The trouble I have with the third wave feminist project is that it is not about equality. It is a strategy for a wholesale power transfer of existing positions and institutions into the hands of ideologues who have waged a tightly organized campaign to politically seize them.

There are no known social justice advocates whose agenda is to dismantle regulatory and subsidy regimes that prevent people from starting companies to compete in protected markets, even firms operated by women, minorities and other anybody-but-whitey interest groups. To a one, their economic plan is driven by unilateral action based on the pretext of crisis. Whether it is terrorism, climate change, or the catch all trope of "inequality," their solution is the same: central, unilateral action by a government of Them. Their solution to everything is to use someone else's confiscated money and power to do it for them.

If equality were the true goal, then we would rewrite regulations to allow new people, as in women, minorities, political gays, everyone etc, to start their own new institutions.

If we were serious about equality, we would remove the legal barriers to market entry that favor old political groups from the previous century (unions, patronage networks, and credential cartels), and free people to start their own local banks, insurers, energy suppliers, auto manufacturers, hydro utilities, transportation systems, schools, universities, farms, and other businesses that an individual or family with some capital could easily start, were it not for the regulatory barriers that favor ensconced players.

The third wave feminist (F3?) project is not marching in the streets and waging shame warfare to legalize pot, use bitcoin, lower taxes, reduce subsidies, sell excess energy back to the grid, manufacture cars, or start microfinance companies. Instead, they are waiting for other people (presumably men) to build them, and then use political pressure to get appointed to manage them - because social justice.

However, this is not unique to feminism. It is the way of the world. If you build something worth taking, you have to fight stronger gangs who will try to take control of it from you, through taxation, extortion, or all out seizure. The point is that it is not a moral crusade with any principled basis. The whole F3 endeavor is just another expression of this same will to power.

What I want to see is women (and men) starting solar energy companies, I want to see a retail bank started by a woman, I would like to see a competitor to Tesla, I want women to be able to buy 10 acres of land and sell artisanal-as-fuck cheese from the cows she raises on it, or some really excellent hash. I want to see women found private universities that actually produce world changing technologies instead of merely taking credit for them, and schools that produce something more than dropouts, cogs, and apparatchiks.

What I do not want to see, is the reins of our compromised, ailing, screwed up political institutions, with their pervasive surveillance systems and total police powers, handed over to a bunch of pant-suited totalitarians. That is not change, that's just going malignant.

Handing over the reins is not equality.

Preserving an institutionalized elite and status quo by "diversifying" its membership with politically correct faces is not equality. Quotas, anywhere, are not equality.

We need fresh companies with fresh ideas. Want a female CEO? Be the investor who hires one. Want female board members? Hire them to manage your VC funds. Want female politicians? Like we need more politicians.

When you say equality and you don't mean freedom, you are just putting lipstick on the pig of suppression.

Freeing people to start their own companies and local institutions is real equality. I have no problem with women. My concern is that a wholesale handover of the insane political powers created in the last 30 years to professed radicals is illegitimate and dangerous.
