A male birth control trial was cancelled for being unsafe to men. Feminists beta-shame and find a way to make it all about themselves.

There's a new gender gap that's building in America: women have surged ahead of men in obesity.

If a woman doesn't date short guys, that's okay because that's a preference. But if a man doesn't date obese girls, he's shallow.

I don't see a typing mistake.

Oh crap, the head of my IT is a woman. She might lay off all of the information security guys and just focus on teaching hackers to just be nice people. If we just teach them to be good, they will feel bad if they try to penetrate our firewall. After all, having a firewall promotes hacking culture. We shouldn't have to spend money protecting our networks. /s

I stopped reading at the tweet: "I was on @todayshow this morning..."

Couldn't stomach it anymore. It's not about the fight to end rape, it a about the news and cameras. Validation, in other words.

Are they going to make a nail polish that turns color when you dip in in whiskey?

"I got roofied" is bragplaining about (actually just) drinking too much liquor.

Preventative rape is the worst type of rape

They must also hate rape whistles, pepper spray, and pixie haircuts.

One of the ways that rape is used as a tool to control people is by limiting their behavior. As a woman, I’m told not to go out alone at night, to watch my drink, to do all of these things. That way, rape isn’t just controlling me while I’m actually being assaulted—it controls me 24/7 because it limits my behavior.

One of the ways that burglary is used as a tool to control people is by limiting their behavior. As a man, I'm told to lock my doors at night, to watch my surroundings in shady areas, to do all of these things. That way, burglary isn't just controlling me while I'm actually burglarized - it controls me 24/7 because it limits my behavior.

And Automobile accidents control me even when I'm not being run over because I have to walk on the sidewalk instead of the middle of the lane of traffic.

And law enforcement controls me because I can't go around shooting people in the face for looking at me creepily!

Mu opressionz!

First off this belongs in /r/TRPOffTopic.

Second, the criticisms are accurate, albeit emotionally charged and accompanied by the same empty "solution" of "teaching men not to rape". Roofies ARE uncommon. And profiting off of widespread manufactured hysteria is unethical, regardless of who mongered the fear in the first place (it was feminism). That said, their proposed alternative is equally full of shit. Broadbrushed misandry is not going to solve anything. Karen Straughan covers that whole campaign pretty well. Feminism, however, aims to culturally absolve women of responsibility for guarding their sexuality, because men should just know not to rape, right? Well guess what, there will be people who will rape and it's on each of us to protect ourselves. Women can "express their sexuality" all they want, but it should go hand in hand with responsible drinking habits and a general sense of caution.

"Teaching men not to rape." How about teaching people not to steal instead of advocating the use of lock and keys.

Imagine if someone invented a device to discreetly detect counterfeit bills.

Normal people: Great! I can use this to protect myself.

Feminists: This is so oppressive - how about people don't have to use some special device to not get passed fake bills. Anything that puts the onus on people to 'discreetly' keep from being passed counterfeit bills misses the point. We should be trying to stop counterfeit bills, not just individually avoid it.

Comments are a goldmine. My Personal favorites:

Look all they want is a world where nobody is a potential threat to anybody and their personal safety is not their responsibility. That's really not so much to ask, is it?

So, Never Go Full Feminist?

[–]DaedraNocturnal0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ah yes, because when somebody says that I should not steal something I will totally want to do it.
