Doctor Nerdlove is a male feminist who has taken upon himself to be an alternative to Red Pill knowledge for male nerds/geeks who have trouble getting laid. His blog commenters and forum regulars are females who toe the feminist line.

Naturally, his latest entry (linked above) advices the confused and ignored young men he purports to care about that masculinity itself is toxic and makes it hard to get laid. I quote:

"One of the most common ideas of “manhood” is the idea of “man as provider”. A man, we are told, provides for his family no matter what it costs him. The problem, of course, is that once again, this reduces manhood and masculinity into an external factor, something that can be taken… or destroyed. If a man is defined by being the provider (and it’s always the provider, not a provider) , then he is perpetually at risk of losing his manliness. If your status as a man is dependent on your financial situation, then your manhood is entirely at the whim of your employer; with the stroke of a pen, they can rob you of both job and metaphorical testicles. An economic downturn – something the average man can’t avoid or guard against – can destroy entire generations of men by casting them out into the street, powerless eunuchs desperate to regain their former status of “real men” at any cost."

Of course, he entirely neglects that an ability to provide (measured by a man's social status, whether or not its merely a result of economic achievement or he has a large social network on which to rely on) is a criteria by which women select men. Men's willingness to take the role of provider is naturally matched by women's willingness and desire to be provided for, and men cannot relinquish the desire to play provider (or desire to assume the mannerisms of one who can ably provide and protect) without women giving up their desire to be protected/provided for.

To a male geek nerd who is already confused and sad, Doctor Nerdlove's advice is downright pernicious, because relinquishing masculinity in the hope of getting laid can only lead such a dude all the more astray.
