She added that normalizing the fact that sexual desire may decrease over time may help both sexes to understand that this decrease does not necessarily mean anything is intrinsically wrong with their relationship, and may help couples put more effort into their sexual relationship.

Thanks for hamstering the admitted fact that women have an inherent problem with this, to somehow become both sexes (i.e. men) need to understand there's nothing wrong.

The man is not getting sex (which is what attracted him to start this relationshit with a woman in the first place), and she's writing there's nothing intrinsically wrong. OK.

How about "men need to understand that they WILL get screwed by this if getting involved with a woman long term, no matter what they do"?

some of the benefits of longer-term relationships that may increase desire, such as going on romantic vacations, getting engaged, learning more about their sexual likes — and feeling comfortable sharing those likes with their partner.

Some of the benefits to a woman. Thinks a woman. Who is wrong.

I wouldn't advocate their suggestion, but it's worth keeping in mind that she's likely to become more challenging as the years progress.

So I think it's better to be aware of the challenges in an LTR.

relationshit

I hadn't heard that before, it really got me laughing!

really? the sex after a year with the same girl actually becomes noticeably less interesting for me. actually even after 2 weeks.

[–]FagCocoOil11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Depends on the people. If you are boring, sex will suck and will be rare.

I am currently in the 5th year of my LTR and we fuck like rabbits. There were periods when we didn't have much sex(once a week, sometimes less), but not surprisingly I was either getting too complacent or had a fuckton on my head.

If you dread and maintain yourself, sex never stops.

[–]fungussa[S] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I think it's typical that she'd gravitate towards one a week, then once a fortnight, then once a month. But it's not often that I'd say no.

I have to agree... usually my interest in sex declines much faster than the girl's. Of course, my sex drive is still so high that I'd almost always be down for sex but the decline in interest I personally experience is far more severe.

[–]ScottishIslander12 points13 points14 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I have found this to be true. Men's interest in sex certainly declines over time as well, but the difference is even if they're not as excited about it, they will still fuck.

Women on the other hand seem to start withdrawing the V over time. Even if you've had this talk with your woman early in the relationship, and she's said "oh absolutely, the longest I could go without sex is one week", a couple years in, you'll be fucking once a month.

You have to keep her interest by using competition anxiety. Talk to other women, harmlessly flirt with other women in front of her, hang out with other women from time to time etc.

[–]fungussa[S] 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fully, competition anxiety is key!

Women use sex as a currency to get a Beta's commitment in a LTR. Once they have their commitment (marriage), why should a woman continue having sex? This is why many women who marry Betas stop having sex when they get married.

Straight to the point. The best and shortest Description of the interplay of sex and commitment i've read so far - Thanks.

You're missing the biological point here. Sex is for reproduction. Sure, it's fun and all, but that's not really what it's for. We're meant to reproduce. Therefore, once a woman has reproduced, she's achieved her goals. And if she is having sex with the same guy and not reproducing, her body eventually tells her to find another guy who will give her babies.

[–]Glenbert1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well stated. You can't possibly be a red pill realist workout accepting this truth. Ultimately, our DNA doesn't care what we want. Our DNA doesn't care about fun, pleasure or happiness. They are only means to an end.

Knowing that many women's sexual desire diminishes over the course of a relationship could encourage both partners to be more realistic about their sex lives, and could help them weather the changes in desire as they occur.

Knowing does not mean "accepting."

The word for men is DREAD and a simple choice- "Fuck Me; or Fuck You."

Desire cannot be negotiated- but it CAN be COMMANDED. Sex dies back to 1-2 times a month PRECISELY because the man accepts that 'this is how it is supposed to be.'

No..it...is...not.

Regular sex. Enthusiastic sex. Few if any denials of your sexual advances should be EVERY MAN'S precondition for staying committed to the relationship. If she cuts back the sex, time for the Dread- and if that doesn't work it is time for a new relationship.

I seriously wonder how much of this has to do with contraceptives.

Think about it--the entire purpose of sex is procreation, the pleasure is just an animalistic motivator. But if no pregnancy occurs, maybe biology communicates to each of the individuals that there is a problem (impotency). Therefore it might lead to seeking other mates who can (to the best of biology's knowledge) procreate effectively.

That's so weird. With my last girlfriend she became more interested over time. Maybe I got better, I don't know.
