I think I can best explain it like this:
A woman's love for a man is like the ocean tide. When it is full of feelings of love it will swell and spill over the shore. At high tide, she will say and do the sweetest most loving things. As sure as the phases of the moon change, the tide will go down. She will be cold, distant and withdrawn. She will act bitter, and resentful. She blames her man for causing the tide to fall. She will have no recollection of how far her waters reached the shore at one point, And will dismiss anything that was said or done at high tide, as if it were an entirely different ocean.
Very few women are capable of maintaining an equilibrium. A woman is incapable of loving a man unconditionally, the way a man loves and sacrifices for her. Her love is only dished out enough to keep him providing and being useful for her. BUT If a man worships the ocean, and dedicates his life to providing and caring for her with Every fiber of his being, a woman can temporarily remain between high and low tide. It is not an enjoyable place for either the man or the woman, as the water is still and becomes stagnant.
So a man has several options. He can stand on the shore or the mountain top, and admire the ocean from a distance. He can learn that he is fine being a land creature and live his life with no concern of its existence. OR He can get in the boat, and he can row onto the water, where he is tossed around by the waves, going in and out with the tide. The waves will smash him against the rocks, and eventually the tide will come in and toss the boat out onto the shore, and leave him beached and confused as it withdraws. OR He can swim. Here he is experiencing the beauty of the ocean, but he is impervious to the crashing waves, and the rising and falling tides. Swimming is a skill that must be learned, studied and practiced, but each day he grows stronger. It keeps a man in shape both physically and mentally, and he is able to come and go as he pleases.
Some men will be afraid to get out of the boat. The boat is comfortable, too comfortable. It makes them lazy and they do not want to put the effort into developing their swimming skills.
Where are you? Are you observing from the shore? Are you fighting the storm in the boat? Are you comfortable floating in the stagnant pool? Or do you want to learn to swim?
