Recently a guy stepped in, as recommended that all males do by these "ten ways to be a female ally" article, on some other guys catcalling a woman. This guy got his shit kicked in, winds up in the hospital, and from what the news is saying, the situation "escalated way out of control."

No one deserves to get beaten up and this is not what "should have happened". But let's review the fallout - feminists / media have turned this into a "SEE! We told you catcalling leads to violence and should be banned. Street harassment leads to real violence against women!"

His sacrifice received basically no attention and quickly the focus was shifted from him to feminism; the end result was not "hey, let's commend this guy and see if we can help him or send him shit in the hospital" but rather "SEE! WE WERE RIGHT! WE WERE RIGHT! STREET HARASSMENT IS A PRODUCT OF TOXIC MASCULINITY THAT MUST BE ERODED!"

This is no different when Eliot Rodgers killed 4 men and 2 women, and all of a sudden the UCSB shooting is all about women and how women are victimized. 4 families are grieving the loss of a son, Eliot Rodgers displayed insane hatred towards MEN throughout his online history, and yet the story of the day is #YesAllWomen.

His volunteering for an ass-whooping when these guys probably would have just said their piece and left was not appreciated (and this is no surprise to us at TRP, I'm just making it clear and being a little redundant here.)

It was a drive-by catcalling, the coverage on it makes it seem like they only got out because he yelled at them. Yet all the comments and the reddit comments are about how "the women could have been raped."

Yeah, but this guy is actually badly hospitalized. He's not a potential victim at minor-risk, he's a realized victim. What did he get? Nothing. Nada.

To make this less about societal issues / MR and more about practical advice for the RP individual... Understand that nobody, NOBODY at all, appreciates self-sacrifice and blind altruistic "these people are more important than me" attitudes. You will often think you will get credit and rewards for sacrificing your wants to the good of a collective. But this is as flawed as thinking being supplicative and "solving a woman's problems for her" will cause her to feel affection for you.

To use some Nietzsche terminology -

Slave-morality is "I don't care what I get out of an action, I will do it because I believe it is moral. Nevermind that my morals are self-sacrificial, work-for-others ideas that society has beaten into my mind since I was a child."

Master-morality is "If the action produces a good result for me, it's a moral action and I will do it. If the action produces a negative result for me, it's an immoral action and I will not do it."

What does this guy get out of white knighting? He doesn't get an award and I suspect he won't even be able to sue these dudes for his hospital bill. Therefore, regardless of how "noble" it is, it must be seen as the action of a loser, one of slave-morality, because the result was purely negative.

When you do things for public approval or noble rationalizations - think about this: Will you receive anything tangible (aka not a social media buzz or a woman's gratitude, which lasts about a week) from your actions? If not, it does not matter how brave or noble or honorable an action is.

Before trolls say I am victim-blaming him, I am not. I am, however, saying that he possesses an ineffective "slave-morality" that you should cure yourself off, preferably earlier in your life than later.
