The Fake Alpha

In our quest to become a true Alpha Male it is more then likely that many of us will spend some time as a fake alpha. Simply put a Fake Alpha is an imitation of a true Alpha Male. True Alphas are defined by their lack of neediness; they are motivated by their desires and act upon them, demonstrate security and acceptance of themselves, and are honest with themselves and others. Wheres as Fake alphas are defined by neediness; they are motivated by their insecurities, demonstrate insecurity, and need to prove themselves for validation or acceptance. Spending a short amount of time as a fake alpha is not detrimental to our growth (it may be necessary for some during their anger phase) but settling for being a fake alpha is selling oneself short of their true potential; living life as a fake alpha will always leave one with a sense of un-fufillment.

One becomes a Fake alpha by trying to overcompensate for their feelings of insecurity or inadequacy. This can take forms in many ways, but usually takes shape by the individual trying to "prove themselves" through their actions. It not as important what someone does as much as why he does it. Wanting to approach and fuck beautiful women doesn't make someone a fake alpha, but doing such things for attention, recognition, acceptance, or approval rather out of genuine interest or desire might.

One the surface everything might appear to be O.K. with a fake alpha, but he is probably grappling with many insecurities that affect his life negatively. The bravado he displays a might fool some (other insecure people), but will put off non-needy people who are truly secure with themselves, and will often come off as, "trying too hard". This bravado will often manifest itself in arrogance, and disrespect. Leading fake alphas to primarily attract insecure, needy women (along with other men) and scare away confident, non-needy ones. Most importantly fake alphas are not being true to themselves: what they want, or their true purpose, most likely have a difficult time expressing their desires honestly, and most likely difficult with accepting themselves as a person.

Transitioning out of the fake alpha stage can be difficult, but it is worthy and necessary transformation. The first step is to recognize insecurities, admit them, and learn to accept oneself (This deserves an entire post on its own). Next is to understand the underlying motives behind one's actions: is this for validation, or an act out of true desire? Last is to express oneself freely (without fear of shame or rejection), not being afraid to polarize (not trying to be liked by everyone), being honest with oneself and others (instead of deception). Of course these things are much easier said then done.
