I have seen other subs do this but with the atmosphere on this sub being more laid back to where it can allow some controversial views without mods deleting everything, a part of me thought it would be a good idea to post a thread like this here. Seems like so many blogs out there have generic things, some of which are written by feminists, that they try to pass off as "harsh truths" but I just thought this sub might have something else to offer. IMO, I just thought that members on this sub could offer some good advice about life that is straightforward and holds back no punches. Now I decided that I will start this entire thread off by offering some truths of my own that I have discovered over the years.

Looks matter matter, there is no point in denying this.

So many guys on here have stories about their 5'5 friend who is overweight yet still sleeps with models, save the fairy tales for someone else, looks matter a lot. Looks do not only matter for seduction, they matter for everything in life from how people treat you to whether or not you get hired for a job. Good looking people generally live better lives, are happier, healthier, and most of the times get favors that their ugly counterparts do not. The good news here is that in most cases, you can do quite a lot to better your appearance as a male. Lowering your body fat and gaining muscle are the first steps but style also matters. Advancements in surgery have also made it possible to fix genetic flaws on the face.

Your upbringing, circumstances growing up, where you were raised, and the kind of parents you had play a big role in your success and happiness in life.

What they don't tell you about the Bill Gates of the world is how they came from families that were doing better financially than most families out there. I feel like this is one of those truths where deep down we know it is true but we never really acknowledge it. The trust fund kid growing up that had it all will succeed in life and likely be happy as well while the kid who grew up in poverty has a lower chance of success and even happiness after that success, the trauma he experienced growing up will get to him. A lot of these successful people (on paper) that make a high salary had it pretty easy growing up and they always have throughout time: they had the best education as kids (private schools), the best parenting, and grew up in the nicest areas where life was amazing. Sometimes even the cities and regions of a place you're born and raised in play a big role.

Ever hear about the kid who had all the potential in the world but never really amounted to anything? Well chances are poverty, bad parenting, and an awful environment stopped him from reaching that potential. Meanwhile, the kid who might not have been born with the best genetics or decision making skills still got somewhere in life because he had rich parents and ideal circumstances growing up.

Yet, opportunities are out there and people prevail. Countless stories out there exist of men and women who grew up in less than ideal circumstances yet succeeded and kicked life's ass. You can be that story and your success will probably taste that much better as well. Just because life gave you misery and bad circumstances does not mean you can't do anything about them, this is no excuse to give up. You do need to recognize the situation and make the best of it and once you make it, see a shrink for the past trauma you might have been through, it might help you!

Society doesn't give a shit about it either so no need to go on complaining!

Tough life and you didn't get there? Oh stop complaining! You just didn't work hard enough! Easy life and you succeeded? Oh you are so amazing! Your genetics are the greatest! You are a hero!

Society does not want to hear about your sob story of how you grew up in poverty or how your parents didn't give two shits about you, it just wants to see whether or not the end result ended up being desirable. If you don't succeed and do well, it does not care about your sob story. All the more reason to stop complaining and start doing something about your situation!

Now I want to hear your truths, may the best be upvoted.
