Been here for a few months. One thing that comes up time and again is to attain the "DGAF" mentality, and I feel there's more to it than people mention here (ironically).
I don't agree with everything TRP preaches, but it has helped me in many ways. This is something I've had to learn on my own; you don't just "get" the DGAF mentality. It's not something you can fake, it's not something you can immediately implement, especially long term. There is an important precursor to this element: being a person of value, and by default, a desirable person.
A few months ago, I decided to apply for a job as a skate instructor at my local gym. I've never loved anything more than ice hockey. I love absolutely everything about the game. Until now, I hadnt done anything I was truly passionate about in a while. Getting back into skating was a way for me to "keep the dream alive" and do something productive. Additionally, I had never taken a class in college I truly enjoyed. I took Hellenistic warfare, an introductory class, and aced the hell out of it with a decent amount of enjoyment. I found that doing things I like and things that gave me value (and others by default) gave me purpose and an unreal level of confidence.
Before this I had tried many methods, including Tinder, with very limited success. But the best way to attain the DGAF mentality is to become someone you, yourself, would desire or value. When you get this confidence, it's very easy to tackle life and handle rejection. Before you know it, you're naturally not giving a fuck because you know you possess value.
If any lessons of TRP are most true, they are of self-improvement. If you become someone of value, your psyche takes an immediate turn; it's OTHER people who are missing out on becoming part of your life, not vice-versa. This feeling is very liberating and helps you in every facet of life. Get out there, work smart, take chances, and do things you like; this is the best, if not the only way to attain an organic DGAF mentality.
