We hate on marriage because it's become a no-win proposition for men. You're committing your time, efforts, and resources to a woman who's been given the right to end it any time she feels like and take you for all you have for her troubles. And men are supposed to ignore the very obvious risks because of the notion of "love".

Somebody on here had a great analogy. Marriage for a man is like betting half your life savings on black at the roulette table, and at best all you can do is break even. Is that risk worth taking?

Actually, that question implies some faulty logic. Whether or not you get married has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not your relationships are open or closed.
