The biggest obstacle that I had to stumble upon was lying to myself. It kept me from accomplishing what I wanted to do in life, from being successful and productive. When you lie to yourself, you set yourself up with fear, anxiety, pain. I got this article from a RP video that listed 5 ways we usually lie to ourselves. The first step is to acknowledge the fact that this is a means to deceit our very person. I hope this helps those that are lying to themselves like me. Fucking stupid brain. This is probably due to social conditioning... Anyway, here we go.
Lie # 1 : I don't deserve this
Whether you explicitly said this or simply felt like this, this is the kind of message that you send to other people. But if you feel like you don't deserve anything, nothing actually happens to you. It's a connivance of the starts in the universe when they speak your fate after you give them the message that you send them.
There are lots of people who get caught up in the past. Might it be a feeling of guilt or regret, learn to let it go 'cause it's not going to help you achieve your goals for the future. Whether you deserve it or not, the rule has spoken and the past has already happened. Change your mindset about that.
Lie # 2: I can't do this
I can't do this sacrifice for health. I can't be in a perfect relationship. I can't afford those new shoes. I can't change. There are a lot of things that we tell ourselves for what we can't do. It's a negative impression that we breed in ourselves and it's unhealthily affecting the way we pursue our goals.
The perfect switch to address this lie is to first recognize that you're saying such to yourself. And the second thing is to twist that statement and say instead "I can do this!" With that kind of mentality, there you'll have that motivation to do things in a better way. You are in full control of your future and you're able to carve your destination for simply having the ability to do the things that you want to do.
You just have to believe in yourself first in order for everyone else to follow. That way, you're becoming real to your life and giving yourself a shot to achieve your goals.
Lie # 3: I'm bored
One of the biggest lies that people usually say. A lot of people say they want to do something to get away from boredom.
So first of all, recognize why you're bored. Are you doing something that you're not that passionate about? Is it something that will not help you in your promise to get to your goals? Are you not feeling the excitement anymore of waking up in bed and doing the things that make you happy?
If your answer is yes, it's now time to make a SHIFT out of that experience.
And the fastest way to shift our of that experience is by being giving-centric. Start giving out from yourself towards the community. Give more of yourself. Give more of your family. Give more of your community. And surely, it will snap out the boredom of of you.
Lie # 4: The Justification Lie
It's simply justifying why you're doing something else. It's a trap that's going to hinder you from achieving your goals. It's making excuses to doing something unpleasant to compensate for the good things done, which compromises the latter in a lot of ways most especially physically.
This is something that we highly discourage and we want you to break away from any habit of justification lie.
Lie # 5: I'm stressed out
When we claim that we're stressed out, we're obviously passing the burden to the rest of the world - may it be our family, friends, colleagues, work, etc. We're not taking full responsibility of our very own actions. And we're getting outside of ourselves, living in that area.
To deal with that, you have to recognize and understand that you have the power to eliminate all this stress inside of you but you have to know that it always starts with you. You have to be the change and at the center of such desire.
Try to change things from saying "I have to..." to "I get to ...", and slowly you'll realize that your stress levels are already going down.
