So I don’t agree with the ‘extreme’ RP version that a handful of people seem to advocate, but I certainly am on board with the majority of posters here with respect to perspective. So I’l provide my perspective, and then ask a question as to what you guys think the future holds with this cultural trend?
Okay. I believe that changing cultural norms combined with technology has resulted into what we now call the ‘hookup’ age. Women are having more sexual partners than ever before, and promiscuity is more accepted. For women under the age of 25, it seems to be completely socially acceptable to bang guys at the bar every once in a while (or more), and to just have fun. Girls will have relationships during this time, but they tend to be short lived, and walk a very fine line between friends with benefits and LTR. After years of getting fucked and chucked by countless alpha males, they want to settle down and find a high quality beta male provider, while they offer to ‘give up’ their lifestyle. I cannot remember the countless women who have said something along the lines of “I went through a party stage, but I’m done with that. Now I just want to settle down with a nice guy”. E.G. I fucked a ton of guys during college because I could, I had no real expenses as parents/loans covered everything, and now that my looks are fading I want to settle for a man who will offer affection and resources, while in return, I’ll provide bitchines, entitlement, and much less sex than I provided to the alphas. You can see how this could create problems.
Now onto the male culture, since I only think it’s fair. Clearly, as males, we get a MUCH better deal by being the alpha d-bag. I personally have been the biggest alpha in the past, as well as the most pathetic beta; I’ve changed a lot in my life, and it has fluctuated. I know that being the alpha male clearly is the most rewarding, and you are immediately incentivized to behave this way. Men, thus, should be more and more conditioned to be afraid of marriage, afraid of LTR, not wanting kids, and not wanting to invest in a long term relationship. Compounding this, is the female trend towards higher promiscuity, which sort of feeds a positive feedback loop with women being more promiscuous, and men having less incentive for a long term relationship. We are already seeing dramatic shifts in number of offspring, marriage age, etc. I’m amlost 30, so I’ve witnessed a lot of this change first hand throughout my lifetime. So much has been within the last 5 years or so, it really has gotten out of control.
The question is, what is next? What does the future hold? Are we going to have a generation that just doesn’t reproduce, or when they do, it’s accidental and unwanted? I personally worry about the effects on the next generation of kids, but hopefully I’ll be dying by that point. I honestly want to know what everyone’s opinion is. I’m not sure if this is more of an ASKTRP thread, if so, please delete and I’ll report.
