You must not remember the original TRP subreddit. A good 10% of posters were deep in the anger phase and had some pretty extreme views / advice. It was a big turnoff to any casuals popping in from elsewhere.

Okay, I'm not single. However, I'm 35 and I've been non-monogamous for the last 8 years (married for the last 3.5 years). It's basically the best of both worlds. I have a loving, awesome wife and 1 or 2 girlfriends at any given time.

The Game taught me that there were ways to improve myself that I didnt know existed at the time. It also basically teaches Mystery Method-style pick-up, which has limited practical use but works well for some guys.

The concept of inner game was something that started in the pick-up community long before TRP was a thing. Just say'n.

Im 35... Join a social dance scene with weekly dances. I like swing and blues dancing, personally. Salsa can be a good scene too. However, id avoid any kind of ballroom dance, except maybe tango.

Protip, go super slow (micro-thrusts) and come quickly the first time. You need to get them to relax.. ease them into it. Follow up with lots of after-care. If they are anticipating a really painful experience, then her muscles will clench and shes going to have a bad time. She tried it twice with you and wasnt into it.. just let it go. If you want a real education on how slow you should go in the future, then buy a normal sized dildo and stick it in your ass. It'll give you a a whole new perspe…

I just want to take a second and say that RP sucks at everything poly (with the exception of a few quality posters). Furthermore, the advice on this thread isnt helpful. Nobody breaks down how you mishandled the situation, so that you can learn from it. Is she a plate or not? Are you in a poly relationship or not? To me, it sounds like you are sending mixed messages.. that calls into question your communication skills and your ability to be the leader in the relationship. You'll kill a relations…

Probably.. depends on the city and depends on the dance style. However, most decent sized cities have at least one weekly event that draws in younger people. As a general rule, Ballroom dances tend to draw in older crowds while swing (especially lindy-hop) and Blues tend to be mostly younger people.

I'm 35.. I learned to social dance: swing, blues, salsa, etc. It's a great scene full of fit, attractive women. Also, social dancing is kind of like speed dating. You'll typically get at least one dance with every girl in the room on a good night. If you start going regularly to a weekly dance event, then a social group forms pretty naturally. Dancers love other dancers.

Abundance mentality comes with success. Also, truely wide open relationships can be quite fun with the right people involved. Its hard to wrap your mind around it until you're actually in a good one. When i met my wife, we were both dating several people. This was way back around the time I was into the pick-up artist thing. We worked well together and never stopped dating other people even when we got more serious. We both just really liked the dynamic and we ended up trying out swinging and po…

I tell stories of other dates I've been on. Dating tends to be funny and terrible dates make for great stories. My favorites include "worst date #1 - red flags everywhere", "worst date #2 - hysterical crazy girl" and "how I went in for a haircut and ended up at a swingers party".

TRP was never been about kink-shaming. People who use the word "cuck" in a derogative fashion are kind of... I don't know.. immature-sounding? It absolutely drives people away from this sub. Just say'n.

Meh, I have always sucked at picking up randoms in clubs. My n-count is in the 60's so I've done pretty well for myself without clubs / bars. There are other ways to meet women. You just have to figure out what works for you.

Look, mate. 90% of everything is crap.. it's true. However, RP has some truth to it buried underneath the crap. Some guys are legitimately attempting to help others and offer constructive advice. Figuring out girls, relationships and social dynamics can be learned. There's a lot more to it than just "be confident". Unfortunately, there arent very many good sources to learn this stuff from. The RP sub is one of those sources, even if there's (very) poor signal-to-noise ratio. At least its putting…

Not all of us value monogamy or "innocence" the same way you do. I'm very sexually experienced and I prefer the girls I date to be experienced as well. I want a girl who's got kinks and loves sex. I'm not even remotely interested in monogamy. I want threesomes, swinger parties and BDSM events. I'm aware that I'm not the typical alpha, but I just wanted to share my perspective.

There is nothing you can't learn from Youtube. I say this as somebody who dances Blues, Lindy-Hop, and Argentine Tango. All you need is a follow to practice with. And by "practice with" i mean stand there while you figure out the leads to new moves. That said, almost all dance scenes provide some kind of lesson before each dance. Go to the lessons, meet the other newbies and dance with them after the lessons are over. Being bad at something is the first step to being good. Lastly, if you are a b…

No, not really. I typically have more partners than my wife. Women don't particularly go for quantity, in general. Women are more concerned about quality. My wife is very picky and tends to like having only one other partner at a time. She also tends to keep them around for a year or two at a time.. so her numbers aren't actually that high.

Social dancing.. swing, blues, salsa, etc. A social dancing event is basically speed dating. You get a 4 minute song with every girl in the room.

Actually, I agree 100%. There's a lot of keyboard jockeying going on in this sub lately. It's guys who are in the "fake it until you make it" process attempting to be helpful based on the limited amount of stuff that they've figured out. However, they aren't quite there yet. As a general rule, 90% of everything is crap. You just have to sift through the crap on this sub in order to find the good stuff.

See if your city has a social dance scene (swing, blues, salsa, etc.). If so, there's no better way to make friends quickly. Just start going to lessons and introduce yourself to the other dance newbies. Dancers love other dancers and social dancing is basically speed-dating. You'll get 4 minutes with every girl in the room if your ballsy enough to ask them to dance.

Actually, that book was my gateway drug about a decade ago. Indirect game taught me that it's okay to be social and to approach new people in a social environment. The book also let me know what was possible if I was willing to put in the effort. Most of the stuff they mention in the book works as training wheels for guys who don't know how to flirt or handle themselves on a date. It's also a decent intro to / history of the pick-up community. If you are looking for the basics and nothing else, …

A lot of the responses in this thread are keyboard-jockey bullshit. Hit up the swingers sub for better responses. That said, I've been in a ton of threesomes (both with my wife and as the "other guy"). Sex is fun. Group sex is even more fun. It's not a big deal. Just be flirty with the girl, friendly to the guy, and follow their lead. These things are usually all about fulfilling the girls' fantasies. I would go and meet them both for drinks and take it from there.

As a guy, I actually disagree. Most guys are bad at dating/relationships: they are clingy, insecure, jealous, etc. They also don't know how to set appropriate boundaries or they lack the confidence to effectively communicate their intentions. They also tend to have unrealistic expectations (too many Disney movies as a kid). This is one of the reason TRP exists.. it's a resource for guy to better themselves and to become more attractive to women (by not making typical "dumb guy" mistakes). We are…

I'd probably roll with it unless I already had somebody else in mind. It's just a highschool dance. It's one of those things nobody gives a shit about once you're out of highschool. Besides, it's a dance. It doesn't matter who you show up with. Once you're there, you can dance / flirt with whoever you like. Just my 2 cents.

Multiple long-term relationships (i.e. spinning plates after you've gotten really good at handling women). Being "single" isn't the same thing as being alone. I have plates that have stuck around longer than some of my friends' marriages have lasted.

I'm basically red pill, but I'm staunchly non-monogamous and am in an openly polyamorous marriage. However, I get downvoted more often than not if I mention it. Also, I think the over-emphasis on N-count amounts to poor screening. It's just bad advice. There are much more useful and accurate methods to screen for a good significant other. As a result, I don't really post in TRP's main sub anymore.. I just offer advice in r/askTRP.

No kids. My wife is 6 years younger than me and not in any rush. Very basic rules about banging: 1) play safe and 2) don't be an asshole. There's a solid foundation of trust and good communication, so more rules aren't really necessary.

Managing multiple relationships (i.e. spinning plates) killed my jealousy long before I ever met my wife. I started learning pickup in 2006. By 2008, I had a rotation of 2-3 girls at any given time. It forced me to get better at the fundamentals of relationship management. I learned how to lead and how to avoid all the common guy screw-ups. After awhile, I realized that this lifestyle made me really happy. I eventually found a girl who had similar views (and life goals).. and that's how I ended …

I'm in a fully open marriage. I like it that way. I feel shitty when I'm out on dates and my wife is at home by herself. She hates being alone. It's much better for everyone when she has somebody else to spend time with while I'm out. There are other benefits. If my wife wants to do something that I don't want to do (i.e. craft fairs, etc), then she takes a boyfriend. Everybody wins. Anyway, I just wanted to add a different perspective.

Just assume it's "plausible denyability". Don't make a big deal about it. Assume it was a one night kinda thing.. until the next time it happens. Don't tell people about it or bring it up again. Be discreet. Enjoy it for what it was.

Tax benefits, shared medical insurance, professional image / networking.. just to name a few benefits. To me, marriage is about teaming up with a person who has similar life goals. Fortunately for me, those goals include life-long non-monogamy. My wife also has a wealthy family and her own career. By marrying her, I took on very little risk and receive quite a lot of benefit. We've been together nearly 6 years now and everything is still awesome. America has women from all over the world. There …

So you have a sample size of 1? That's hardly enough info. Go out on a few more dates with young women and get back to us. Also, explain more about the dates. It's possibly that it's just your dating game that needs to be tweeked. I'm 34 and I don't have any problems dating (much) younger.

Good game (inner game) trumps everything. I know this because shortly after I met my wife, she started dating a hedge fund manager. The guy was beyond wealthy, good looking, younger than me, and completely in love with her. She still dumped him for me. I felt a little bad for the guy afterwards. He did not take it well. He was very smart, but he just had no practical experience with dating / relatonships. He also had some very unrealistic expectations when it came to women.

My wife knows my reddit name. She also knows that, previously, I was very active on pick-up forums. I just own this aspect of my life and freely talk about it. It's part of who I am. Also, my wife is awesome. Her understanding of RP concepts is better than that of half the guys who post on the RP subreddits. She also appreciates the fact that I'm not "relationship-impaired" like most guys she's dated / most of her friends SO's.

The only thing I take issue with is the very first item. Nobody should ever be required to respond to texts. That said, it's good advice for dealing with people who have severe anxiety. Don't do anything to attempt to solve her problems. The best thing you can do is to shut up and play with her hair.

R/humblebrag Lol, okay.. how many of those say we're already plates? Can you go into your method for lining up all seven? Also, why would you want to have sex with 30 different women in 30 days? Don't you keep the good ones? IMO great sex trumps new sex. The answer to making this easy is to attain some kind of fame. Or, as I call it, "Tucker Max" game. I hit my peak around age 28. That's the year I met my wife and my #1 plate/girlfriend (for lack of a better term). My wife and I have always had a completely open relationship. It's not for everyone, but it works for us. The relationship with my wife lead to swinging, threesomes, dating girls as a couple, and all sorts of other fun perks. Are you screening properly? Are you familiar with "Freaks, Hoes, and Good Girls" theory? I'd you could give us more details about the girl (s), then we could give you better advice. Could be a shit test, could be a fishing for more valiation, could be a ploy to rope you into a more exclusive relationship, or it could be that she just wants reassurance that she isn't just a booty call.

I lost my V-card at the age of 20. I started learning pick-up when i was 24. I'm 33 now, with a partner count of 60ish. A surprisingly few of those were 1-night stands. I was just never a fan of monogamy. I love the poly/open/plate-spinning lifestyle. If you sleep with 5-10 new girls a year, then it starts to add up over time.

At 18, I was terrified of getting a girl pregnant. I turned down my very hot 17 year old girlfriend's offer to lose our virginity together. No big deal. You get some antibiotics and it's gone. It's either a week treatment or a one time treatment, depending on what the doc prescribes. The worst part about it is no sex for a week. And for all you saying wrap it up, condoms are only 60% effective against chlamydia, with perfect condom use. Read up about it on the CDC website.

Lifestyle events in big cities are the way to go. There are always several good looking younger couples, especially if you go to a holiday party or hotel takeover weekend. The bigger the party, the better the selection. Most of my swinging experiences have been in Milwaukee, Chicago and, more recently, in Florida. That being said, you won't even get in the door at the best parties without a date.

Learn to social dance: swing, blues, salsa, whatever. Dancers love dancers and there is no quicker way to develop a large social circle and busy social calender. You will also meet a lot of physically fit women along the way.

I'm gonna go against the grain and offer an alternative theory. Maybe she's testing the waters of having more "open and honest" communication. It'a a shit test either way, as she will judge you on how you respond. However, it may not have anything to do with jealousy. Consider it an invitation to talk about the other women you are seeing. It's that kind of open communication that leads to threesomes, swinging, etc.

Well, you are 20. Your parents probably know or suspect that you are sexually active. Why not just have an honest, adult conversation with them about it. If they are reasonable people, they will respect you for being upfront about it. The worst case scenario is that they refuse to let you have female guests. In which case, you are back to where you started and haven't lost anything. Edit: A word

I have never found this to be a good idea. I mean, what's the point? If you are good at sex / foreplay (and not a dumbass in other areas), then a girl will fall hard for you. Withholding sex only means less sex for you. In short, there are better ways to get the same results.

A repost of mine, explaining a screening method called "Freaks, Hoes, and Good Girls" developed by the pick-up community nearly a decade ago. Field tested, repeatedly. How to screen women: Good Girls - Girls who are happy in relationships when their significant other is happy. These girls will tend to go out of their way to do nice things for their guys: cook, clean, give them gifts, play out their sexual fantasies, etc. They are the easiest type to maintain a long term relationship with because…

Accountant here.. if you can be civil with each other and avoid lawyering up, then you should. If you both lawyer up and go to court, then you both lose. It's the prisoners dilemna. It is in your best interest to work with your soon-to-be ex-wife. Even if you split it all and you get 40% while she gets 60%..you'll still come out further ahead than if you lawyer up and go to court. Just my 2 cents.

My choice: Plate --> GF It's a vetting process. It's all casual until you decide you really match well with a person. I upgrade girls for treating me well and being generally awesome. They prove themselves worthy and I reward them with more of my time and attention. It just seems like a more natural process to me. That said, there is no wrong answer. Some bosses pick managers by promoting existing employees, while some hire from outside the company.

Online dating, mostly, with PoF netting me the best results. I've also dated very hot girls I met while swing/blues dancing (a hobby of mine), at bars, and through social circles. I even once dated a cute girl who cut my hair.. just a right place, right time kind of thing.

Just keep in mind that there is no easy path. Shit won't change over night. Change takes work: lift, read the forums, learn some pick-up, update your online profiles, etc. Don't get complacent with the first girl that sleeps with you. Go non-monogamous for awhile and spin plates. It will improve your skills in a lot of different ways.

Well, I can't speak for all guys, but I was clueless about meeting girls in college. I was also a bleeding heart romantic who was obsessed with my highschool ex-girlfriend. I love pickup and women, and this post still irritated me. This is just a bad argument with inaccurate information. Pickup is just a tool set. It's a buffet where guys can try things and figure out what works for them. Individuals can be misogynistic, but pick-up cannot. It is just a collection of knowledge and, for some guys, an activity. Either way, it cannot be innately misogynistic. That is not a thing. People who make arguments like "pick-up is misogynistic" like to ignore female participat…

I discovered pick-up when I was your age. I'm 33 and the good times are still going. Unfortunately, there's a rather large learning curve. I was 27 or 28 before I really felt like I had mastered inner game, dating and relationships (i.e. what TRP refers to as frame, spinning plates, etc.).

That comic is so lame. Pick-up communities abandoned negging years ago. Too many newbies missed the point completely. Mystery developed it to hit on super high-status women who are surrounded by male attention/orbitors (i.e. models in a club environment). New guys just think that it's a license to be an asshole to every girl they meet or they confuse it with "cocky funny" banter. Nobody talks about negging on the pick-up forums anymore. Ugh.

I think it's more about learning how to always think in the present tense, without dwelling on the past or getting too wrapped up in the future. Stop thinking about your life as a story, where past actions dictate future actions. Everyday you are reborn, a completely new person. I used mental exercises, similar to meditation, to get to that point.

Actually, starring in porn is just a red flag. It's an indicator of validation seeking behavior. Validation seekers tend to be more dramatic, they tend to act out for attention, and they tend to cheat (because sex is a form of validation). It could also be an indication of money/status-seeking behavior. Anyway, it's not the porn.. it's about proper screening for LTR. I think it's a bit more then that. It's about not staying with the girl who doesn't fit quite right into your life, because your afraid to be alone or afraid of not finding somebody better. Half the shit they that pick-up teaches is just to display value and sub-communicates that you have sexual options (i.e. other women value us). By being honest, you are just being a little more direct. It's an early frame announcement (EFA); you are just letting her know that you intend to keep sleeping with other women. No, that's not quite right. "Abundance mentality" is a concept TRP stole from the world of pick-up. It's the knowledge that you have the ability to find other women if the current one doesn't work out. It's an important concept. It means you have the ability to walk away. TRP is weird about the whole "Chad" thing. They've made him into the boogeyman who will come and steal your girlfriend. This is just another example of TRP marketing towards beta males. Chad is just any non-monogamous or single alpha male. He's basically the archetype that most younger TRP guys are aspiring to become, but you wouldn't know that by reading TRP rhetoric.

To answer OP'S question: I'm redpill... I don't hate anybody. If anything, I'm usually harder on men than I am on women. Most guys get themselves into trouble with women because they are naive. Seriously, though, the authors of The Ethical Slut wrote a very large chapter on jealousy, and they say it never goes away, and they've been polyamorous for decades. Flirt with a girl BEFORE you ask her out. Learn how to tell when she is flirting back (body language, eye contact, etc). If she's flirting back, then ask for her number / set up a date, etc. There's really no point where she will outright reject you. The worst thing that can happen is that she won't flirt back or she just wont engage you in conversation at all. Let her bring up the conversation. All of your actions should be congruent with a FWB'S frame (i.e. don't introduce her to friends / family, don't see her more than 1-2 times a week, no sleep overs, don't text to much, etc.). If you follow the rules, she probably won't even bring it up.

I disagree. Girls are very socially aware (much more so than guys) and will typically avoid any situation that might open them up to criticism by their peers. It's perfectly reasonable for a FWB to get upset over something like this. Why not just try for a threesome?

Close enough, I suppose. The way I've also done a soft next is to freeze them out for 3-4 days, then invite them over as if nothing happened. Then repeat, if necessary. This sub-communicates that, "If you behave badly, then you lose my attention / validation". Girls are shockingly good at picking up on how this works without it being explained. It has always worked really well for me. I rarely have had to do it more than once.

It IS possible to correct bad behavior using a soft next. It doesn't have to be a slippery slope.

To be perfectly honest, some guys can be a little insecure about their level of education.. and it makes them project their feelings onto others. Furthermore, there are a lot of guys on the main sub who are still in the "bitter phase" (and that doesn't help). The combination of insecurities and bitterness can make guys say some pretty stupid things.

Herpes is not a default in the US. It's not life-threatening, just annoying, so they don't test for it. You have to ask for it and pay extra for the test.

HSV-1 is oral herpes.. it only rarely does well in the private areas. That's actually lucky for her. If you've never been tested for it (blood test), then there's a good chance you already have it. Most people who get it are asymptomatic (i.e. never have outbreaks). Contracting herpes is always risk you take when you sleep with somebody, or even kiss somebody. Many people get HSV-1 before they are even sexually active.. by kissing parents / relatives, etc. IMO, not that big of a deal. If she tak…

There are a couple "best of" posts that answer this question. Also, you might want to start a post in personal finance. Generally, don't tell anyone yet. I'm just going to address the part about women (the other questions are just silly): Yes, love women for who and what they are. Most guys just love the idealized concept of what they think women are supposed to be. You can still love somebody even if you suspect that they won't be in your life forever. Furthermore, love and self-interest aren't mutually exclusive. Self-sacrifice and love aren't the same thing. You can still love somebody without them being a detriment to your own happiness. I ex…

Happily married, unconventional red pill guy here (i.e. strictly non-monogamous). Dating virgins is fun, but can also be kind of a hassle. I prefer kinky and confident to innocent and inexperienced. Furthermore, I don't think sex is necessary in the first few dates, but some kind of sexual activity is. If it's obvious a girl is really attracted to me, but she is inexperienced and wants to proceed at a slower pace, then that's fine. In fact, it can be really fun to be somebodies series of firsts.…

Get comfotable flirting with attractive women. Third step: "spin plates". Go on a lot of dates. Stay out of monogamous relationships for awhile. Date several women casually (builds abundance mentality and confidence dealing with women/drama). That should keep you busy for awhile.

React positively when a girl tells you controversial things about herself. Encourage her to share her scandalous thoughts and stories. Praise her for opening up and being honest. Share private details of your own life without making a big deal about it (i.e. Lead by example). Be discreet about the things she tells you. This is the best way to ensure honesty in a relationship. And my response was meant to point out that the pick up community's discussions are not limited to pick-up. Dread game is not a new concept. It's just an old pick up community idea that's been rebranded. TRP really hasn't added anything or put it in a new context. They just renamed it. As for the rest, I think we are in full agreement. =)

No need to be adversarial. I completely agree with you. However, some guys end up with somebody they love in a relationship they hate. They need to leave, try and fix it, or be miserable and stick with it out of a sense of duty or obligation. "Dread game" is one of things they can do to help fix the relationship (and it's potentially better than the alternatives).

If you think the pick-up community isn't concerned with long-term relationships, then you'd be wrong. All the main pick-up forums have sections for discussions about relationships. That being said, you are generally correct. If you change your frame and actions mid-relationship, then you are asking for drama. Women generally dislike when their predictable, safe beta guy starts to exhibit alpha characteristics. It's scary for them and can provoke extreme responses. Thus, the the pick-up community…

Dread is a stupid name for a simple and harmless concept. A bunch of guys in the pick-up community compared notes and realized that guys who have busy social lives tend to do better with women. They hypothesized that this was because it 1) displayed high value, 2) subcommuniated that the guys had a lot of romantic options and 3) made them necessarily less available, more aloof, to any one girl. The pick-up community then took a "fake it until you make it" approach and told guys to mimic the beha…

You don't HAVE to agree and amplify. It's just one form of playful banter that works for most guys in most situations. You can straight up ignore the comment (not worthy of a response) and continue the conversation without giving the comment any validation. Another thing to try out is just to start talking to them as if the were a 5 year old. Note: It's very hard to be/feel offended when you are insulted by a 5-yr old. Benevolent alpha: good leader, doesn't feel the need to brag, knows his value and the value of his work (arrogance, i suppose, is over-valuing yourself and your work). His value is displayed subtly. He has a large social circle because people like being around him. He knows how to playfully flirt without being pushy or crude. Does that kind of give you an idea of what you are going for? I agree that it's better to error on the side of arrogance. It's far better than under-valuing yourself.

1) Screening - They get way too hung up on number of previous partners. There are better indicators of relationship success (and bigger red flags). 2) I don't think the founders of TRP had any experience with serious, long-term non-monogamy and, thus, it is all viewed as "bad". The only problem is that "monogamous" marriage doesn't ensure sexual fidelity. It just ensures that the married couples will lie to each other about it. In my relationship, we don't have to lie to each other. I would argue that it makes my relationship more stable, not less. Furthermore, my relationship is sexually satisfying even after 5 years together, which also adds to our long-term stability. Second, for me, monogamy is inherently unstable. Are you claiming that sexual fidelity is the only benefit to marriage? Because sexual fidelity kind of sucks. Only one sexual partner for the rest of my life? No, thank you. I never said I went alone, a few times me and an acquaintance would go, split up and meet at the end. Dude. That is NOT cool. <--- open marriage. Tl;dr - it's pretty sweet. Feel free to AMA. My wife and I have always been open (I insisted). We dated for 4 years before getting married. We were also active swingers for quite some time. I met many other married alpha guys while socializing at lifestyle events. Heh, my wife and I got married (after dating happily for 4 years, living together for 1) for the joint insurance and the substantial tax refund (I'm an accountant). As an added bonus, it made certain parents happy. Incidently, it's an open marriage and we both like it that way. Tl; dr - I get all the benefits and none of the drawbacks.

I swing / blues / salsa dance. There's a lot fit, cute college girls in that crowd. I also meet them via online dating (I'm 33).

Yes. My partner count is close to 60ish. I don't care at all about a girl's partner count. There are more nuanced methods to screen potential relationships. Also, I want girls who 1) don't have issues with me being non-monogamous and 2) love sex / are kinky.
/r/askTRP26/05/15 09:58 PM

This! This guy gets it. So many single guys don't understand this concept. When my GF and I did the swinging thing, we avoided any events that allowed more than a small handful of single guys.

I couldn't help but notice that the study only targeted monogamous couples. That seems a bit flawed. Also, you can't just tell two people to have more sex and think that's going to work / fix their issues / make them happier.

I actively encourage her to have plates, but she's a bit more monogamously minded than I am. Either that, or she's just gotten exceptionally picky over the years. When we first started dating she had several. Now, she doesn't find them very often and she tends to get bored of them quickly.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/15 04:38 AM

I'm happily married and I still enjoy spinning plates. My wife is my life partner, but she has always understood that I could never do long-term monogamy. It's just not in my nature. Therefore, I get the best of both worlds: a wife who adores me and several friends with benefits.

Beta's mate guard, Alpha's disregard. You don't really gain anything by policing who your GF talks to. Girls like validation.. it's why they keep beta their orbiters around. Don't sweat the small stuff. Just my 2 cents.

It's an appropriate metaphor because successful open relationships require guys to balance our time and attention between multiple people... much like balancing spinning plates. If we let things get unbalanced, then it all comes crashing down around us. To take the metaphor deeper: many guys need to learn to make open relationships work. It does not come intuitively to most us (side note: women tend to be much more intuitive about relationship stuff, in general). For us guys, making multiple rel…

Your friends' story is my story. I was a very frustrated, clueless, unhappy student in new city full of hot young women (I.e. Chicago). IMO, the wingman is there to distract the girl's friend(s). If a girl's female friends aren't having a good time, then they tend to turn into cock-blocks. A wing also there to give you extra social proof. Just my 2 cents.

I think you are handling things pretty well. I don't have any rules I hold myself to. I just trust my instincts as to when to bring up the poly marriage thing. Just don't wait too long (maybe try bringing it up right after sex). That being said, poly dating is all about screening for the right types of girls. Some girls will be very happy with the situation.. and some girls will flake out after a month because they can't handle it. Be patient. Eventually you'll meet a girl who gets along with yo…

I'm married (poly relationship) and I spin plates. It's a case by case basis. I'm usually pretty upfront about it, but I also try not to make a big deal about my poly status. I don't lie, but I don't always feel the need to tell a new girl all the details of my life until I think there's s chance she's going to stick around for awhile. Yes.. 4.5+ years and going strong. We got married last July. It's been open the entire time. It's not for everyone, but it works for me. It helped that I was very into pick-up before meeting my wife. I do just fine finding my own plates / secondary relationships. In all other respects, it's very red pill. My wife is submissive to me and treats me like a king (or we never would have gotten married).
/r/askTRP13/12/14 01:38 PM

There's nothing wrong with dating "sluts". Just don't expect them to be something that they are not (I.e. don't expect long-term monogamy). I'm just like you.. I like girls with kinks and experience and an above-average sex drive. I've been dating a girl who's perfect for me, going on 4.5+ years. We've had an open relationship the entire time. Our relationship is Red Pill in every other respect (i.e. she is submissive to me and treats me like a king). I've never been happier.

Not in my experience. I've been shopping this way for years. It has worked really well for me. I'm terrible at shopping on my own, yet I dress better than most of my peers. I tell girls to pick things out for me to try on, then give me a thumbs up or thumbs down after i've tried them on.

Cuckolding typically involves a sexually dominant woman and a submissive man. That's clearly not the case. Get your kinks straight. We have a lot of kinks, but that isn't one of them. The crazy endorphin rush of a new relationship stops after the first 1-2 years of a typical relationship. After 4.5+ years, we still get that rush, just from outside sources. Then we bring that energy back to our primary relationship. Monogamous couples don't get that luxury. I could never be happy with that. This …

You guys are already in an exclusive relationship.. you just haven't verbalize it yet. She's monopolizing all of your time (and sleeping in your bed every night), so you can't possible sleep with other women. This girl clearly has no interest in sleeping with other guys. What are you worried about?
/r/askTRP18/11/14 06:01 PM

I could write a book on this subject. However, it boils down to having solid game and a partner who's willing to initiate the flirting. It's WAY easier if the girl suggests the threesome. Girls trust other girls, they don't trust guys. Your job is to be charming, create a situation where everybody is having a good time, and handle logistics. Once everything is game on, then you take the lead. Further reading (everything you could ever want to know about having threesomes): Part 1: http://www.pua…

Yes, really. Hit the gym, keep going on dates with new women, and fill up your social calender with cool things. This all subcommunicates value (I.e. focus on being awesome). The more value you convey, the more women will push for an exclusive relationship. Some better advice, if you are already a high value guy: if you start to treat her like a girlfriend, then she'll want to be your girlfriend. See her often, make future plans together, let her sleep over, introduce her to family, etc.

Yeah, I think I covered that part. "Fake it till you make it" is controversial advice. It's clearly better for guys to just work on their social life (and not compromise their social life away because their SO is insecure or needy). However, the end result is the same whether a guy is faking it or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/14 05:06 PM

Dread game is just a way to teach guys to mimic natural alpha behavior. It's having a healthy social life full of high value people. The end result is that you very obviously have options outside of your SO. "Dread game" is a stupid name for a simple concept. TRP also tells beta guys to "fake it till they make it", which some people perceive as manipulative behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/14 04:09 PM

That's advice for repairing heavily damaged relationships. Anyway, dread game is no different than having a healthy social life outside of your SO. There's nothing you posted that's inconsistent with being a benevolent alpha / leader. It's like being the boss who really appreciates his employees, because they do good work. Everybody wins.

I've dated several girls who like to be treated like this. It's not that uncommon. However, most women who like this stuff are too insecure to ask to be treated this way. She's being honest with you about how she wants to be treated in the bedroom. Honesty is good and should be rewarded. Pick a decent safe word and have fun. Just my 2 cents.

Good "game" is whatever works for you. So, no to both questions. You may have to adjust your tactics to fit your situation, but it's all good as long as it's congruent with who you are. Just my 2 cents.

Dread game is just mimicking the healthy social life of a natural alpha male. Do yourself a favor and work on your social circle (befriend high value people) and filling up your calender with fun events. Don't compromise away your social life. The dread will happen naturally.

I understand. However, kids are smart. Just because you spend less time with your son doesn't necessarily mean you'll have less of an impact on his upbringing. Unfortunately, there's no way you'll change your wife's actions. The best you can do is offer an alternative view point to your son.

You're relationship with your son, is entirely up to you. Don't compromise on this.. a son has a right to know his father. I'm a bit of a Nietzschian scholar. He's a great thinker. He adored artists and actors. He thought our greatest aspiration should be to treat our lives like a canvas, and that we should use it to create something unique and wonderful. I think that's awesome. If he expressed negative views about women, it was typically to point out that our attitudes about the opposite sex are thoroughly cultural, and often destructive of our own potential. I call it "learning to incorporate new traits into your pre-existing personality until the expression of those traits become natural." In the context of TRP, it's attempting to be your best self until you can do it all the time, flawlessly. Apples and oranges.

Huh. I got married 2.5 months ago. My spouse has a similar partner count (a few less than me, but still fairly high). We also have an open/poly marriage. Our relationship dynamic is still very red pill. Red pillars come in all types.. we are not all part of the angsty, vocal faction.

Poll taker here. To be fair.. its not so much that I WANT 50 partners.. its that I've already had 50 partners (just to clarify). You're making incorrect assumptions.

What do you mean by "old school gentleman"? My thought is that it would probably be counterproductive to dating efficiently / effectively (in regard to how they treated high class women). On the otherhand, if you want to adopt the fashion/clothing of an old school gentlemen, then that could be pretty badass. Also, there's nothing wrong with composing yourself as if you were a member of the elite. Just my 2 cents.

"Dread game" is a dumb term for emulating the active social life of a natural alpha male. It's being too busy to cater to your SO's every whim. It's being too awesome to make time for an SO that doesn't add value to your life. Your a man and you have things to do and people to see. You have options and it's obvious to everybody who knows you. "Dread game" is just training wheels. It's the "fake it until you make it" path to becoming alpha. Just my 2 cents.

You discount the entire swinging community? It's a pretty large community and it's almost all married couples. It also rules out a big chunk of the kink/BDSM community as well as the poly commmunity. A LOT of married people are into some form of consensual non-monogamy. Last I heard, TRP was okay with guys indulging their sexual kinks. Figuring out what you want in your sex life and going for it is part of being a happy Alpha male. 25% of all monogamous marriages suffer from marital infidelity. …

All things you listed can be done outside of marriage. By your logic, nobody should ever get married. Is that the point you are trying to make? I would think that's obvious. Is it not obvious? We have similar life goals and mutually beneficial/compatible sexual kinks. Plus, our relationship is suprisingly red pill. She treats me like a king.

FWB = plate. And it's fine to buy drinks / dinner for women you're already sleeping with (it's just not that big of a deal, just don't go overboard). If you routinely treat friends to stuff, then don't stop just because one of your friends is a girl. However, be mindful of the last time your (female) friends treated you. Friendship should run both ways. Oh, and its a little different if you make substantially more money than your friends. If that is the case, then feel free to share the wealth. …

I'm almost positive I was 28 when this happened. I lost my V-card at the age of 20 and discovered pick-up at the age of 24. Unfortunately, I know of no studies or research on the subject. Focus on just finding plates to spin. Good plates upgrade themselves to LTR status by being consistently awesome. Spin plates until a girl earns the right to be in a LTR with you. There are always more potential LTR's (I.e. plates). Just keep spinning them until the good ones rise to the top. Focus on the journey, not the destination. Enjoy the ride. Just my 2 cents.

Actually, hanging with other Alpha guys tends to get me laid. It's better social proof and Alpha guys introduce me to more woman (and make better wings). I think we should just agree to disagree.

Plates are not whores. What's with all this negativity? All girls are plates until you have the monogamy talk. Do you just assume monogamy on a first date? Negging is misused and misunderstood. Mystery developed negging to hit on extremely high status women in bars and clubs. It's high level game and not something you use with every girl you meet. The pick-up community has largely abandoned negging (and indirect game, in general). Newbies inevitably think it's a license to be an asshole and it tends to fuck-up their game. In short, just avoid negging altogether.

First, I used to watch that movie every weekend with my friends back in high school. I love that movie. That being said, Ben Affleck's character made a whole lot of mistakes. First, poor screening. He didn't even ask about the girl's sexual history.. he just made faulty assumptions because she dates girls. Second, displays of insecurity. Girls are okay, but guys aren't? Guy here. When I was in college (i.e. young and inexperienced), there was one particular girl that nearly gave me a panic attack every time she was in my general vicinity. My heart rate would rise and I'd start to stutter. Does that count as intimidated? Now I'm older and much more experienced and this kind of stuff doesn't happen anymore. The 1-10 number system is the probably most common, but people use all sorts of things. EX: "I went out yesterday with HBsexypants and HBredhead" or "I went out yesterday with an HB7 and an HB10"

HB = Hot Babe It's a term stolen from the pick-up community. It's commonly used in field reports instead of real names (e.g. "Me and HB18 went out last night.")

Return of Kings is click-bait for angry men. They mostly cater to the newer guys who are still going through their "bitter phase" and using TRP as a support group / place to vent. I find a lot of their stuff counter-productive to the underlying goals of TRP. In short, their views tend to be extreme and should mostly be ignored. They are tolerated because they are the reason a lot of guys found their way to TRP (so, they are doing some good, even if it's just advertising).

When I was younger and less experienced, I learned a lot of reading lay reports (on the old MASF forum). I was on the forums for two years, and seeing the change over long periods of time that certain posters went through was pretty educational. Now, I almost never read them. There's really not much more for me to gain from them. I don't post them anymore either, as most of the stuff I WOULD write about tends to sound made up (i.e. threesomes and swinger parties and stuff like that). Oh, and I'm…

A few, when I was younger, fairly ignorant, and terrified of getting girls pregnant. However, this is the wrong question. What makes dating difficult for women is a quality problem. They want a quality guy with a list of traits (traits are dependent on the girl), even if they are just looking for casual sex. Most guys wont have all the traits that a girl is looking for. Therefore, they will have to go through a lot of frustrating encounters to find a guy that suits them. To add to their unfortun…

However, try and build other people up and make them feel good about themselves. In their minds, you'll be different from who you were.. but they'll more easily a…

Would you tell an 8 year old about those kinds of events? Let me put it another way.. figure out the underlying message you want to send. Do you want to convey social proof? If so, then stick to conversation about cool stuff you've done and interesting people you've met. You can talk about political and philosophical events, but talk about the gathering rather than the underlying politics / philosophical arguments.

Talk about your exciting life. Talk about your friends. Talk about recent events you've been to. Talk about future plans. Talk about shit you have in common. Start the screening process by asking her questions about herself. Tease her about her answers. Just avoid politics, philosophy, religion or any morbid topics. The conversation should be playful and light.. as if you were talking to an 8 year old.

A popular argument for pushing through LMR is that the woman actually just wants to be dominated. While this can be the case for some women, there are others who don't (or at least not consensually). Actually, I always thought it was either 1) a subconscious test of a man's frame or 2) a way to disclaim responsibility for her actions, so that her action doesn't result in her being shamed socially. That being said, your solution just isn't very practical. It would break the flow of the interactio…

I rarely go to bars. Instead of drinking at bars, I learned to dance. All decent sized cities have some kind of dance scene (salsa, blues, swing, etc.). It's a fun hobby and it's actually easier to meet hot women dancing than it is in a bar, because they are more more open to being approached.

I read social cues just fine, actually. It's more that I did not understand certain things when I was younger that women seemed to know intuitively. I didn't understand what the opposite sex found attractive. I was led to have certain expectations regarding relationships, that weren't even remotely realistic. I didn't understand flirting very well. I was very passive about meeting girls.. and I had SOME success at this because I had a large group of friends and I'm reasonably attractive, but it …

Women can make awesome wings, they just go about it differently than guys. Women trust other women. If a woman talks up a guy (especially sexually, like saying he has good in bed or is well-endowed), then it can drastically increase a guys chances of hooking up. Even just suggesting to a girl (i.e. social approval) that she should sleep with a guy "because he really needs to get laid" can work well. Works best if the wing is an alpha female.
/r/askTRP02/05/14 03:17 PM

Actually, the alpha female of the group probably didn't find you acceptable. The result was a group rejection. The theory is convoluted and creates unnecessary new vocabulary. When I said it was "heavy-handed", I meant that it read like a soft-marketing pitch for a pick-up "guru". Furthermore, the theory, even if it's all true, adds no value. There are no conclusions to be drawn from these observations. It just provides another series of categories which we can mentally place people into.

Rise of feminism, the sexual revolution of the 70's, big push for equality of the sexes (especially in the workplace). Women are no longer as dependent on men for their income. I disagree.. kind of. Here's what's really going on: societal expectations for what women SHOULD act like are getting further and further away from what women actually do act like. Women are just acting like women. If you give them more freedom from conservative societal expectations, then they'll continue to act even more like what they are. Your unrealistic expectations are what's causing the issue. Learn to be flexible and adapt to the world as it is, rather than how you wish it was.

First, I don't do monogamy so I'm always dating 2-3 girls at a time. I'm always open about the fact that I date multiple girls. Second, I have a knack for remaining friends with girls, even after we've stopped sleeping together. So, I have the girls I date, the girls I used to date, and all their female friends, who usually think I'm fascinating.. some kind of weird anomaly. I typically don't meet their male friends, or if I do, they are beta/orbiters. Oh and I'm 32 and typically date girls in t…

The relationship is over and the damage has been done. There's no easy recovery at this point. You'll need to revisit the situation later on down the line.. after you've made yourself into a higher value male. "Go Fuck Ten Other Women" Is an old adage from the pick-up community. I suggest you give it a try.

Nah, that isn't the case. The dude was very conservative and monogamously minded. He was also head over heels in love with her (i.e. heavy oneitus). If she really wanted the serious beta bucks, then it was there for the taking. I'm the die hard non-monogamous one whos looking forward to our open marriage. So yeah, I doubt that's her game. The bottom line is that she's not a ho. I know how to screen women for "good girl" qualities. EDIT: Here's a post I made about the whole thing shortly after it…

Meh, I don't ever feel the need to police other people's relationships. Then again, I'm non-monogamous and don't really have to worry about this kind of thing happening to me.

My personal experiences contradict your theory. I won hands down over beta bucks. A 26 year old hedge fund manger tried to buy one of my plates away from me. He offered her an all expense paid trip to France.. for a year (because he could work from anywhere in the world), among other things. She turned him down flat. That was three years ago; we're engaged now. Chumps with money are still chumps.

Ehh.. I think we say that for both reasons, actually: 1) Because drunk girls can't legally give consent and 2) because they will be believed in court when they say they didn't give consent.

She was so drunk that she passed out in her closet. There was a witness. She could not give consent. No other details matter. He committed rape (according to US law). What part of that am I not communicating properly?
/r/askTRP14/04/14 05:44 PM

/Shrug The experiences are really too different to compare, IMO. It's entirely dependent upon the person. I'm just trying to add some balance. Women have their own set of dating frustrations.
/r/TheRedPill14/04/14 04:43 PM

The thing is.. it doesn't matter how it went down. She was VERY OBVIOUSLY too drunk to consent. Even if he was under the impression that it was consensual, it was still rape. EDIT: Downvote me if you want, but I went to law school in the US and I'm just telling you how it is. A court of law is going to take one look at the details of the case and conclude that it was rape. Op's a witness to the fact that she was too drunk to consent.
/r/askTRP14/04/14 03:59 PM

Sex with a girl who's so drunk she passes out in her closet.. is rape. I'm sorry, but I don't view this as a grey area. He may not be a rapist, in that he probably thought it was consensual. However, he was still in the wrong, both ethically and legally. She was too drunk to give consent and she has a right to be very, very upset. This is exactly why we tell people in this sub not to have sex with extremely drunk girls. EDIT: Leave for dinner with a bunch of upvotes.. then all posts got downvote…

The flip-side of this is that women have a quality problem, rather than a quantity problem. They need to weed through all the potential dates to find the Alpha's. This can be really frustrating for women, since Alpha's are kind of rare and a lot of non-alphas try to fake alpha characteristics. Let's face it, a lot of people shell out huge sums of money for liberal arts degrees that wont get them employed after they've graduated. Not cynical, just realists. Part of TRP is developing more realistic expectations when it comes to women and relationships. Managing expectations are important. For example, I'm an accountant. If a tell a client that they owe 1,000, but then instead they get a refund of $500, then they're really happy. What do women want out of relationships? "Good girls" want somebody "worthy" to take care of. "Freaks" want external validation and strong emotional states. "Hoes" want material possessions and/or status. If you can figure out what type of girl you're dealing with and give her what she wants, then you'll do just fine. Just my 2 cents.

Frankly, no. Pursuing a girl shortly after she's broken up with you is almost always a bad move. It really only works when the new guy (or the new potential guy) doesn't work out as expected. Moreover, it usually makes the situation worse. Much worse. It comes off as needy/desperate and shows the girl that she has ALL the power. The Alpha thing to do is to project an abundance mentality. Dancing (swing, blues, tango, salsa, etc.) It has a learning curve and, as a guy, the only way to get better is to go out and ask women to dance with you. It takes a lot of guts when you're first starting out, because you KNOW you're not as good as all the other guys in the room. After all, it's up to you to LEAD the dance. Technically, the only rule I have with my primary LTR is "be honest." Fortunately, rules haven't really been necessary. All my relationships start as casual "fuck buddy" type relationships, with no rules. Then the relationships progressively get more serious as time goes on. TRP guy here: TRP guys tend to over-simplify lessons in order to instruct other guys. The underlying message we are trying to send is that a relationship should fulfill a guy's sexual NEEDS. If a guy's needs aren't getting met, then no other factors matter because the relationship isn't sustainable. Unfortunately, a lot of guys have a problem voicing their needs and following through when their needs aren't being met. Therefore, TRP spends a lot of time focusing on this point. This is me. I'm an introvert. I've also learned to enjoy socializing more as I've gotten older. Learning pick-up helped tremendously. Also, having open relationships helps. The potential for sex is a huge motivator to get me out into social situations, so I tend to get very anti-social when I'm in monogamous relationships. I've had sex with just over 50 women and my experiences echo Peonpete's. Some girls are ridiculously fun in bed and sessions can last for hours with multiple, mind-blowing orgasms. Here's the thing about that chart. It does not take into account people who stay together, but are miserable and/or have dead bedrooms. Marriage is hard no matter who your partner is. Conservative are just less likely to initiate divorces, because they don't believe in divorce. It doesn't mean that they are any better off than less conservative girls. I have not done much traveling in Asia. I've been to Taipei, but I didn't have that experience there. I also didn't get that vibe from the Vietnamese girl I dated. This just tells me that you didn't actually read the content of the post. It's meant to cover (mostly) all types of women. If you figure out what type of girl you are dealing with, then you know what to expect from them (i.e. you shouldn't expect a freak to act like a good girl). How to screen women: Good Girls - Girls who are happy in relationships when their significant other is happy. These girls will tend to go out of their way to do nice things for their guys: cook, clean, give them gifts, play out their sexual fantasies, etc. They are the easiest type to maintain a long term relationship with because they make it fairly easy for the guy. Try this.. give her a clitoral orgasm, then switch to PIV sex for awhile. After a fair amount of time, switch back to oral sex (no fingers, she'll probably be too sensitive for fingers). Do you two ever use toys? The hitachi magic wand + the Tri-gasm attachment is one of my favorite things ever. I have had 100% success rate with it giving girls orgasms. It's pretty much the perfect thing to use for the second orgasm.. especially for the guys who are squeamish about giving oral after PIV.

There's a big difference between "can't come from PIV" and "they only come once". Many girls can come multiple times from clitorial stimulation in a single session. There will always be girls who can only come once, and their will be girls who can't come at all. Do your best, be enthusiastic about their bodies.. make them feel like they are hot and that you had a great orgasm. 100% open and honest. Some of the girls I date choose to see other guys as well, some don't. It's not a big deal to me either way. The best advice I received from the pick-up community was about managing long term relationships. Finding women to date is the easy part. Something you have to understand about Taiwan.. the ideal of beauty is stick thin, bordering on anorexic. Girls with any kind of curves are considered fat. That's why western men are so popular there, because we are attracted to their "unattractive" women. Furthermore, Taipei (where I assume they are) has a fairly large red light district. It's just not socially acceptable for women to be that forward. These guys probably assume this girl is a prostitute.

Just "be busy". You are a busy guy with people to see and things to do. You just don't have the time to text all day. Be prepared for a bit of drama / shit tests. Girls HATE when you dial back any kind of relationship. Most importantly, go on more dates. If she's really just a FWB, then you should be out meeting / dating other girls when you're not seeing her.

It's all about your frame. The right frame is: "I'm doing this for me. However, I am also the one who's allowing you to have these experiences." Really, everybody wins if you're both into it. It's a kink and TRP is pretty okay with people exploring kinky sexual relationships. I'm in an open relationship and it has not affected our power dynamic. My girlfriend is still very submissive to me, even though she has "secondary" relationships.

As a general rule, I don't text girls back unless it's to respond to a question or to plan a logistics (i.e. where / when I will see them next). It's a good rule and it's served me well. Unfortunately, you're making mistakes. You can make as many labels as you want, but if you are acting like a boyfriend then she will think of you as her boyfriend (and will eventually start causing drama due to this). However a quick search on polyamory in trp will show a pretty negative look on polyamory. Most of which said it was great for the hypergamous female but horrible for the male. It's fine. Dressing well can only help you in the long run, in your professional life and with women. I don't have any fashion sense of my own, but I do dress well. My secret is that I always take a cute girl shopping with me when I buy clothes. I usually have a very basic idea of what I'm going for, but I let the girls handle picking out stuff for me to try on. Then I buy the outfits that they like the best. As a note, a feminine vibe can even still get you laid. Straight women like to sleep wi…

Unfortunately, there's absolutely nothing you can do. Guys just don't take advice on relationships, unless they seek it for themselves. As the friend, the best thing you can do is 1) teach by example and 2) help him pick up the pieces once his relationship is over. As a last ditch effort, you could buy him a copy of The Game. It's a bit outdated, but it's eye opening if somebody doesn't know anything about pick-up.

This is just a reminder to all you guys: don't get too wrapped up in your reading list. After a certain point, it's just mental masturbation and it's not doing you any good. Sex survey statistics are almost universally considered to be unreliable, because people often feel compelled to lie when asked about their sexual history. Anyway, it's not an accurate statistic. It's just a catchy statistic which we used to make a point. Before learning pick-up, I had 3 sexual partners. Post pick-up, 48 partners. Based on my own experiences, I've hypothesized that naturals and people who learned to act like naturals (e.g. me), tend to have considerably more sex than other men. …

Seriously.. nobody "negs" anymore. That is antiquated pick-up community terminology.. it was developed by Mystery to pick up super models in clubs (and popularized by the book, "The Game"). It's not practical for 99.9% of the male population. Moreover, negging was never about making a woman feel bad. Mystery used it to set himself apart from a woman's orbiters by being different - it's not an insult and it's not a compliment. Unfortunately, guys who are new to the pick-up community think it's a …

Well, that's just it. I feel bad for them, so I try to help. I feel like TRP is, perhaps, a necessary evil. Guys who find their way there have been badly burnt due to their unrealistic expectations in previous relationships. It might be that it's good for guys like that to have a place to vent and let the poison out. Then guys like me can help them turn that anger into motivation to better themselves, while also giving them more realistic expectations in the future.

There's a big difference between r/seduction and r/TRP. TRP is a support group for guys who have been badly burned in past relationships / dating experiences. Most new guys here are not in the right head-space to really take advantage of female friendships. Moreover, they can be detrimental due to the time wasting factor. TRP generally advocates a more extreme approach in order to incite behavioral changes more quickly.

Adding in the exclusive part is what will cause you problems in the long run. If you want somebody who's essentially monogamous, then she'll either be into you or be into your girlfriend (because that's how monogamous people operate). This will lead to resentment between you and your wife in the long run.

Slowly introduce more and more kink into your sex life. Buy her toys. Start with basic toys (i.e. vibrator), bed restraints, then anal vibrator. It's a process. After awhile start indulging her submissive tendencies. Give her commands. Reward / punish her based on her behavior. During sex, tell her what you fantasize doing to her. The pick-up community never intended to imply that humans were pack animals and governed by the same hierarchical model as other pack animals. They coined the term to describe an obvious phenomenon: Certain men have more social status than others, and women respond to that and want to sleep with those men. The term was convenient because there is a parallel to the animal kingdom: alpha's of the pack had better access to the females of the pack.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/14 03:16 AM

Unfortunately, TRP stole a lot of their terminology wholesale from the pick-up communities, which pre-date TRP by at least a decade. In pack animals, alphas are the animal with highest rank among the pack. I believe the pick up community picked it up the term as an ideal to strive for. Alpha men, guys with the highest social rank, became people to be examined and dissected. People tried to copy their attitudes and looks (example: Mystery got his whole "peacocking" thing by emulating rock stars).…

Guys, this is just an argument of semantics. Alpha traits are just traits that the majority of women find attractive. Alpha and Beta are a spectrum. This answer only slightly annoys me. What the statistic really means is that women with "traditional values" don't get divorces. Unfortunately, many of these women still have bad marriages. The studies do not take that factor into consideration. On that note: female intelligence, geography and age at time of marriage also are big indicators of marriage dissolution. The big takeaway from all this is that monogamous marriage is hard.

No, that's absurd. First, alpha, in TRP rhetoric, mostly means "attractive to women". One of the goals of TRP is to get men to develop more attractive traits. Second, I'm all for maximizing personal happiness, but not at the expense of others. That would be contradictory.. hurting the people around me would make me unhappy. From the comments, it sounds like you've already made up your mind. That's fine. Don't do things that wont make you happy. Instead, figure out what WILL make you happy and do that. Now, to counter your claim. TRP functions first and foremost as a support group for beta males. Many people post their stories and ask for help (just spend some time reading r/askTRP for examples). Furthermore, oth…

Your comment is both confusing AND off-topic. First, we aren't talking about the pick-up community. We are talking about TRP. TRP has roots in the pick-up community, but it is an entirely different animal. Also, what does volunteering at a homeless shelter have to do with bettering yourself? Wouldn't that be bettering your society? tl;dr - your comment was bad and you should feel bad.

TRP knowledge has helped me bring MORE women into my life, which has made me a happier person. I've read the same things you have, but reached an entirely different conclusion. Women can be awesome if you are a man that they can respect. If you fuck things up and lose that respect, women can be absolutely evil towards you. Ultimately, we are all here to learn how to not fuck things up. Just my 2 cents.

Okay.. so.. you're just wrong then? TRP came out of the marriage between Mens' Rights groups and the pick-up community. However, it functions as more of a support group. Narcissists don't gather together in forums to better themselves.

I think you handled it just fine. She cancalled, but she communicated with you, rescheduled for a specific time, and she had a plausible excuse. You're making the assumption that women will see this information and react with rational manipulation. For the majority of women, female manipulation is something ingrained in their biological coding.. it's not something that's rational. One man's perspective: I think it's bullshit. A woman is a woman is a woman. You can find good women in the US, you just have to be able to spot them in the wild (a skill many men lack). You can also find bad women abroad (and if you can't spot bad women in the US, then you definitely wont be able to spot them in a foreign culture). Foreign women have their own sets of issues. Yes, they have DIFFERENT issues than women in the west, but they can be just as bad. Just my 2 cents.

Most of my outfits are fitted, button down shirts with rolled up sleeves and nice jeans/ dress shoes. Red pill is what you make of it. I'm wired for non-monogamy / polyamory, but many people are not (and that's okay). From a TRP standpoint, I think it's just important that guys understand the pros and cons of both. Unfortunately, many guys don't understand the pitfalls of monogamy. So you're going to be the one to ask her for monogamy? Is that how you want this to play out? And to do this, you want to hit her with some kind of ultimatum? I have reservations about this game plan. Personally, I'd skip the confrontation, write her off as a good FWB (I.e. I'm confused. My girlfriend is submissive to me, but very dominant around other women (she's bi-sexual). She's an alpha female; other women defer to her. Even women who enjoy sexually dominating guys, still like Alpha guys. I can also say that I'd allow a girl to sexually dominate me, and that doesn't make me any less of an Alpha male. It's really not so much deference we are going for, as it is respect. Our women need to respect us. Just some misc. thoughts on the subject.

Your version of TRP: "All Women think and act like XYZ" You: "All TRP men think and act like XYZ" What you fail to understand about TRP: When men first find TRP.. they are typically hurt and angry (i.e. recovering beta males). I'm promoting ACTUAL science. That's the whole point of linking the pop-science summary, it has sources. Those who are interested can follow the sources and go read the research papers. Those who aren't interested, or are lazy, will just have to be content with the pop-science summary. No. I think you read me wrong. My point is that it's natural for fhqwhgads to be enjoying a happy and healthy relationship, because at this point her relationship is easier to maintain (due to all happy brain chemicals: endophins, oxytocin, etc.). Well, the oxytocin/endorphins = strong pair bonding behavior has been documented in several studies at this point. Awhile? That actually sounds like you A) either don't know or B) don't want to admit that it's actually less than two years. The fact that you think you are out of the infatuation stage isn't relevant. The endorphins last for 2-2.5 years.

How long have you been dating? Are you monogamous? This is relevant information. Monogamous relationships tend to be pretty easy for the first 2 years, thanks to all the endorphins. They are also pretty easy when couples have small children, for the same reason. Nobody is opposed to "good relationships". First, obviously, don't sleep with crazy women. Second, if you do, then pay very close attention to their emotional state. Emotional women do not differentiate between emotional harm and physical harm. In their minds, post-sex emotional harm = non-consensual sex (i.e. rape). Do you understand the correlation between endorphin-output and relationship-happiness? I'm guessing you're married with small children? We are built for short term monogamy. Our bodies give us incentive to meet somebody and stay with them long enough to see children through infancy. To do this the body releases endorphins when we meet somebody knew. Being alpha in this situation is about being an effective leader and about rising above any drama. To a lesser extent, it's about managing your ex's emotions in a positive way (because, when a kid is involved, a women's responses are going to be overwhelmingly emotional). I agree, to a point. Generalizations and stereotypes are the easiest way to describe a group of people. Where they go wrong is when they are applied to an individual. Furthermore, as globalization becomes more prevalent, the races will intermingle to a point where it wont even matter. TRP is actually comprised of a lot of different views (on ALL of these questions). TRP is essentially a collection of observations about guys in healthy, successful relationships. The end goal is to educate guys on what to realistically expect from their interactions with the opposite sex. Hey, I can dance, but I don't dance at clubs if I can avoid it. I never get anywhere with girls on the dance floor. Oh, and dancing WITH GIRLS in a club usually just means standing there so she has somebody to grind against. It's not actual dancing (unless you're at a salsa club). Just say'n. If you want to learn how to really dance, start with East Coast Swing lessons. It's like training wheels for real dancing.

Ehhh.. some guys DO actually find submission to be super kinky and fun. I don't think it's quite the same as being a clueless beta. Beta guys tend to want to be Alphas. Sexually submissive guys tend to be happy being sexually submissive guys. Whether or not this is a red pill territory hinges on a "nature vs. nurture" argument. EDIT: Sexual submission is a kink. I don't really think it's TRP's place to tell people which kinks are "okay" and which aren't. Sure, it limits guys to a certain type of…

Realistically, both feminism and TRP have the same problem: the loudest and most extreme viewpoints tend to get the most attention. It is great that you have naturally been able to figure out healthy male/female interactions. Unfortunately, not every guy is so lucky. On the bright side, men tend to process social dynamics in a very logical manner. If it can be explained, then men can learn it. Therefore, we get together here, share stories and compare notes in order to foster a better understand…

Women thrive on attention. The best way to correct bad behavior is to withhold your attention for a period of time. In pick-up, it's commonly referred to as a "soft next". You just cut all contact for a couple days. Further reading: http://www.pick-up-artist-forum.com/drama-free-relationships-3-the-soft-next-vt125554.html

"TRP Theory" is just a collection of observations about how to interact with women in a healthy manner. It's basically us guys coming together to share experiences and learn from each other. Unfortunately, most guys grow up with a lot of unrealistic expectations regarding women, due to Disney, religion, etc. As to your second question: respect the people who earn your respect. Women shouldn't get your respect just for having a vagina, that just leads to women developing an entitlement complex. Y…

I dance East Coast Swing and Blues. I also dance Lindy-Hop, although poorly. It's a great scene to get into. I could also see it helping with insecurities, once you get over the initial learning phase. You get to meet a ton of people, dance with a lot of cute girls, and your dancing skills (and confidence) will definitely improve with practice. Just be sure to start with a style of dance that has a dance scene in your area. Salsa is a pretty safe bet.

Slut-shaming in society CONDITIONS women to lie to men about their sexual history. It's why I dislike TRP's focus on numbers, rather than all "red-flag" behavior. Perhaps you can help me amend my claim to be more technically accurate? We are getting bogged down in semantics and its possible I'm not using the correct terminology. This whole conversation thread is fairly off-topic. It's not so much that I'm not good at research, it's just that finding the source documents was overkill. The articles show that scientific evidence exists, which is the only point I was attempting to make. Anyway, it took me a further 60 seconds to use the articles to find the source documents, which I link further down in the thread (because people are lazy and can't work the google for themselves).

I spent about 30 seconds finding the articles. They both discuss scientific papers. Go and read the source materials if you are interested. Both articles (and their source material) support the hypothesis that female competitiveness is biological (and different than male competitiveness).
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/13 07:34 PM

I'm sure there are many ways you could test this. If you wanted to get elaborate you could take a movie with no gender elements and then create two versions of it: One with a male lead and one with a female lead. Then show both movies to groups of women and have them rate the movies in several different ways. According to my theory, the women would enjoy the movie more with a male lead, despite the fact that it adds nothing to the story. So yeah, that's one idea off the top of my head.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/13 07:22 PM

Hypothesis: Women are too competitive with each other to really enjoy seeing movies about other women, unless it's a movie with an attractive male lead. Therefore, movies about women do not do well in theaters (and producers are less likely to agree to fund their production).

On the whole, TRP doesn't typically advocate getting married. However, I realize that most people just aren't going to take that advice due to societal pressures. Here's how I did it. Well as a (mostly) red-piller, I have no idea. I'm guessing that the real answer is some combination of biological and societal. I'm not sure how this distinction is relevant to the mission of TRP. Yes, but she is more often disappointed by the sex she finds. Conclusion: both sexes have issues finding suitable partners. Men have a quantity issue while women have a quality issue.

Poly-guy perspective: my girlfriend has done a lot of casual dating in our 3+ year relationship. It's easier for her to find sex, but much harder for her to find good sex. For women like her (i.e. more submissive), men control how good the sex is and the majority of guys aren't that good at it. For me, on the other hand, it is harder for me to find sex partners, but the sex is nearly always good when I find them.

Thank you for your response. I understand that TRP is amoral. I'm an atheist, so morals play no part in my assessment. There are better screening methods than number of partners. However, that's the only one I see TRP mentioning. The reason I dislike this method is because it gives women 1) a strong incentive to lie to men and 2) an incentive to pass over honest "good guys" in favor of discreet "bad boys". Female attraction changes depending on where they are on their cycle (which makes this assessment difficult). Also, guy A needs a tan for this to be a fair. Also, you should pick two participants who are the same age. Guy A looks younger (to me, at least). Older guys and tan guys are generally more attractive to women so I'm going to go 65 / 35 in favor of the muscular guy.

"Sluts are not attractive to us" WTF, man? How is this healthy? Espousing this viewpoint isn't going to help men get better with women. This touches on the point I was originally intending to make. The pick-up community generally has a better, more comprehensive analysis of women's behavior than TRP. TRP holds women accountable for bad behavior in relationships, but also punishes women for being sexually adventurous when they are single. Slut shaming is just an expression of male insecurity and misdirected anger. I also find the TRP talking points about SMV (sexual market value) to be utterly absurd (i.e. the result of bad analy…

I'm 31, I'm non-monogamous and I've had 50+ partners. This has not effected my sexual market value in the least. If a women asks how many partners I've had, then I honestly tell her that I don't keep count. That's the end of the discussion. If anything, the fact that I'm sexually experienced has dramatically increased my SMV. I also think women who have had a lot of partners are great! I like my women to be sexually adventurous. Slut-shaming is bad for men.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/13 04:20 PM

Not the point. IMO, slut shaming is an unhealthy attitude that derives from insecurities of other men. It creates a double standard, provides an incentive for women to lie to men, and leads to less decent guys getting laid. Unfortunately, if I were to espouse my views on slut-shaming on the TRP forums, then I would be downvoted out of the thread. It makes me view r/trp as just a beta male support group.

Guy here. Honestly, I don't post in either of those places anymore either. /trp because of all the slut-shaming and /seduction because of all the "nice guy" white knights. Those reddits are like beta-male support groups. Opinions of alpha's are not particularly welcome. I'd suggest sticking to pick-up community forums if you really want to help guys get better with women. Just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't actually consider myself to be "blue pill". I'm a fairly avid contributor to the pick-community, so I think that puts more more in the red camp. However, i find the whole red pill slut-shaming thing to be incredibly immature. IMO, slut shaming derives from a hatred of other men. It got to the point where I had to unsubscribe myself from the reddit and disassociate myself with the movement. tl;dr - I'm a red pill guy who disagrees with some of the core themes of the movement.

Lying and cheating are more headache then they are worth. Eventually, everybody gets caught. Also, I think it's way more Alpha to just own it and be the "honest asshole". Personally, I went non-monogamous / poly and never looked back. I'm WAY happier now in my "open and honest" poly relationships, than I ever was in a monogamous relationship. Just my 2 cents.

Repost: How to screen women & red flags to look out for: Good Girls - Girls who are happy in relationships when their significant other is happy. These girls will tend to go out of their way to do nice things for their guys: cook, clean, give them gifts, play out their sexual fantasies, etc. They are the easiest type to maintain a long term relationship with because they make it fairly easy for the guy. Freaks - Girls who are happy in relationships when they receive attention and strong emotiona…
