This entire car wreck of a situation comes down to his misplaced assumption that all Japanese girls will invariably respond to his "awesome status" as a White guy. Why he would assume that being "White" is still anything special as if Japan is still living in the Meiji era is beyond me.

Result? He spends hours trying to seddit "hack" girls with complex routines that end up being a waste of time, whereas he could have been in the gym getting buff and increasing his passive SMV. Then, all it would've taken is a simple introduction, and his body + attitude would have done the rest.

Bottomline: increasing your passive SMV is key. When it comes to interracial game, I see way too many guys relying on their race/novelty as an "other" (which allows them to snag <HB5s) and then incorrectly extrapolating that the entirety of the HB spectrum in that country/culture.

When I'm done, I hand her the drawing and we continue talking. "Give me your number and email," I say.

I usually open by asking for directions in Japanese. The sad part is that Roosh actually writes at length about how you have to adjust your game to your locale. He talks a bit about it here, but I know he's written much more than this: http://www.rooshv.com/3-principal-types-of-game

...but even beyond what Roosh writes, it's just plain common sense that you're going to have to take local culture into consideration when trying to approach women.

I read a few pages and got the sense that he was immediately barging in head-first like a bull in a china shop, blind to the subtleties of the culture and unaware of his etiquette violations. I'm guessing his Japanese is probably at the poor-to-fair level so that is not helping him. It also doesn't help that the Japanese are not prone to telling people off or showing anger.

The strange part is that he seems to have a ton of international experience, having lived in the USA and Germany before going to Japan, and being able to speak all the corresponding local languages as well as Chinese.

Fortunately, being the only White-looking male in sight for miles, I'm also in a Japanese class full of almost nothing but Chinese and Korean girls.

This guy has an incredible number of opportunities. He's at a university for Chrissake.

Wait so you're saying Osaka has superficial, high maintenance women? In what sense?

They can care a lot about appearance and all but I found J-girls in Osaka to be rather on the sweet side than anything else. And although they like going out and places and stuff not once did I have to pay for them (night-pulls to love hotels are a different story). They get the "I'm a poor student", "Japan is so expensive" story quite early in our interaction.

This jives with my experience - Osaka (and Kansai region) girls are incredibly nice and friendly in my experience. Even girls in Tokyo seem very nice (especially compared to girls from a big city like New York) and Osaka girls are even nicer than Tokyo girls.

He'd definitely have been better off just soaking in the culture and language for a while before starting his approach blitz, passively observing and making male friends who could show him the ropes. They probably would have clued him into the fact that he should take his dress sense up a few levels.

Well, at least he's learning the language and making approaches, which is better than most. Even though I was cringing while reading his reports, a minuscule part of me was also rooting for him, and I was happy to see that he was eventually able to hook up with Fumi - she seemed like a sure thing, if there is such a thing in life.

Spot on, but I can't help thinking his whole approach was wrong. Why approach on the street when Osaka has a very popular drinking scene?

PUAs in London complain about approaching being hard because of all the touts handing out leaflets and gathering donations. But in Japan women are getting approached by men looking to get them into their host club. It's probably worst in Osaka! BTW, that's where The Great Happiness Space was filmed for a reason.

Maybe you can give us your perspective, how effective is cold-approaching in general in Japan compared to western world or other ways of meeting women? For me, social circle game is top notch in Japan. If you go drinking with a big group of people, locals will even approach you to start conversation and inhibitions are down.

Failure to adjust to the room will bring overall failure. Ask any good comedian. Being able to adjust on the fly is more important than a rigid doctrine of approach. And being able to examine flaws in your plan is more important than having a plan.

Honest question, is TRP about how having an alpha attitude and maintaining frame will help you get laid, or is it about telling men that if they aren't extremely handsome they have no hope? I thought that one of the fundamental axioms of this community was that women, unlike men, value social status above physical appearance.

plus his poor average looks won't do him any good either.
