Holy fuck that's a huge wall of bullshit. In the time it took you to write that whiny pussy shit you could have made your body better by having a gym marathon. You could have started learning a new skill. You could have gone to the mall ans found out what it feels like to overcome fear and try to make new friends .But you decided to spend most of your evening justifying why you keep failing and always will.

Life is the story you tell yourself. When you believe shit like what you wrote its a self fulfilling prophecy

[–]bulldoozer 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Whether you tell yourself you can or you can't you are right both times.

No one here is arguing we have the same starting point or that life is in any way shape or form fair. You can spend your entire existence crying about the adversity you have for being born with darker skin, or having tits, or wanting to fuck someone of your gender, or having shit parents, etc. and there will be plenty of communities and shoulders to cry on.

But when you are ready to stop feeling sorry for yourself then come here and begin the path to improvement. "I'll never be like the 'normals' wahhh" well guess fucking what you aren't competing against them, you are competing against yourself. Your former self and your willingness to succumb to desires that set you back. When you're ready to go down that path we will help, but it's something you have to find on your own. Until then we won't help nor do we really care to.

So yea, agree with this reply 100%

Please edit this in accordance to the new thread guidelines. Way too fucking long.

I'm sorry but i can't possibly shrink that down to 1 or 2 sentences for a tl;dr

[–]heeeeeeeeheeeeeeeeee 17 points18 points19 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Longest post I've ever seen on TRP and no tl;dr, LOL. No one, and I'm telling you NO ONE is going to read all of that.

[+]moodyprism -18 points-17 points-16 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I read all of it. Holy shit isn't reading books part of the TRP sidebar for growing your SMV. If you can't read this I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but illiteracy aint one.

[–]Fukkthisgame 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Can't" and "have no fucking desire to read this great american novel of self pity" are two very different things.

[–]bulldoozer 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This exactly isn't an issue of the economist or a book on managing investments. I'll read that much when there is value to be had for reading that much. A reddit post by an expert in a field? Sure. A post that I'm reading for entertainment or pleasure? Absolutely. This drivel?

He was lucky to get 2 paragraphs of my time

[–]TunedtoPerfection 10 points11 points12 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

tl;dr : Here is a wall of text of me crying because when I try to better myself it takes longer then a week. Sometimes I fail at it too, but itstead of learning from my failures and getting back out there I'm gonna cry about it and think it's impossible. By doing this it will actually become impossible.

[–]Stythe 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Dude, what the hell?

Have you stopped to think about the fact that we're a bunch of talking monkeys on an organic spaceship floating around the galaxy? Or about how an asteroid could kill us off at any moment? Do it. Then ask yourself why you choose to think about negative stuff instead of doing anything about it. You're too concerned with what everyone else thinks. You should just pick a way to be (say happy, or dedicated) and act it out no matter what, until you realize you've become it.

[–]Asoka111110 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Doesn't have to be 1 or 2. Honestly, one or two paragraphs is still better. And a lessons learned portion, as stated in the thread guidelines, would help us take something from this Great Wall of text.

[–]1OneRedYear 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What a bunch of moaning pissy childish bullshit.

[–]nmkam 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Anyone who read it got a TL;DR? No way I'm reading all this.

[–]50pluspiller 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

tl;dr: Whiney bullshit, don't read.

[–]OhAndOneMoreThing 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

TL/DR - I'm going to feel sorry for myself, but not in a "depressed" way. No, I am going to blame everyone else for not being capable of understanding my shit, so that I can dismiss any possible advice they give, regardless how good.

[–]Senior Contributordr_warlock 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nigga, ain't no body got time for dat. I glanced at one sentence a paragraph and it was always whining. Go lift weights.

[–]moodyprism 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You seem to have a very biological determined view of things. I'll tell you this: if you simply accept your fate than you will definitely be the loser you described. If you build up the rage and guile to say "Fuck this I will not accept life as it is handed to me" then you at least have the chance of attaining the life you desire. Even if that chance is only 1% I'd take it over 0%

[–]urWildcard 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

For your sake I hope you choose to focus on the ray of light and not the darkness engulfing it.

Your paragraph was long but I got through enough to know this matters to you. , I have no agenda, you are just a stranger from the internet but I am responding only to reciprocate; take the TRP as a hypothesis - run with it, test it, tweak and retune every fine little detail until it works for you because IT DOES WORK.

There's nothing I can do if you choose to frame the issue as normal vs unique, privileged vs the not, the outcast vs the mainstream - these are true and yet this kind of bi-partisan analysis does you absolutely nothing beyond the first stage of your own evolution.

There's nothing I can do if you choose not to see the 300 pound guy with massive swag dating models, or the guy in a wheelchair with loving friends and wife. You do see the results, albeit not the process and by your writing certainly not the logic underneath.

Maybe TRP is a circlejerk, maybe it's a sham or a cult; but there's nothing anyone can do for you if you consciously choose not to draw all the good from this. Do you need someone that understands you to have good advice or help with the process. If you do, fine that's your need. But the reality is also that you will miss a ton in life because you set such a high bar for the acceptance of criteria.

Friends are friends, but I honestly find the best advice are by people who don't know a damn thing about me because that's the purest shit. If you need an honest tl:dr, work on your analysis on functions - the practical application of others' experience in your life.

And not fucking argue how the advice is not applicable because the circumstances are different - tailor the processes to yourself because that's not our job.

(And really it's the only thing no one else can do best but you)

1: "normal" is subjective. 2: idgaf what people think. 3: you shouldn't either. 4: stop crying.

[–]Hank711 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

A tl;dr: TRP doesn't work for destined losers (and implicitly such people exist).

Yeah, I guess some people just catch the short end of the stick. Maybe there are people who are destined to be losers. I doubt such people really exist, but whatever.

But your post raises an interesting point on which I've been thinking about regarding TRP: true thoughts v useful thoughts. You can't know for certain whether you are the destined loser or merely the conditional loser who, under the right circumstances, could be what you refer to as "normal," but I'll call "winners." The goal of this subreddit is to turn situational losers into winners by influencing their actions (by influencing their beliefs). We want as many people to try it out and, if destined losers exist, determine whether they are a destined loser or a conditional loser. Spreading your worldview might discourage some people from putting in full effort, or to give up too quickly. Therefore, even if you're totally right, it's not a useful belief that we should spread.

That said, I agree with you, TRP isn't for destined losers, if such people exist. I'm OK with that, but don't make me think about it.

If you're about to shoot up a school, I'd appreciate you deleting this thread so people didn't think this was some sort of Red Pill manifesto

[–]larrythetomato 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I was in a similar position to you a few years back, people are empathetic, when they see you feel shit, they feel shit, heck they say that communication is 90% non-verbal, yet we can all read the despair in your writing. I'm one of the 'non-normals' you speak of so I will throw you a bone.

I very specifically chose those last 4 words. Notice how you instantly hate me for writing those words, ready to dismiss what I am about to say, the first thing you need to learn is to take everything less personally. Most people are self absorbed. They have always been and always will be. Don't take everything personally.

There are two books that you should consider reading: The Power of Now Eckhart Tolle. This book it 25% nonsense, and 75% frame control gold. Never Eat Alone Keith Ferrazi. This book tells you secrets about friendships and networking. Did you know that you build relationships by asking them to do you stuff, not the other way around? Well now you do. Get out there and start asking people to do shit for you, small things.

Maybe one day a miracle will come.

Good things come to people who wait, but only those left behind by people who ask.

[–]PlaneHijacker 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

They're physically fit. Why? Because they came from a high income family that provided them with organic vegetables.

There was a guy who literally lost 27 pounds in a MONTH off basically eating junkfood. It's not what you eat. It's how you eat.

[–]DeezAlmonds2 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You hit the nail on the head with your description of the life and psychology of an "un-normal". However, this post comes off as an attempt to justify staying in that mental state. The more you accept the shitiness, the shittier things seem; its a cycle. The hardest part of improving yourself wont be overcoming your disadvantages, but changing the mindset through which you perceive them. As long as you THINK you wont get better, you never will. And as long as improvement is possible (it is), its worth working towards.

[–]CyberninjaZen 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is a very deep and emphatic post. I feel your pain, but this isn't the subreddit to post it on. The community here will tell you to man up and exercise and stuff. I suggest maybe narcistic parents.

[–]mechdemon -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The problem with OP is that they are trying to do the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results. yeah, a lot of the advice mentioned is trite bullshit but hey, most people ARE trite and shallow - this is what passes for wisdom in such circles.

You have to find what works for you - you don't like cold approaches, fine - work up a new method. You don't get invited to parties? Why not start small and invite a couple of friends over to watch movies?

What you don't do is write a goddamn wall of text justifying your failures. You pick yourself up, examine the situation, and try to come up with ways to do better next time. Barbaric yalps are encouraged, but not necessary.

[–]RawhlTahhyde -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

TL;DR: Pathetic rambling blaming everything on outside forces
