Here at TRP we like to get jacked up on knowledge as much as possible, and we like to share that knowledge with each other. That’s what this is to me – I don’t particularly notice any crass or abusive language because the talk here is similar to how men talk with other men IRL.
People seem to have a problem with this act, and claim that our discussing it, and advice given from it, is actually harmful because it's not "hard science", and as it’s not “hard science” that it is somehow automatically wrong. Well, waiting for “hard science” is disgustingly passive, and passivity is the road to liberalism, which has fucked a lot of things up due the ignorance in liberal ideology (e.g. people should be able to do anything they want).
To those people I would say, take the example of a simple act, like throwing a basketball through a hoop. One person might believe it impossible until they've weighed the ball, measured the angle of trajectory, measured their limbs and distance from said hoop, tested what force is required to reach it, and so on. They’ll do all that before ever attempting to throw a ball. Another person might pick up the ball and practice until a desired outcome is achieved, or a desired success-rate is achieved. The proof is in the achievement of the desired outcome (ball in hoop), not a bit of paper with some basic physics proving it’s possible.
In regards to this point, my experiences, though valid, may not amount to the same experiences as others. Even if said experience was identical, our reflections and lessons from those experiences aren't guaranteed to be identical either. Teaching a person about anything requires, if nothing else, for them to assess the variables of what could alter their opinion on the matter of which they're learning.
The thing is with TRP is that the vast majority of members have had the same experiences, so we are really seeking to build on the subjective-understanding we took from those experiences, and what can cause those assumptions (and their variables). Whilst advice followed from such a method of practice isn't going to be "true" as the rest of the science crowd would require, there will be instances that the information and advice given works. We might not call that a truth, but we can absolutely call it progress, and progress in a definable direction is attractive, especially where none was made with older more acceptable advice. TRP is simply an option not readily backed by society in the mainstream (or is, depending on your take on it).
This is all well and good, and proper TRP bread-and-butter, but I want to suggest to those that are often visitors of this subreddit to become aware of themselves, because at the heart of the message of TRP, is one that says "know thyself". We need to do this as a result of the abuse of BP Media and endless indoctrination, forging us into what we believe we should be. However, it seems to me that many people are still trying to play up to and 'show off' here with what they've done, or did, or had, or have etc. That's a fool's errand guys; it's wasted energy and your ego is inflating the opinion of your real value. It's the trap that many of us have identified in women (in relation to social media for example), and something we wish to do away with, so cut it out. Start to ground yourself in realism - it may require you to accept things about yourself that you've ignored, or don't want to admit, but the first step starts there. That’s the real pill – hell, it isn’t even really a pill, it’s more of an awakening. The state of men (and women) is a result of (wilful) ignorance, and that needs to be reversed.
The Ego
Our egos are supposed to be the barrier between the self and the unconscious (I'm going to speak in layman’s, and broadly, in order to appeal and not overcomplicate). Its job is to stop you from feeling bad about things, or giving you that extra kick of self-belief when you have none - it's a protection mechanism, a psychological autopilot, and it needs to be turned off if you want to be truly free and no longer bitter about what you can do and who you are. How many of us have believed we're capable of lifting that weight, or running a distance in that time, and failed? That was your ego whispering that you're capable, giving way to feelings of inferiority/disappointment on failing. How many us have believed we're incapable of lifting that weight, running a distance in that time, or following that advice we found on how to talk to women, and then discovered we could? That was your ego whispering that you're incapable, giving way to feelings of elation, and strengthened self-belief on success.
So we have two sides of this part of us, one that pushes us to try when we cannot achieve, and one that prevents us from trying when we can. Either way, they’re shaky parts of our psychological make-up that needn’t be listened to, as both of these instances can be ignored if you properly know and believe in yourself and are rational about your abilities and outlook/goals. The way I try to tie knowing myself into TRP is to rationalise the behaviours of those around me that I've witnessed (sharing our experiences and discussing outcomes), whilst seeing the results of following/ignoring the advice given from these instances. We do this a lot here, probably too much. We’re saturated by BP examples. All that is required for the destruction of your ego, to elevate you to realistic self-belief, is to beat it out of you with the challenges you lay upon yourself. Aim high and fail, aim high and succeed, but for fucks sake people, AIM HIGH. You have to know what you’re capable of, you owe it to yourself.
The Way
This is a Taoist philosophy. Taoism is an interesting philosophy and I recommend reading around the subject a little.
"The way" (in my understanding, which may not be true) is your way, not a way for everyone. This is similar to the saying (whilst you are on your journey of self-discovery) ‘just because you cross paths with a man going the opposite way, it does not mean he will not find the same destination’. It is what works for you. In Taoism it is no good attempting to bend or force a persons will from one subject to another because it will create imbalance, and imbalance creates chaos and disrupts harmony, with the effect of both being unhappiness. So, to tie this into frames, if a man's way is to be dominant, and competitive, making him (or taming him) into being a different person is going to result in him becoming unhappy. A result of his unhappiness is their unhappiness, as the balance is destroyed. His way has changed so he is changed, and because he is changed he no longer is "him". (I hope you're following this as this is the frustrating part about Taoism). It’s a concept we deal with frequently here regarding Alpha-to-Beta morphs from frame-assault where the end product is the woman ditching and moving on.
I see a lot of feminist ranting (thankfully mostly on the internet) about fighting against the way things are, and those same vocal members have an opinion on the way things should be. From a Taoist perspective changing/forcing a working way to change will always result in it becoming broken, and more importantly, not representing the same things it once did. We reflect that here by stating we’re not going to try and change the situation (another Taoist principle) because it’s simply expending too much energy, and is wasteful.
We talk a lot about women, and the techniques used to attract them and keep them attracted whilst coping with their attacks on our frames, but we do very little in the way of instilling confidence in ourselves, or rather where the true self-confidence comes from. A lot of BP criticism against us is being “just interested in sex”, which greatly undermines what I believe we do for the men that find us, because TRP has helped me with so much more than women. Bruce Lee said "all types of knowledge, ultimately mean self-knowledge", and it's an idea I haven't seen about these parts in a good long time – read, learn, digest. If you know yourself, and if you act on what you know about yourself, you will be happy; your happiness will then attract people to you. That’s not all of it, because the other half of TRP is the message we must choose wisely from those before you because there’s also the problem that they do not know themselves either, and will seek to change things around them to what they believe they want. Those who don’t know their way are lost, and if you give yourself over to following someone who is lost, pretty soon you will lose your path and lose your way.
Strive to understand yourselves, and improve on your understanding of yourself gentlemen, because the advice given here isn't meant to be followed blindly. It will not work in all scenarios on all people. Some thought is required; thoughts about who you are, what you can achieve, and where your value is at most-importantly.
TL;DR: Be honest with who you are, play to those strengths, assess your weaknesses, do not seek to change a way, be attentive to the situation at hand. Happiness follows the person who is happy about themself.
