus able to travel whenever he wants. He’s a huge Tinder player (I’ve tried to get him to write a post on his strategies for TRP), and enjoys having copious amounts of casual sex.

  • Friend 3 lives with a bunch of roommates in Chicago. They rent a big house that functions as a kind of relaxed fraternity. They all have good jobs, go out every weekend, and are constantly meeting new people, etc.

  • Friend 4 is in a long term relationship. He’s on a more traditional path (climbing the corporate ladder and getting married soon). However, he dreams of having his own startup company some day and is really determined to make this happen.

  • Friend 5 moved back to his home town, and is working for his dad’s company. His life is pretty quiet, mostly alternating between work, seeing family, exercising, and hanging out with his girlfriend.

These lifestyles are all very different takes on what it means to be a “young guy.” They are different twists of the Rubik's Cube, so to speak.

Body

Your job is to discern which twist of the Rubic’s cube you prefer (there are infinite), and then bring this vision to reality. The strategies you employ to make your vision manifest are what we refer to as Game.

The problem with the beta male is he gets trapped in rigid, black-and-white thinking. Beta males have these “rules” they’ve downloaded from their parents or society or something, and can’t seem to see past them.

For instance, I’ve heard people make statements like: “Adults don’t go out and party.” This type of fear-based thinking is characteristic of the Beta Male. They think there’s a very strict line in life you have to follow, and if you deviate from it, your boss or the Cosmic Alpha Male or some one is going to be very disappointed.

Of course, there are rules in life. But, within these rules, there is much room for creativity.

So back to the partying example. Beta males are unable to discipline themselves, and thus assume that partying automatically leads to addiction, wasted time, massive hang overs, etc. In other words, their Game in this area is very poor.

The proper way to party is to do it once per week. I personally go to bars almost every Friday. I go with other successful guys and have a fucking incredible time. I recently found out my grandfather (ex-Marine, successful finance guy) maintained this same exact habit his whole life.

Conclusion

Friday drinking works because it’s balanced. You go out and get drunk, and then have all Saturday to recover (if necessary) and also Sunday to rest up for work, do errands, etc. This is the “middle path,” as far as partying goes, and can be sustained for your whole life.

Alpha Males tend to prefer the “middle path” because it represents the best of both worlds. I get to be a “serious career guy” during the week, but I also get to have a shit load of fun on the weekends. The trick is making all your decisions with that type of win-win mentality.
