This is an actual line from an actual email regarding "bias" I received from the corporate HR office at my F500 company. Incredibly disconcerting.

I've noticed an actual, strong, and forceful move in my current company's HR policies to "eliminate bias" and remove all forms of individuality (with the claimed motive of, of course, "individuality", inclusion, and acceptance) within any interaction within the company.

How long are we going to take this? The amount of things said that could be perceived as racist, sexist, borderline tasteless, or vulgar every day at my place of work is enough to put someone in jail, seemingly. And I wouldn't' have it any other way.

Wondering how many of you find yourselves in this position, and if so, if you see a trend of people pushing back against this type of corporate-approved "social programming" in the workplace. It's quite literally unsustainable.

We're well on our way to 1984 in 2015.

The reason I believe this is relevant here is that things such as "respecting women" and "respecting other's sexual orientations" are the vanguard of such policies, here being interpreted as "not speaking about any one person's individual characteristics in any way whatsoever in case someone somewhere overhears, is offended, and sues"...this isn't new, but I feel it's reaching critical mass. How much longer can this shit show ensue? Not long, I'd say.
