I'm a 19 year old American vacationing at a canadian ski resort where the drinking age is 19.

Tonight while enjoying the alcoholic nectar of canadian beer, I came across some local women at a bar. Their short, manly haircuts should have tipped me off to their political affinity, but in my state of inebriation (I have never drank before today) I decided to interact with them over a game of pool. The first game went smoothly, but as I started the second game, my Trump hat came out. Immediately the iciness came out of them. For reference, these are HB5-6 English/Australian women. After I took the hat out and made one or two comments (not jokes) about Theresa May to the English woman and sheep jokes to the Australian, they called me a misogynist and left completely. I came up to ask for change to use the pool table again and was told it was better that I leave them alone.

I'm still intoxicated, so this will have to be a short FR, but the point is to avoid bringing politics or anything that could trigger a negative emotional reaction out of the women you're approaching.

Stay on topic and always pushing, but know your target and do not broach politics or emotionally reactive material
