The girl I'm dating complements my life, instead of being a necessary part of it.
I hope you believe this. It seems like you still haven't hit your AWALT moment.

Good shit OP but yeah I got the same vibe.
I'm not a TRP guy in the sense that I roll from women to women, but I have respect for the guys that choose that life style.
This is a crucial step one must take before getting into LTR. After you've seen girldfriends and wives cheat on their men with you, you're expectations for a LTR are adjusted.

I'm pretty morally conservative, I would never knowingly sleep with a married or otherwise claimed woman, and if I found out that I had, I would feel awful. It's just not something that interests me.

Fair enough. I see it as the relationship was doomed anyway if the girls was willing to sleep with me. If not me than she wouldve cheated with someone else.
Even if you're not hooking up with other guys women, I think it's beneficial to spin plates before getting into a relationship.
Knowing how easy it is to get sex without commitment these days, makes you cautious with who you commit to. Why commit to a women who's willing to fuck guys on night one?

Precisely this. If you're looking to build a house, you don't start by picking out the curtains, you start by picking out a solid, stable piece of land, and a firm foundation. I screwed around in college, and I just got sick of being with women that didn't care about themselves.
This girl is different from what I've experienced in the past, she's on track to be a doctor, she's very invested in herself, and her future, and most importantly she respects herself. We dated for a month before we had sex, and I don't regret waiting.

Yikes. You are headed for some pain if you keep her on this pedestal.

I see what you're getting at, and perhaps it's just poor phrasing in my statement, but I don't think it's not really so much of a pedestal I'm putting her on as it is giving her the space to lay her cards out as she's willing. I simply chose not to pressure into things earlier than she was comfortable with. I let her open the door, now we play ball on my field.

OK, just remember that she probably has fucked a few guys on the first night.
I went to an elite university and worked in the medical field. Educated girls and/or doctors are no different than any other girl.

I felt like I was owed something because I'd worked my ass off in school to become successful in my field.
Yep, this is only one aspect of your road to success. Albeit a critical one. Without doing well in school and landing a good job, you wouldn't have the ability to do things like competitive biking, so don't belittle your achievements of your past. What a lot of people don't know, is that competitive biking is a very expensive hobby, moreso than even golfing and shooting.
Doing well in school and landing good paying jobs is the default minimum standard to successful alphas. Without these, nothing else matters.

As the saying goes, people would like to tell you that money can't buy happiness, but you're exactly correct. (A lot) of money bought me a bike, which allowed me to get my ass back into shape, and eventually meet a great new group of people, my current girlfriend included.
I'll never underestimate the importance of doing well for yourself, it's really a huge factor in giving you the freedom to do what you'd like.

I must ask, how did you set up a blind biking date? Cycling is my favorite thing in the world.
[–]DickamusMaxamus 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I met some really great people through cycling, specifically a pair of doctors. One day I jokingly mentioned that if they ever met a single doctor friend they should hook me up. They pulled through, and I didn't pass up the opportunity.

Roughly a year ago, I had just graduated college and got a brilliant job, and I thought those two items alone would qualify me as a top candidate for womanly attention.
This is the big lie that pervades society and the usual reason men find The Red Pill. The vast majority of ECs who I have spoken to all started out where you were. Educated and successful, as defined by society, i.e. working hard and bringing home a decent paycheck for your wife to spend while she shits all over you.
This is what TBP fails to realize - there is a reason the men here are attracted to the subreddit, there's a reason why people keep coming back.
I'm not a TRP guy in the sense that I roll from women to women, but I have respect for the guys that choose that life style. TRP showed me that in order for me to attract the kind of women I want, I needed to love myself, and depending on your situation, that can take a fuck load of work. Learning to truly love myself, and my own life has made me an infinitely happier person, and it's something she mentioned immediately drew her to me when we first started talking. The girl I'm dating complements my life, instead of being a necessary part of it.
Honestly you sound like a really cool guy who gets it. TRP shouldn't dictate every single decision you make and determine how to live your life - it simply presents all of your options without an agenda. What you choose to do with that information is your business.
