Summary:
We were all once "Alphas", social indoctrination schooled it out of us as we grew up. Returning to that childhood mindset we once had will reap huge rewards.
Return to your past
Take a minute and return to your childhood. Days free of the burden of jobs or college, days free of responsibilities, days when life didn't seem a chore. Your world was smaller and your freedom limited yet you were happy and enjoyed every moment of it.
Some of you might interject with "My childhood was terrible, I... " BULLSHIT! Unless your childhood was like that of those starving African child off a Red Cross advert or you grew up in a Warzone, your childhood was pretty great and you know it.
Your days were filled with games, never boredom. You used your imagination and were creative; you drew, you made towers out of Lego, you built entire empires in your room. Your masculinity filled you with energy and you were proud of everything you did. You shared your creations with the world instead of passively consuming. You lived for today, you didn't care for tomorrow. You entered with boldness; laughing, singing or dancing as you did. You used to love to sing and dance; noone needed to teach you how to, you just knew. You were yourself everywhere you went; if you thought you were Batman, you dressed as Batman, if a girl thought it was funny, she got a batarang to the head. You teased, pushed and made fun of girls; you sure as hell didn't put them on a pedestal. You were natural and fluid in everything you did. You picked fights with kids you disagreed with regardless of their size or gender, you had your own views and beliefs on what was right and wrong.
You were a boy because you had a pee-pee and girls were girls because they didn't. Exercise wasn't exercise, exercise was playing and having fun, it was about getting out in the world, it was about pushing limits and conquering challenges. If your parent said not to climb that tree, you can bet your damn self you climbed to the very top. You were comfortable with your body, heck you ran around naked! You had no crutches/vices of alcohol, tobacco, drugs or porn and yet life was great! Video games, movies and TV were rewards at the end of your day not the highlight. You did things wanted to because you enjoyed them not to because you wanted to impress anybody. Girls were stupid so you threw things at them. Girls had cooties so you chased them away not after them. Your world revolved around you and what made you happy.
As has been repeated on this sub again and again, there is no concrete division between "Alpha" and "Beta". There exists a spectrum as there is for all things (politics, colour, sexuality, mood etc.) Go too far one way and you'll end up on the other. To try and label everything is to create a false dichotomy. Rather than try and understand, it is better to use your intuition.
Young men these days in an effort to look masculine are spending more money on clothes, beauty products and plastic surgery than ever before. Women chase after bad boys and youthful Adonises, don't let them take it away from you or even worse waste it chasing after them. If "boys will be boys" then accept that "men will be men". When Eastern philosophy says "To be one with yourself and nature" it doesn't mean it in some Hippie-shit kinda way, it means learning to go with the flow as nature intended for you. TRP tells us to "Treat women like children" but we must sometimes become children ourselves; not taking ourselves seriously and learning to live in the moment.
Take out some pictures of you as a child from the attic, look at the smile on your face and ask yourself if your 6 year old self would be proud of where you are now? If not then it isn't too late to change!
End note
This post was heavily inspired by the post "Fountain of Youth" pg. 66 in the Book of Pook. I felt the need to repost it here in my own words because:
a) I don't feel enough people are going through the wealth of wisdom that is available in the sidebar. Book of Pook is a long read but it has a wealth of information that goes beyond simple pick-up.
b) The whole book was a great source of wisdom to me during a very low period of my life. It taught me that rather than "learn & internalise" it is better to "foster that which is within". It taught me one of the core paradigms of TRP, "better oneself for thyself, women + success will follow"
