Some models freely and willingly pose for a coffee company advertisement. Apparently this is deeply offensive to feminists on r/twoxchromosomes.

yeah those are not classy or tasteful ads, but not sexist in the slightest. You have to wonder how backwards feminism is when women being uninhibited or free with their sexuality (for money no less) is sexist to women. LOL.

Its sexist to the fat women who don't look that good, and the ads remind them how bad they look.

This seems to agree with the post some time back showing that women are only offended by sexually explicit advertising when the cost of the item is relatively inexpensive- i.e. coffee.

Yes! This may explain the outrage.

I agree with the only sensible opinion posted on the thread:

It's certainly sensual, but hardly sexist.

Wow, I was like the top comment, I was quite surprised to see how graphic it is. I don't think this has much to do with feminist and more to do with modesty

[–]internet_terrorist0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

how does modesty, in the form of offense at promiscuity in advertising, find harbor in the same mind that promotes promiscuity as milestone behavior?

I'm not generally the type to advocate arson... actually, let's not finish that sentence on the internet.

Wow.

Take-home point: This illustrates the first rule of feminism perfectly. Women should be allowed to explore their sexuality in whatever way they want... unless it runs counter to the feminist agenda.

Notice how neither OP nor the comments even mention that there are plenty of scantily-clad men in those photos as well. Feminists don't give a shit about men.

I've been noticing an interesting double standard recently:

If a female wants to have tons of casual sex with no strings attached, she's just exploring her sexuality! She discovering her self and finding her life's purpose in this complex 21st century!

If a man wants to have tons of casual sex with no strings attached, he's a misogynistic douchebag who manipulates and takes advantage of women - who just can't make decisions themselves.

You forgot the part where he's a rapist and using his privilege.

[–]jelloba 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Eh, not sexist at all, but the ads are in extremely poor taste.

So in almost all of those, there was a man in on the sexy time too. When I look at it and think "Hell yeah get your dick sucked!" the women look at this and think "Hell yeah get my snizz stuffed by that washboard abs guy!"

There's a reason people use sexual images in marketing. It works. This is just that. There is nothing wrong with how the woman is being portrayed in these adds. That they can be sexual with a man is a problem?

Now THIS on the other hand...
