We made a mistake when we established social security.

In the old years, women and men had to undergo life’s hardships, hunger, war, disease, lack of aids for house construction and repair and resources.. etc, therefore, we as humans had to make decisions based on long term outcomes to survive in life and so our offspring.

Lately however, life became easier, education and health also house subsidizes, are becoming free (thanks to tax paid by hardworking people and international trade), then, therefore at these times, leisure time became possible, sometimes more than work. The long term thinking (delayed gratification) is not needed anymore, older generation forgot how to do it and certainly didn’t teach it for their children today.

Now, I am a 31 year old, a medical doctor with six figures salary, living in Western Europe, I only came to this position after 6 years Med school, and 5 years residency and two year fellowships, and I had to pass many filters, sometimes work 70h per week, I had to do many sacrifices at my social life and hobbies, and had to do many parts of my training that I didn’t like at all, struggled through depression, loneliness and what kept was the belief that society would appreciate my effort, and that for us as a society to function, everyone would have to make an effort.

However, I have seen in my practice many clients, some are single mothers who switch between varying jobs, sometimes they receive state aid, because the father doesn’t have a job, or maybe he left for the country where he immigrated from.. etc. And some women who come from good families with good education but ended up with men who are more on doing hookah or marijuana and play video games all the time, not to mention some men with no social role and no skill who dependent on their families, not only the customers, sometimes even people working on the hospital, and you’d think “ah they must be going through hardships to provide for themselves or their children”. But no, the opposite, thanks to state support, actually you’d find them frequently talking about their vacations rather than their house. Why? Thanks to hardworking people who decided to sacrifice their youth years in exchange to advance society, who would usually have a higher tax rate.

So it’s very apparent, if a state would provide social security that take care of education, health, housing and retirement for people who have not worked half of their lives, then why would that society work hard? Or even appreciate people who work hard? it’s the opposite, it’s more logical at these circumstances, to fuck everyone, unemployed, immigrants, starving artists, don’t study, don’t go to challenging specialities and not be anything just dragging down society economy.

And from here come the behavior of modern day women, if there is no long term consequences, then there will never be good decisions, no wonder why you find many women confused of what they want to do in life but totally certain when it comes to the impulsive decision on who to fuck tonight.

Therefore, if society need to advance, we have to establish a social security based on meritocracy. cut the failed ones loose and let them be dependent on themselves, sometimes even their children so this mentality doesn’t stay in the society.
